Gen. Choi. Given the state of Korea at the time, it is amazing his accomplishment in gathering together the Nine Kwons to help him create Tae Kwon Do. A man who may have created a martial art for his military but spent the remainder of his life spreading it to the world as a tool of peace. Thank you, Gen. Choi Hong Hi.
It is said giants walked the earth but has anyone ever seen a five feet one hundred and five pound giant if not he stands in front of you right this minute he is General Choi Hong Hi for a person of such miniature stature to engulf the world with the most powerful martial art known throughout the world it was a spectacle to see the world's strongest karate Grandmaster in Mas Oyama who weighs over three hundred pounds paying tribute to General Choi in Korea telling General Choi he respects him and his Tae Kwon Do I remembered ready a story about a wrestler who mentioned to Grandmaster Choi if he should ever return to Korea he will tear GM Choi from limb to Limb but GM Choi was slated to return to Korea and remembered what the wrestler told him so he decided to test his kicks to see if it was ready for the wrestler hence he kicked an electric lamp pole and the power of the kick generated upwards whereby it sent shock waves to the wires above in that the wires began to tangle themselves as though a hurricane was causing mayhem with the wires he was not able to return as World War two began the rest is history
That’s objectively not true he had disagreements with South Korean masters sure but he was not and never will be a traitor he was born in the north and during the Korean conflict he was bought back to the north and because of wtf style being owned by the south he made ITF in the hopes of expanding tkd to the rest of the world
