I could never figure out why Brad didn't win an Emmy for his performance on GH. He should have won for the scene when he listened to BJ's heart beating inside Maxie's body. What a scene!

What a great surprise. One of GH's most treasured figures. Thanks, Brad Maule, for agreeing to do this. Your scenes are moving, always have been. We miss you. GH's greatest strength is in her history, in her own mythology. Playing those cards well leads to transcendent storytelling and addicted followers.
Kasey, What a great observation on Brad’s amazing capabilities as an actor, in that watching him you never for a SECOND think of him as an actor but wholeheartedly see and hear Dr. Tony Jones! He delivers in such “unrehearsed” fashion that it never seems as though anyone “wrote” his words but that they’re coming from his heart ❤️ MISS him and those Golden Age days so much! Case in point GH has Robert and Anna both on the GH canvas at the same time and COMPLETELY wastes the talents of Tristan and Finola in throwaway appearances and completely negating the incredible Chemistry they shared and still could!
Absolutely Awesome Brad Maule appearing again as ghostly Tony Jones. Great comeback ...even at the end he appeared next to Bobbie at the hospital and hugged her and she felt his presence. Well done GH writers.
Brad Maule had some of the best scenes on GH. When he was shot in the heart and in the head and the fans wrote in to save his character, the BJ/ Maxie heart transplant, Tony and Bobbie dealing with her affair with Damien Smith, his death from a virus... TPTB shyte on the character so badly. In an interview Brad spoke about how the writers told him that sending him over to the dark-side during his break down over Carly and then he kidnapped baby Michael and Robin. They said that they may not be able to bring the character back around to being likeable again. And he became a once in a while character, just when they needed a doctor in the ER...he was a neurosurgeon !! At least he died with the ones that loved him. What a shame. Brad Maule is a great actor and a fantastic singer, he auditioned to play Frisco Jones, but he was just a little to old for the part.
I've always adored Tony. My childhood was filled with watching him and Tania and Frisco and Felicia in GH. I know Brad is getting older and has gray hair (wow!!!), but he still is every bit as handsome as he was in the 1980s. God bless.

What a BLESSING that would be wouldn’t it? To be able to “feel” the hug of a lost loved one or be able to sit beside them and hear their love and support must be what Heaven would actually be like I think. 😇🙏🌹
Thinking about it, the entire Jones family was done dirty on this show. Lucas is regularly just written off and forgotten despite being a legacy character. Brad Maule asked for Tony to be killed off because they were doing nothing with him, they were barely giving Bobbie the time of day before Jackie Zeman died. Hell, even the other side of the Jones family, Frisco's a dead-beat dad and Georgie was murdered. It's tragic to see what happened. Tony, Bobbie, BJ and Lucas and only Lucas remains, and again, just written off and forgotten.
Its so true. Every person who passes u kinda canonize them. Ud think my deceased father in law was a saint! I met him a few times he was nice enough but when he was alive I definitely heard about his faults which we all have . Even for me my nana was tough and could be difficult but I only think of the good times. I miss her a lot
Katie Maniaci The producers wrote him into a box they couldn’t break him out of. His nervous breakdown and affair was compelling but they had no idea where to go from there. They completely destroyed his character.
Gabe Logan what I never understood was that they redeemed his character and he regained his career and the respect of Port Charles residents. They could have gone forward with the role. Hell, even Jason came to accept him. I don’t know why they killed him off.

Mary, And I’ve always absolutely believed the only “mistakes” made were the ones the writers made by destroying the warmth, wit and wisdom of the legacy character of Dr. Tony Jones!! Brad Maule was a SUPERLATIVE actor whose consummate abilities were on full display during the legendary daytime BJ’s Heart storyline! What they did to his character in the aftermath of that story was more TRAGIC to GH fans than even the loss of BJ!! Had the character turned to drugs or alcohol to deal with his pain would have been completely understandable but to TRANSFORM such a loving innately DECENT man (unhesitatingly gave his little girl’s heart so another might live!) into the epitome of EVIL was a travesty and the waste of a brilliant actor!!
Breaks my heart knowing how GH destroyed Tony's character. Seeing him in this scene brings tears to my eyes. Him, Alan Quartermaine, and Robert Scorpio were my favorite men on the show. Anna, & Bobbie were for the women...
The BJ’s Heart episodes were the GREATEST scenes in daytime HISTORY!! It STILL makes me upset to this day that Brad Maule did not win the Emmy for those spectacular performances!! When he put his head down on Maxie’s chest and listened to his daughter BJ’s heart, mine BROKE! Anyone who wants a MASTER CLASS in acting needs to watch Brad’s performances from that Golden Age of GH!! Kristina and Jack Wagner (Felicia and Frisco) were also the best they ever would be during that storyline and I believe Brad Maule deserves some of the credit for their performances too as they were mostly with him as Dr. Tony Jones! WATCH Brad’s FACE in the SILENT scene where Tony looks at Monica after BJ’s heart begins to beat in Maxie - his silent ANGUISH is gut wrenching!
Maybe, maybe not. In 1991 Bobbie found out Lucas' birth mother thought Lucas was dead and she didn't give Lucas up. It's a similar storyline, like history repeating itself. I wonder if anybody dead or alive will mention that to Lucas. In any case, it makes me think Lucas will forgive Brad for Wiley's sake, the same reason Tony forgave Bobbie.

Tony was such a good man until hurricane carly came into.town and made him go crazy ! She used his and Bobbie greif over losing bj to slither into his bed than she knew aj was likely Michael's son didnt tell him than when she found out he dumped her she told him jason was the daddy. I hope ghost tony scares carly lol. She would freak out.

Well, actually, she did think Tony was probably the father because she had been with him for months and only slept with AJ one time. I don’t understand how people can claim she knew AJ was the father. Hell, she slept with both of them on the same night. She wanted it to be Tony’s because she had fallen in love with him by that time and wanted to marry him. But of course, there was no way she was going to live up to his standards and when she failed, he dumped her, but told her he was going to take her baby away from her. If he had not done that she would never have left him., would never have told him Jason was the father. Where Carly went wrong was in going to Jason instead of AJ, which is probably what she would have done if AJ hadn’t done the same thing Tony did and threatened to take her baby. Hell, if AJ had treated Carly like Jason did and offered her help to keep her baby and offered her a home and help, she probably would never have gone to Jason. Carly actually liked AJ before. Tony was stupid to dump her before the baby was born and to blatantly tell her he was going to take her baby and she would never see him again. He was arrogant and underestimated Carly. He thought all she wanted was money, but that was stupid. Carly had a lot of chances for money and turned them all down. What did he expect her to do? Just say “Thank you, Tony, you’re so wonderful to take my baby “ and step aside? Easy answer to that. He expected her to take the money he offered her and disappear, leaving him her baby. Big mistake. Carly may have had a lot of faults but she wanted her baby. And her post parturition depression was real, no matter what some people wanted to believe.

She broke into a lawyers office and had custody papers sent to Bobbie . Thats crazy. She did tell her friend aj about it and he didn't judge her. I think if sean k hadn't left we would have had Carly & aj they had chemistry and Jason was off with robin. I think they purposely cast the total opposite of sean k on purpose bc they wanted jason to blow him.away in all departments. No offense to billy warlock but he was a shrimp with dark hair and about 15 years too old to play aj. How did they explain the very tall Alan having a shrimp suddenly as a son. Anyway once they cast that aj , she was pretty afraid that aj could be the daddy . If Carly had just told aj they slept together they would have been cool. Aj heard from Carly some insane things she had done and not only did he not judge her he gave her positive pep talks . Carly blew it big time with aj bc she did something horrible. She drugged him knocked him out put him in a laundry Cart and poured vodka all over him.so he would think he blew his sobriety and as he told Carly if he ever drank again he'd check himself into rehab far away and never come back again. So when he found out what Carly did to him all to cover up that the baby could possibly be his what was he supposed to do???? Thank her for assaulting him drugging him which are crimes and breaking his spirit by making him.think he drank? Was he supposed to say thank u Carly for doing criminal things to me bc ur insane and sure if the baby is mine Tony can sure have him and u if course who is totally insane ? Carly easily could have made things a lot better with aj instead of what she did. So she put aj in a defensive position. She did all this to him bc she desperately was making sure if aj was the daddy up to her and if Tony never dumped her aj knew she would never let him know he had a baby . Remember all the comments of Robin jason amd Bobbie that Carly slept late ( with a baby not sure how u do that) and literalky shopped more than she spent time with michael. When she moved in with aj , she was off playing mob moll witj jason and as aj said Leticia sees him way more than u do. She finally started caring for Michael when daddy number 4 sonny moved her in bc sonny would not have Carly lazy ass doing nothing . He actually made her work with laura . Carly didn't take care of Mikey the first almost 2 years of his life and just lived off the men she got solely bc of the child . Finally a more mature Carly played by Laura wright who gave Carly some class and a work ethic by daily running her hotel witj Jax admitted when michael was shot " I pretended I was doing what was best for Michael all his life when I really did it for myself referring to living off Tony while pregnant jason aj than sonny. She still screwed up bc even after that Jax was the perfect husband and bc of danger to jocelyn begged her to keep the baby away from.sason which she refused to do. So she screwed up abother marriage for her own selfish reasons . She & jocelyn almost died bc of sonny's connection to her when Claudia took hwr hostage and still after her son went to prison bc dumb ass jason and sonny instead of telling the truth covered it all up. If they told the police what happened he wouod never have been charged it was in defense of his sister who was getting kidnapped by claudia. So she thought sonny was so great for taking the heat and Jason for going to jail but all would have bern avoided if she a. Cut sason out if her life and b. Didn't let them.do a covet up. Than when she put sonny in motion that he had Jax presumed dead yet again she took Morgan away . Obviously that didn't stick bc grandparents Carson just had their 7th kid between both of them. The writers screwed up bc sonny is too old to have a wandering eye for the next Young chick and Carly too old to do the sex kitten femme Fatale to get over on another poor schlub. So the show is stuck with Carson forever which should realky back burn them as they literalky have no story left that they did this fake out spina bifida that Donna doesn't have . In 2010 it wad time to fully pass the torch to the next generation of men with johnny michael Dante but they never did . The next generation of women should be Kristina Maxie molly maybe Lila Rae but they wrecked that too Monica Bobbi Alan Robert duke had to pass the torch to the next set brenda Jax jason Robin sonny and Carly . For some reason the show refused to do this and now they have no exciting younger generstion. Michael was awesome when he turned on Carson but now is dull as dishwasher and the sad thing Is the reason the show won't give michael his baby back is bc he will then become a boring single father .

Carly didnt want to just go away with a lot of money bc she was an emotional vampire and hot to trot as well. When michael was born she had ppd . I had it as well but didnt have the luxury of dumping my kid off with a hit man. Who does that? She had a mother in florida who seemed to love caroline very much and carly shit on her bc she wasnt rich . She was thrilled she got pregnant bc things with tony were shaky bc yes she was wacky manipulative did crazy things like break into a lawyers office with a wig on and sent papers to Bobbie to start drama. That is crazy to dress up and do that. Carly just loved to be around people sucking up the attention. Of course she wasnt gonna dump michael if edward offered her money that kid was her meal ticket and if she abandoned him for money she knew how that would look in court and at that moment michael was her ticket to Jason. U know the guy she kept trying to have sex with . She also shot Tony In open court that's a crazy act as well. Tony kidnapped her kid I get it but I've seen parents in courtrooms with people who killed their kid and they dont do that. Tony she hated now bc she was onto Jason and he smirked at her so carly being carly went crazy and shot him. If she loved michael she would have wanted to be home with him. But carly was very bored with motherhood and loved just being part of excitement . When she was in the q mansion she left him all the time to hang out with jason and butt into their life. She married aj but was jealous if jason had a pretty waitress like hannah flirt with him. She finally gets jason instead of calming down she goes to screw sonny and get herself knocked up. She was I guess so into him she said nothing when he called her a whore and to take money from the drawer to make their transaction legal and she giggled and was all smoochy over sonny. Gag. Then for the second time she was passing her 2nd kid off as Jason's to aj and to the qs ajs baby but it was sonnys. Who could keep up. So u like monica she had 3 baby daddys in her wacky mind with both pregnancies. She also was not pushed down the stairs of course instead if getting whatever she had to gloat to aj he was a loser and she was gonna be mrs sonny corinthos shoving her ring in his face and she fell down the stairs bc aj was getting taunted and grabbed her hand when she shoved it in his face . So of course she decides to bring a gun to kill aj. Oh right carly wanted a career but as laura said she never showed up and only did to hurt Elizabeth. Why? Bc carly blew it with jason and went to liz instead of her. So carly I never felt she loved michael as a baby all that much . She saw him as bait to quote the very smart robin since u quoted lila. I'd say robin was also more aware of carly than lila. A similar character to carly was blair on oltl and she ed gold digged and did bad things but when her baby starr was born u could feel that she loved her . I never got that with sbs carly with little mikey
The actor that played is a great actor and it would have been great if they could have figured out a way to bring him back. But he is dead. Dead dead people, I mean those that are really dead forever, should not come back and have meaningless conversations with the living. This is a weird soap phenomena that I have never liked. Dead is never dead on a soap. Even dead dead people come back from time to time.
Well, the people who come back alive were never dead to start with. Their deaths were usually faked or they were lost like at sea and no body recovered. They don’t actually revive the dead. If the writers intend to bring a character back at some time they often don’t find the body.
Carly was not a psycho. She was just a young girl with poor judgement who panicked and did something stupid. Was what she did any worse than what Tony ended up doing? Kidnapping a baby who was premature and recovering from heart surgery? And kidnapping a young girl with HIV And detaining her for days in a cabin without her HIV meds? He came close to killing her. But no one called him a psycho. They said he had mental issues? And gave him a slap on the wrist when Carly flipped out and shot him, they slapped her in a mental institution for months.And of course it was all Carly’s fault. You think Carly didn’t have mental issues? But that does not make her a psycho. And think about what AJ ended up doing? Kidnapping three small children. Brainwashing his own son? And trying to kill Jason? That says psycho to me as much as anything Carly did. But that was all Carly’s fault too. Carly was far from a saint, but she was not a devil either. Compare her to Monica. Her antics don’t hold a candle to Monica. Everything Carly ever did, Monica did first. Affairs, kidnapping and drugging an ex lover, and trying to kill him. Lies, betrayal, backstabbing, blackmailing, home wrecking they were just everyday fun activities for Monica. But no one calls her a psycho. No one says she destroys everyone she comes in contact with. But look at her family. Alan with an ulcer, a drug addition, an inability to connect with his sons. AJ, a drunk since middle school, who committed terrible acts against many people . Most had done nothing to him. But poor AJ. Alienated from the family. Jason, a brain damaged criminal caused by his drunken brother. Also alienated from the family. Emily, a drug addit. I am not saying Monica was responsible for all of it by any means, but she played her part. Was all that Carly’s fault too? Amazing how much power one girl had. She is a very convenient scapegoat for anyone who does not want to take responsibility for what they did. Just blame it on Carly.

Tonya Meredith Cheryl Stansbury was Lucas’ biological mother and Julian Jerome is his biological father, but, because they raised him, Bobbi & Tony are the ones Lucas calls Mom, & Dad.
Craziness. Tony had BJ with Tanya. Tanya died from her injuries from being hit by a car. BJ dies of her injuries after her school van is in a accident. Now Tony’s gone and Bobbie’s death will be written in to the show due to Jacklyn Zeman’s passing.
