I'm mostly wondering what we can expect pre- and post- the actual pushing stage. Where are we for earlier parts of labour? What tools/resources do we have access to (yoga balls, TENs machine, etc)? And what is the room like once the baby is born. I've requested a private room, but do I even need to do that with current restrictions?

Thanks for the initiative on creating this video. It certainly helps as it is stressful for expectant moms not to he able to engage in all of the preparations previously available. A major omission for me is the process in the triage room itself. Since partners cannot be there that is one of the most stressful parts: what might happen at that stage, how long may you be there etc?

Hi Allison - it depends on the reason you are in triage and how many other people are waiting to be assessed. We try to move patients quickly through triage but you could be there a few hours if you are in early labor and requiring multiple reassessments. Partners may be able to go home during this time to wait for the go ahead to come in. We understand it’s anxiety provoking but we are with you every step of the way!
