Niao Niao is an endearing character. Though she feels that she is not clever enough or well educated, she talks sensibly, logically, honestly. She is adorably naive not stupid. She does feel hurt by her mother's comments but feels humble enough to bear them. To me she is the sweetest and loveliest female lead and the best man in the kingdom understands her, loves her and honours her in public. To me she is a wonerful, beautiful,intelligent person and no wonder she gets to marry the most sought after man in the kingdom.

The scripts are overlapping. For those who don't follow the language the translation is a boon. But it continues to be hidden by the Chinese script. It is like watching a movie without the benefit of the dialogues. Can't something be done about this.

The horse Ling Buyi is riding has a swollen hind leg, it is very visible in comparison to the other hind leg in some shots. That horse doesn't seem to be limping though. I wonder if that is why his horse seems upset from time to time.

The Chinese have a long history of honouring tradition, does she think that her problems can be solved by going someplace else to live? So glad she grew out of her stupid character in latter part of the series!
