I'm 54 and music of any kind never gets old, Tenderness sounds as zesty and fresh as it ever did. Classical music has survived hundreds of years and so can perfect pop songs such as this.
52 here, same feeling, I can't believe I found this song, danced it with my gf at the time in different places..Great trip back in time, we definitely had a good generation
Most most definitely I enjoyed this movie when I was a young teenager in 85 and now that I'm old man I still watch it when it comes on and I laughed so much it's one of my favorite all-time movies he say fats man let me tell you my story crazy insane about this eighth grade bitch
I remember being in a record store they played this new album. Me and my brother bought it right away. Well he’s deceased today and when I hear this 😢he’s still alive
@johnmicele3888 - I’m sorry for your loss. 😔 It looks as though hearing this song is more of a comfort for you than it is painful to you. I wish you peace. 🕊️
General Public was an amazing song. I can remember I was deployed in 2001-2002 overseas, and a lot was going on in my life at that time - I received a lot of bad news and nothing I could do about it. I was listening to a music list and this song came on and out of nowhere brought on an emotional break down for about 2 hours (never had one before that ever, nor since). I guess it just reminded me of a lot of people and events. I still listen to the song regardless. But the fact this song did that I would say makes it a powerful tune.
So i was born when this song came out i didnt hear it till 1995 in clueless and loved it saw them in kent ohio a few years back and i was just in awe to see them live
Definitely a great song I'm southern rock country all the way but I remember this movie and weird science where they got chased in the Ferrari and he told her who he truly was and this was the backround music it wa so awesome
I saw these guys in Tucson, AZ back in November 2018, I think. Such a great concert at 101 Toole. I hope they’ll come to Michigan because I want to enjoy their live music again
I don't know when to start or when to stop My luck's like a button I can't stop pushing it My head feels light But I'm still in the dark Seems like without tenderness There's something missing Tenderness Where is the Tenderness Where is it? I don't know where I am but I know I don't like it I open my mouth and out pops something spiteful Words are so cheap, but they can turn out expensive Words like conviction can turn into a sentence I held your hands Rings but none on that finger We danced and danced But I was scared to go much further with it Just half a chance Make sure that one night you're here but Next night you're not It always leaves me searching for a little Tenderness Where is the Tenderness Where is the Tenderness? Whistling in the graveyard Calling up your girlfriend Just trying to make her understand You're squeezing the telephone like it was her hand No question (so many questions) She's going to catch you out, boy It all seems so underhand Now she's the only thing that ever made You feel like a man, man, madman, madman Tenderness Where is the Tenderness Tenderness Tenderness Where is it? I held your hands Rings but none on that finger We danced and danced But I was scared to go much further with it Just half a chance Make sure that one night you're here but Next night you're not It always leaves me searching for a little Tenderness Where is the Tenderness? When you're sick to death of second best, pet Why should the morning always find you unimpressed? Is your love like a button? You can't stop pushing it? Oh this all night longing can be such a long time
Loved this song in high school. Can't not see the Ranking Roger's dancing in the background as Jason Sudeikis's tracksuit guy in "What Up with That?" SNL skit
