Yes I live in Singapore and I love India so much I always hope to stay in India and settle there because there is really no place like India. My parents migrated to Singapore for financial purposes but I always want to come back to India. It's insane that there are people who are so bothered about a flag or people having a sense of pride for their country. I should be crying and raging right now because in Singapore it is a must for everyone to stand up for both the national anthem and pledge in school even if you are foreigner. We still do it without complain because we have appreciation for the country for offering us education and privileges. Nobody cares because they have better things to do but it seems like there are some people in India who have nothing to do but to complain over something that every decent human does.

I actually cried with GD bakshi and seeing how the people of my country react to the Patriot as an extreme nationalism. These people should ask the children of the martyrs who have lost their fathers, I am ashamed that they are raising the question on Indian flag which the soldiers have given there life to protect it. Such an shame to those who say they have there own flag. This is the shame moment of a country where a retired soldier is crying. Please people no one should politicize this kind of matter.

This is so embarrassing because this trash of democracy, this hatred on the basis the due politics. We are producer of that rich raw material on the basis the whole western products flourish and we get the least benefit. because first it is given less to us and whatever is given 80% of it is not given to the public but enjoyed by he elite, by the politicians. East India Company never left they are here and these politicians are their front men, with no dignity or with pride. our heroes will keep on dying and will keep on crying. I remember when I was a school student, our teachers in school explains to us the meaning of three colours in our national flag as: The Red (or Saffron) stands for the blood of the freedom fighters, the White stands for Peace & Harmony and the Green stands for Prosperity & Progress. I did not know when the Red became the Saffron of Hinduism, Green and White, the colour of Muslims and Christians respectively. Is that not a joke with the blood of our freedom fighters?

I can't believe that we are actually discussing this after 69 years of Independence. I have not seen citizens of any other country speaking against hoisting their own country's flag. As an Indian it concerns me to see where are we going. Our flag is the symbol of our sovereignty and shame on the people who give it a religious colour. We are proud of our men in uniform, securing our borders, because of whom we the people of India can breathe in a sovereign, secular and democratic republic and shame on people who have the audacity to question it.

To be honest .... it’s only after BJP came in power, we started accepting our nationality with pride. We started understanding the value of our soldiers and freedom fighters and their sacrifices only after we got a PM like Modi who loves his country. +Boss Singh I never said i support a particular party. My problem is we should not forget that India is still a nation in building. Incidents such as Shiv Sena throwing out Bihar workers out from their state who came all the way to Maharashtra in search of an employment, where some leaders of Telangana state say their state was not part of India even for today, extreme regionalism of Tamil Nadu shows still India is not united strongly as much as needed. So the onus is on every individual to understand the situation and do not bash whoever oppose the majoritarian idea. The reason i called him a threat is this radical slogans which are internal to the country hurt India more than a external source of threat. A good example is BJP, which is using all the powers to suppress the voice of dissent. It is behaving as a autocrat and unable to tolerate the ideas which are not similar to theirs. I too oppose anti national slogans. But here it is from a student so one should consider his level of maturity and act accordingly. But i agree it is ridiculous to oppose hoisting a flag on universities, but calling disagreed as anti nationals is wrong.

I study in S.Korea and a Korean student in my lab always keep his country's flag beside his desk. I got that you want your university's flag hoisted in your campus. You should do it go ahead but you have no right to throw out national flag from the govt. sponsored university and make it a topic of discussion. I feel so ashamed of this professor. He is supposed to show right way to the young bright generation of India but what he is doing is completely opposite. I am shocked to see that these type of individuals nurture our country's youth. I live in the US and the American flag is flown here at every school,university,college,gov't buildings and even private corporations like Mcdonalds which is not even required to do it. I am Indian not soldier like whom I can give ultimate sacrifice for my country , but one thing that I can do is not demeaning the stature of my country in front of world. We civilians have responsibility to keep our country unified. Our tricolour flag represent every Indians. It should be hoisted on every school, collage and university. I say why to deprive students of every age from the beautiful site of my flag rising high proudly. According to my opinion freedom of speech should be restricted if its against my country. My Son is Elementary School in US. I see 4'th standard kids hoisting US flag every day. If 4th grade kids can respect and feel responsible the national flag. Then why can't university students and so called intellectuals can start debate saying the protocol may not be followed, there are rules when you hoist flag. So are the students who are mature enough to protest against Afjal Guru judgement, are incapable of respecting the national flag? If they are not responsible why to provide grants and aid for student's who are less responsible than 4th standard kid? These guys are sadists... Wortless.. I want to kick their ass...
