I wish the writer's hadn't demolished AJ's character for the sole purpose of building up Jason and Sonny. Billy is such a great actor, I always felt he was too good for this show. Sigh. Thanks for posting!!
I agree Sarah. His alcoholism was the cause of Jason Morgan being born. And prior to that car accident, him and Jason constantly fought because of his alcoholism and bad choices.
@@mishsouth2355 AJ was a nuanced character. Even as a child they made it clear that Alan and Monica's problems effected him more than Jason. Also, being in boarding school was tough on him. He went over the edge. And he was difficult to help - WHICH WAS REAL. He was never bad - just in need of being loved. And even though Alan did love AJ - Monica's affair and lying to him about AJ being Rick's son - effected him. Right or wrong - and Alan paid dearly for that too.
Fact is, this family abandoned Alan time and time again. Monica from the beginning. Only Lila was always there..for everyone. Prior to Alan's addiction, Monica rejected him due to her breast cancer, then she had an affair with Doofus-Dorman. Then, the GH crisis - where Edward and everyone throw him under the bus. The accident, then that God-awful trial. No wonder Alan cracked. That was a realistic storyline.
shopgirl2547 I agree. Now that Drew and Michael are now living in mansion along with Ned Olivia and Monica ,it would be nice if the writers made them the next generation. Scout, Danny, Oscar ( I have questions about jakes paternity, I believe Jake is lucky ‘s biological father) just my thoughts.

The same reason they don't mention Jason's bio mom...maybe the figured newer fans wouldn't know who she was and didn't want to keep explaining each time...
Once again Alan goes off without knowing all of the facts...one example is the fact that at this time AJ hadn't fallen off the wagon when Carly set him up to look like he had .....yet because of AJ's previous drinking Alan didn't even check. Also, often through the early years of Jason Morgan new life....Alan has repeatedly verbally put him down. This is no way to treat someone.....and these young men were his sons.
BW was a bad recast they did it on purpose bc aj matched him in looks. Bw no shade but hes really short and dark while aj had that beachy blonde hotness
And this is why it took Jason so long to warm up to Alan especially…….that man was as asshole……..concern for his son was not his main agenda……..to berate, belittle and degrade both his sons was the main goal.
