FYI, flicking your revolver shut is fine. Even if by some chance you manage to damage your revolver to the point it needs repairs, it's not like a gun that's been around since 1831 is hard to fix. In fact it's actually pretty easy to make your own revolver parts.
Okay if you flick the cylinder in, you have a chance of damaging the crane, now imagine doing so, and then shooting and breaking your gun in combat, that is why it’s not recommended.
@@linkibear8644 Maybe in combat it's risky, but consider this: 1. We're talking recreationally, so it's fine, it's easy to fix. 2. If you're using a revolver in a real firefight, you're screwed anyways. The only time a revolver is valid in my experience is as a PDW Conceal Carry and even then it's a horrible choice.
It would also not work at all, the reason most games show it turned upside down is that it's easier to push in the button on the side that actually allows you to load shells into the magazine tube.
Consult the former PAYDAY 2 Animator's channel 'Niphen Niphen' and they can *show* you (At least for what work he did before moving onto Second Extinction and then Ravenbound after it).
Not even 30 seconds into the video I immediately searched for PD2's weapons animations because I thought I spotted a direct copy & paste, just to scroll down and see your comment lol. It really does have a look to it that's super recognizable. It's something about when he hits the slide on the pistol, he sorts of jerks the gun forwards. I've never really seen that anywhere else except PD2
@@Ramlin1210 I don't think it's the exact same developer, though I know that they are connected in some way I don't quite understand from my research. Also, it is the exact same engine, and if rumours are to be believed, Generation Zero was made as basically almost an engine testing ground for CotW for things like "persistent enemies" and such. So with all that in mind, it's definitely not surprising that they share some models
Regarding the Kvm 89/M249, the bolt doesn't HAVE to be locked back when opening the feed tray cover, the bolt roller will be pressed down by the feed lever, and spring back into place once aligned with the track of the feed lever. Closing the feed tray cover might take a little more effort with having to push the bolt roller down, and aligning the feed pawls at the same time. Same applies to the Kvm 59/ M240/ FN MAG
I really like the art style for this game's guns. I'm not sure what about them stands out, but they're stylized in a way that isn't too realistic or too cartoonish. It's a good balance.
I don’t know why SO MANY PEOPLE are complaining about “the weapons animations are bad” or “Why is [inset gun name here] doing in Sweden” or “the weapon names are wrong” like it’s a game, GET OVER IT!!!!
the guns of Generation Zero are of course based on real ones with just deformed shapes and names , here's their real names: handguns: Moller: Walther PP Volkov: Makarov Klaucke: certainly a mix between a Steyr M9 and a Glock 17 44 Magnum: Ruger Super Redhawk Iron Conder: Desert Eagle, possibly a Mark 1 or 2 , the variants of the DE available during the late 1980s- early 90s SMGs: COM10: Ingram Mac10 Vosa: Skorpion vz.61 Kpist: Carl Gustav M45, a true swedish SMG , which fits the game setting HP5: HK MP5A3 assault/combat other select-fire rifles: AL76: AKM Kotenok: Dragunov S21: M14 N16: Colt M16A1 or A2 (does it shoot in burst or full-auto in the game?) AutomateGevar-5: Bofors AK5 , the swedish military variant of the FNC AutomateGevar-4: a swedish military variant of the HK G3 ATWAD: AS VAL Pansar: Barrett M82 shotguns: Sjoqvist: Sjogren Inertal Racs-12: Franchi SPAS-12 Pump-action: Remington 870 Bolt sniper rifles: Vintovka: Mosin-nagant 1891 Meusser: Sako 85 Alugstare: Remington 700 machine-guns: N60: Saco defense M60 KVM 89 : a FN Minimi , but in a anachronistic M249 design KVM 59: FN M240 PM71: PKM N144: a M134 Dillion or General Electrics launchers: M79 MGR: a mix between a Milkor and a Hawk MM1 RLG: Bazalt RPG-7 Granategevar: Carl Gustav M2 other weapons: an homemade flamethrower and a bow with arrows hope that was useful to read
Sjögren Inertial also developed in Sweden. KVM 89 Most likely not quite is M249, and a slightly similar version for Sweden (some differences are visible). Automatgevär 4 is Real AK-4 Carbine Rifle (Swedish G3)(In Real Life, it is replaced by AK-5(Swedish FN FNC). S21 is M1A SOCOM 16 (Since automatic firing is not available and the barrel is shorter)
Ahh yes, a game with a lot of DLC weapons, all of which will become unobtainable once: A. The game gets delisted from sale and the servers shut down! or B. The online stores that sell said game and DLC shut down! (Like what Nintendo did to the 3DS and Wii U Eshop and what Microsoft will do to the XBOX 360 Marketplace by the end of the month at time of saying this) Gotta love the always online, all-digital gaming future!
Expansive worlds and Avalanche Studios (the developers of Generation Zero) are known for providing long term support for their games, in fact one of their games, The Hunter Classic, has been getting support and updates for over 10 years.
That i agree. The same can't be said if scenario B (the unlikely scenario where the PSN and XBOX stores alongside Steam shut down in the future like what Nintendo did with the Wii U and 3DS eShops and what Microsoft will do to the Xbox 360 store a few days from when this comment was written) happens, because if it were to happen, Generation Zero, along with all of it's DLCs, will become unobtainable (alongside many other games) if there are no contingencies for this scenario. (Like allowing players to install all their games into a local drive) This is why physical media needs to make a comeback on PC without most of the silly restrictions that physical PC games once had (like serial keys and DRM), because with physical media, all those games i mentioned can be played even without the need for an internet conntection.
@@eamonfitzmartin998 that's why I said semi-obscure. I'm not saying it's a collection of prototypes and Zip 22s. It's just not the usual run of the mill generic shooter stuff.
@@Glenn_Quagmire I remember the base building and vehicles. The last I rembember were NPC Quest givers which I feel like ruined the tension, horror, and especially the isolation in the game. I always played solo and liked that there was not a living soul on the island. Each place you went to looked like the people just left. That was pretty cool.
1:00 oh my god what is this 1:23 what is AS Val doing in Sweden 3:23 he golds the Minigun like it's made out of plastic 3:35 he spins the drum for no reason, right?
3:35 it's to simplify animations, since if it doesn't, you have to make an animation for every slot, by spinning, the next slot is in the same position as the previous, allowing to use just one
i mean asking what the as Val is doing in Sweden doesn’t really matter because there’s a bunch of other Russian guns in this game as well as guns from other nations lol
despite these animations not really being the best nor the models they scratch an itch in my brain no modern tactical fps game can. These animations are fast and efficient but also feel deliberate and methodical as opposed to the wild flailing and slapping around guns in the newer cod games get
This game has kinda good weapons they have. Sounds and echo is nice too. (Bit strange why 'ping' sounds so f-ing loud as M1 garand or something like, but it's also added unique taste) Only if game itself was good... (As far as I remember it was just dull FPS with marathon to point A to B, you know)
I need Mr. Fergeson, Keeper of the Firearms and Artilleries at the Royal Armories Museum in the UK, to review this game only for THAT experimental Carl Gustav recoilless rifle 😂😂
Before you get mad at me for pointing out the obvious, I am not here to nitpick on the game for its horrible models nor animations. - 0:03 Volkov’s Magazine Release wasn’t engaged - 0:18 Bullets cannot drop without using the extractor
You can nitpick it's horrible models. Everybody knows the game has bad weapon models. I remember buying the US weapons pack and never using the m16 because it looks so terrible.
To be fair the Automatgevär 4 and 5 are actual destinations for Guns in the Swedish Military, the 4 being a G3 and the 5 being a licensed clone of the FN FNC
I love them. I love silly fake gun names. Even came with some myself. "Belladonna Mil-9" M9 "Penrose Magpie 200EL" Chiappa Rhino 200DS "Gaston" Glocks "Cobra 1911 (C1911)" M1911 "Touro Mad Dog" Raging Bull and a lot more that I should put in a txt file
Rather inconsistent stuff here. Seems like animators got switched halfway through? Certain reloads look quite good, like the AK and the Carl Gustav one, and then there's the SPAS which looks unfinished lol
Well they might not like it if they weren't paid. Like many other companies gun manufactures tend to prefer getting paid if there product names appears in other companies products.
Go look at Payday 2 animations, Insurgency: Sandstorm animations, Squad animations, or Battlefield 5 animations. This game has shit animations, definitely an industry low.
I don't personally like many of the animations, seeing as they are rather inaccurate and awkward. Some of the models are a bit jank as well, though most are decent or good. That bring said, I do like how a lot of the base game weapons have some natural movement to them. The animation team may not have a perfect grasp on the function of all of the weapons, but they're mostly serviceable, and I like how the character fumbles a bit on some of them. It's not great, but it's soulful.
@@pinapplecheesecake4211 dont know about stylizing, a lot of guns are stylized for alternate design but they still retain a lot of details of the real one, the M16 is just a rectangle which looks weird, it needs more geometry
Bad models, bad animations, and bad sounds, all from a game I've never heard of that apparently has the same animator from Payday 2 . . . how are these guns so badly displayed when Payday 2 had some of the best models, sounds, and especially animations for its time?
@@eamonfitzmartin998how are the animations bad??? (Besides the ones that were animated after the payday 2 animator left)Get your eyes checked man like the animations are weighty and have a good feel to them and the models arent even that bad besides the m16 and plus models were changed for copyright reasons
