The biggest example of the ripple effect is expressed in John 3:16, because God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten son... a blameless and sinless person died in the most gruesome and painful way, and the ripple of that, is so that we as sinners, can have hope for eternal life.

Just in my own life I've seen first hand how the decisions of some in a family have affected their children and grandchildren. A lack of commitment to marriage that has gone through 2 generations of family members not staying committed or wanting to commit to marriage at all. Same with drug and alcohol use. There's something evident about how the actions of 1 or 2 impact the actions of multiple individuals in the same family. Everyone makes their own choices and is responsible for them but those choices are heavily influenced by the ones who came before them. There's an undeniable cause and affect from person to person.

This is not what is talked about in the bible. The god of the bible holds all humanity responsible for Eve's sin. Also consequences are one thing, God getting his feelings hurt and intentionally bringing the sins of the father unto his kin is immoral. "I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation."

I see the ripple effect in my life. My ancestors were slaves. One slave was 14 when her master repeatedly raped her and she bore 4 children. One of those children is the descendant on my father's side. Because of this tragedy not only was I born. I am a strong believer in Jesus and I'm preparing myself to be a disciple. Not only that, I was born and raised in the USA, far different from what this country was for my ancestors and even my parents under Jim Crow laws. I'm not the type of person to want reparations from my ancestors or parents treatment when I have never been through any of it. I thank God for his mercy and my ancestors and parents for their sacrifices. I make sure to live my life with Jesus and make sure my descendants are headed to the Kingdom.

When 9/11 happened I was working in a resort town in a hotel, my boss came to me that week and said I have to lay you off (and others) because all bookings for the next month have been cancelled and the hotel is empty next week and for the month at least because flights have been grounded, I was so frustrated. That day, maybe an hour later I ran into a friend who just happened to be in the hotel doing a contracting job, we talked briefly about the attack on the U.S.A. all I cared about, selfishly, and I grumbled, how it has affected my life personally. He told me to go see his ex-girlfriend, she had just taken over running a cafe and was looking to hire a chef. I had worked with her years before, I went that day, was hired on the spot. There was a cute petite Japanese girl working there, we have been married now for 16 years with 2 beautiful, healthy girls and we both accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior in 2014. I see the ripple effect of a tragedy that caused good clearly now. I share with people today when people ask how we met, it was because of 9/11. Praise God.

If God knows what decisions we will make prior to us choosing them then the entire Bible would be a farce especially the Christian Greek scriptures. The preaching campaigns are invitations by God to accept the sacrifice of Jesus and ultimately be saved. If God has already foreseen the choices we will make then none of us can freely choose to deviate from his foresight. All of His invitations become illegitimate since he already is aware of those who will accept and those who will reject. (REVELATION 22:17) Not to mention, there are those who initially accept then reject later by returning to their former immoral or unapproved conduct. (2 TIMOTHY 4:10) Most people who discuss the concept of free will actually convey the concept of determinism.

Wow, man this was a good question, and this is so deep that literally, a person could make out their entire life’s ministry just on this single topic, and I think both men, Dr. Frank and (can’t remember the other guy’s name, this was my first time seeing him in one of these videos), but the both just slightly even touched on the gravity of this subject... Generation curse is a real thing... It can be and is spiritual, physical, emotional, behavioral, and probably much more... One of the gentlemen brought up being an alcoholic, if the father is such, there’s a good chance that one of if not all of his children will suffer the same affliction... The other guys I think his name was Rice, he brought us the genetic “flaws” that sin can produce, this is true... Sin IS the cause of death, remember, before sin came into the world, mankind, Adam and Eve, were both literally immortal, even if they didn’t know it at the time, they were... They were perfect... When we sin, it causes genetic imperfections to occur within our DNA... Some scientific studies have ventured into this topic and theory... When a child witnesses the sinful nature, this behavior is learned... The emotions and actions which effect us both physically and spiritually are all wrapped into it, it comes all rolled into one like a package deal... And these “behaviours” are then passed on down the generations... But it’s the genetic ramifications that sin produces that is quite interesting... For instance, how does a man, who never even met his father end up making all the same mistakes that his father did...? These “sins” are passed down genetically due to sin causing genetic corruption within our DNA... This ripple effect that Frank spoke of, this is true also... Even Jesus spoke on this in (Luke 16: 19- 30) in the story, not parable, but story of the rich man and Lazarus... This life we know are living, these 70- 80 years are just the beginnings of our eternal lives... You see, the spirit within us, which was given to us from God, through His breath of life which he breathed into mankind with Adam is eternal... Remember God IS literally, life... Our souls are eternal... Though, through sin, these fleshly bodies we have are no, not eternal, but in the beginning, God’s intention was and still is for those bodies of flesh to be as durable and eternal as our souls are... One way or the other, we will ALL live an eternal life, either languishing in hell experiencing death and dying over and over and over again in hell along with Satan and his demonic followers, or in paradise on earth or in Heaven with God enjoying the life that He originally intended, both will be forever AND ever... It is these choices that we make now, in this first life, that will decide whether we go to hell or enjoy life, forever.... The only thing that we can take with us past death and into hell or Heaven is ANOTHER PERSON... That’s it... Ultimately, the good that a person can do, is to bring more people with him (or her) to God and Heaven... This is why it is so important that we proclaim to coming of God’s kingdom and the gospel of our Lord Christ Jesus... Everything Jesus said during His time on earth is relative to doing this thing, bringing as many people with you to God... It’s like Frank said, God in all His infinite wisdom, and foresight can see the past, present and future all at once, He knows it all... Therefore, God already knows if a person will stop sinning and eventually return to Him... This is how a person being thrown into hell for eternity for what we would perceive as a temporary sin is justified... You see, what we can only see as a short time, our time alive on earth, that person who commits a sin, we think, oh, he’s only alive for a short time, how does this justify God throwing him in hell for ever and ever for a thing he only did for a short few years... It’s like this, God can see throughout our futures to see if we, at any time, some time ahead if we would eventually cease sinning and return to Him... If that person, regardless of what is in his future, does not cease to sin, why allow him to continue on sinning when it isn’t going to happen...? For us, we can’t see like that, so we don’t know, but God does... Therefore, God IS justified in throwing this person into hell, which is ultimately not God’s choice, but man’s choice due to his continuation in sinning and not even trying to stop... This is that ripple effect which Frank spoke of, in summary, but not entirely be set as I said, this is such a deep topic, and I’m doing my best to keep this short... Our actions and choices now, will and does have effect on our futures and those who are around us as well... I used to always tell people that if you wanted to know the type of person that someone is, simply watch their children... An adult can hide who they truly are, to a certain extent, but children, they typically don’t when they’re younger than pre-teen... Now, the big thing to take away from it all is this, even though sin does cause genetic corruption, and one can be effected by the sins of their father and are likely to continue in the very same sins as their father, one DOES NOT HAVE TO DO SO... Why...? Because God granted us this wonderful little freedom that we call, CHOICE... Ultimately, our sins are our sins because we chose to commit them... I found it strange and odd that my older brother and myself, both committed some of the very same sins that our father committed even though, we barely knew him... Even events of our lives mirrored our father’s life, such as one in particular, our father had one child with one woman (my older brother), then another child with another woman (myself), then married a third woman and had two more children with his wife... My older brother and myself both have a child with a first woman, then another with a second and then eventually both married and had two more children with our then wives... This never occurred to me until my step-mother made mention of this during a conversation we had some 5- 10 years ago... This is how generational curses can effect your offspring three to four generations after you, as God said they would and could... During this time, I’ve personally researched generational curses and I’ve found that one possibly corruption of sin in a biblical times was the disease of leprosy... Even a quick Webster’s search of that dictionary lists leprosy as a result of sin... In the a Book of Numbers, chapter 12, after Aaron and Miriam, Moses’ brother and sister, spoke against Moses while in the tabernacle of God and God Himself came down to punish them, and He stuck Miriam with leprosy because she has sinned due to speaking out against Moses... This is just one occurrence where the result of sinning was an illness... Man, this is such a deep one... I wish Dr. Frank and the other gentleman could post an entire video on just this subject, that would truly be fascinating...

M. Clark Wow! Always amazes me how the Spirit works. It isn’t a coincidence I read your comment. Just this morning I was thinking to myself, what if some unbeliever asks me ‘who cares about eternal life or living forever’. I was pondering for a while and then it occurred to me that we don’t really have a choice. Once we are born we are going to live eternally. The only difference will be, we will either be God or away from Him.

Divya Ruth That is what most fail to realize, it’s only been recent that it occurred to me... It is once we do return to God after repentance and baptism, that we then afforded God’s good grace and literally, we are given access to all the things that God originally intended... Part of that is answers to our lives and life in general biggest questions... Many times I’ve read the Bible cover to cover, and little made sense, it wasn’t until after I dedicated my life to Him that now so much makes sense... (Matthew 7: 7 & James 1: 5)

I often think of sin as poison that is being poured into a river. It doesn't just poison the river at the source where it is poured, but over time this poison (sin) travels downstream (the passage of time), poisoning (corrupting) everything it touches. This is why the penalty for sin is death, as cutting off the sin as soon as possible mitigates the damage it causes.

Regarding Generational curses, something I have heard a lot from my mother who has been a strong woman of the faith for many years now: The bible *does not* say that the sins of our parents will not affect us. Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy, and his fallen angels (evil spirits) persist to that end. We have all heard of spirits of lust, or anger. Jealousy. Gluttony. Addiction and so on. We have heard it said "the acorn does not fall far from the tree". Consider then, a man who quarrels with and abuses his wife, and is unfaithful. How often do we see a child mature into an adult, only to repeat the mistakes (or sins) of their parents? These wicked and evil spirits that roam the world seeking our ruin are given a foothold in the lives of our children because we unknowingly give it to them. That is a generational curse. Paul says "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against *principalities* (princes of evil), against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12

That is impossible, I was under a generational curse that a prophetess told me that I was under in 1999. HOWEVER, Jesus told me in 2007 that he would EVENTUALLY remove what had been plaguing me for so long (through a missionary from Germany that I met in Las Vegas) BUT did not and could not tell me that it would take the death of my Grandma and my Dad (I never knew my mom) FOURTEEN YEARS LATER before he would remove that plague (generational curse) I was SCREAMING at my Grandma while she was dying all because of that generational curse I was under as it caused me to be angry my entire life. As I mentioned that I never knew my mom. She was killed in a car accident (and so was my sister) that I too was in when I was an INFANT. - Long story short, Satan murdered my mom and sister in that accident and because Satan couldn't kill me, he caused me to be hideously angry my entire life. That anger did not even BEGIN to be removed until the 2nd anniversary of when my Grandma died, 42 YEARS after that car accident! - Also, my Dad was also in that car accident, and because Satan could not kill my Dad, he ended up with THREE brain tumors that affected his life, FORTY YEARS after that car accident. This was a parallel to the Israelites fleeing Egypt: God told then that they would be set FREE...BUT it was the GRANDKIDS that were given the blessing, and they had to wait for the older generation to die off BEFORE God could fulfill his promise! - Likewise for me: I was given a promise that what occurred in my life, I would be set free, BUT I was not UNTIL after my ENTIRE Immediate family was DEAD!

But I'm told that this will all be righted in the age to come. What possible good does this do for me here and now?

Jesus has paid for our sins, but until Jesus returns, we will continue to live in the world that God cursed when Adam rebelled. God puts the Holy Spirit in each of us when he saves us, and he guides us in spiritual matters. But we still have our flesh pulling at us to sin, and we do sin. The nastiest Christians are the ones who have convinced themselves they do not sin. In reality, they are not Christians at all. So, what is it that redemption means to a person? That life is going to be easy? That is not true at all. Life for the saved is even more difficult in some ways, but it is far better overall. For those who think end-times is a minor subject, you are gravely mistaken. It is the focus of the bible, because it is the promise God has made to us. When Jesus returns, we will have our full redemption.

The problem is that phrasing of the Bible does not refer to a "domino effect" of consequences. The verses in question are Exodus 34:7, Numbers 14:18, Psalms 79:8, Psalms 109:14, where it states that God visits/remembers the sin of their forefathers upon their children and children's children. The fact that this is talking about is God Himself who visits these sins, not the children suffering the consequences apart from God's remembrance of them. The question is then what does God mean when he "visits" these sins? Is it that God actively punishes the sins of the forefather upon their descendants, or is it that this sin debt (Cup) continues to fill up with every generation, the blood of bulls and goats temporarily covering them until Jesus came and removed it by his perfect sacrifice? We know that God waited 400 years to exact judgement on the Amorites/Canaanites when their cup was full. It was God's mercy to the them that the Israelites had to wait for 400 years. The Curse of Ham is a classic example (see Genesis 9:20-27), which specifically refers to the entirety of Canaan being cursed (not just Ham personally). Pasta, and what would be wrong with such a thing? I.P. you go on and on about how immoral God is, but you have never, ever shown where your opinion on this or anything else constitutes a universal standard of morality. Where is it? What is it? How do you know your standard is true and correct? How moral are you? If you are immoral, how can you judge anyone else, including God? Or, are you the most moral individual of all time? Must be. Here you go again picking just single verses to "prove" your preconceived notions. What are the other verses which relate to this topic? Out of 31k verses, surely there are other verses which shed additional light on this? Why not bring up a dozen such verses if they consistently prove your position? Or is this an exception to what the verses generally say? If this is an exception, why is it? Is there a possibility the context is different and as a result your useage is inappropriate? You like to pick single verses which is called using selective evidence. It is considered an error in reasoning, logic, and presenting a valid argument. Present the other related verses and then explain why your premise and assumption is accurate. Then your argument might actually be valid. Still looking for a free ride with God. By the way, none of this proves God does not exist which is something you have been trying to prove just about forever. This is just another example which shows you really know very little. How about actually studying what some scholars like Geisler or Metzger or similar individuals say on the topic? Then you might be better prepared to write out a competent argument. Individual verses just don't do it. Just about anyone can do that. Presenting a reasoned argument takes more ability. Do you have it, the ability that is? You tried to do so some weeks ago and discovered your arguments were seriously flawed. You wrote out a bunch of verses and explained why God was inconsistent and immoral. You tried to show God was immoral according to your standards and the Bible, but you tried to compare different characteristics. Could not do that logically. They were not comparable. You cannot compare two entirely different characteristics and then say one must only exhibit a single characteristic yet pit the one against the other. You should know that. Failed very badly that time. Since you spend so much time criticizing these apologists, why don't you go and question them face-to-face and see how you fare? They do travel around and surely some have been within a reasonable distance of you. Maybe you really are smarter and better informed than they are. Could really prove yourself then. Try it. Prove yourself.

I don't expect him to be able to address every topic off the top of his head), so I provided some sources. They tried to brush off generational curses/punishment as natural cause and effect. Considering the verses I shared above, this doesn't seem to be the intended meaning of the authors.
@danielpray9089
@danielpray9089 4 года назад
@@incredulouspasta3304 If you read carefully, I was trying to make separate points. One had to do with your past behavior, some unresolved issues, and a tendency you have when posting your views. The second had to do with your most recent posting. If this was not apparent, I apologize. Regarding this most recent post there is an issue I did not address. When the verses from Genesis were used it was not really a generational condemnation, one person has already noted that it was a overall consequence of sin. If it was a generational condemnation and judgement, it would be more of an issue such as theft, murder, or rape by a parent and then the condemnation carrying over into subsequent generations. Might possibly be related to worshipping idols or similar actions. The distinction is not highly clear but there is a difference. If you choose to view them both the same, I and others may disagree, but as I said the difference is not abundantly clear. But, when a single verse is used to prove a particular point, one must be able to explain other verses which present the same topic in a different manner. Only poor scholars use a single verse to support a specific view. Rarely is it necessary to use only one verse. One verse may be quoted to save space and time, but the person making the statement must be prepared to support the one verse with more examples. Are you able to do that, or do you rely on single examples? The important matters are repeated in a number of places in the Bible. And, the one verse you used to support your contention has been addressed by biblical scholars because there are other verses relevant to the topic. Have you read any of their comments? Again, if my comments were unclear to you, I apologize.

An obvious good that I believe can come from a mass shooting is... A Christian hear's of the shooting and is compelled to witness to the people most affected from it and they come to repentance and trust in JESUS CHRIST. Now, those who are most affected can still maintain their Joy in Christ in the midst of such an atrocity. ""I took my troubles to the Lord; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer." - Psalm 120:1 As for the victims: it is why it is SO important for Christians to witness (share their faith Biblically) regularly... "That is why the Good News was preached to those who are now dead -so although they were destined to die like all people, they now live forever with God in the Spirit." - 1 Peter 4:6

If he is the creator and we are the Creation, then how do we have a moral claim on him? . The Christian view is that God loves all mankind and wants to be in fellowship with us, so he provided everything that is needed for that relationship to be possible. It was an interesting answer but it didn't directly answer the question. The questioner wanted to know about generational curses within the family hierarchy which are spiritually based (presumably), for example a violent father produces a violent son, both being subject to a malevolent spirit. I have seen examples, albeit anecdotal, of generational curses which in some circumstances, I would more accurately call generational spiritual traits. Some examples: Anna Nicole Smith's son died of a drug overdose, Anna Nicole dies the same way a few months later (this is an inverse example). Whitney Houston dies in a bath tub from a drug overdose, her daughter Bobbi Kristina dies the same way a few years later. There are more examples. You have heard the expression, 'like father, like son'. This topic was probably origin of that saying. I have seen patterns of behaviour in my own life that mimic those of an uncle I never met. Guess what....that behaviour was occurring well before I knew about this uncle and what he used to do and it is fairly specific. The one thing I do know is God's word which says that when you are in Christ you are a new creation, old things pass away, behold ALL things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5.17

Generation curses, is there such a thing? It is stated very clearly in the Hebrew scriptures that God is the creator of both good and evil, blessings and curses. Deuteronomy 11: 26 See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse: 27 the blessing, when you obey the commands of יהוה your Elohim which I command you today; 28 and the curse, if you do not obey the commands of יהוה your Elohim, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other mighty ones which you have not known(good example is jesus christ). Each person is responsible for their own sins and their own righteousness. Ezekiel 18: 4 “See, all beings are Mine, the being of the father as well as the being of the son is Mine. The being that is sinning shall die. 20 “The being who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the crookedness of the father, nor the father bear the crookedness of the son. The righteousness of the righteous is upon himself, and the wrongness of the wrong is upon himself. So, the ideal that jesus can die for your sins is an impossibility. It is also impossible for a righteous person to transfer his righteousness to another. The following is very interesting; Deuteronomy 5: 8 You do not make for yourself a carved image, any likeness of which is in the heavens above, or which is in the earth beneath, or which is in the waters under the earth, 9 you do not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, יהוה your Elohim, am a jealous Ěl, visiting the crookedness of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, Its not that the children/descendants are cursed because of the father, but that the crookedness can easily be adopted by the fathers descendants. As it reads, God will visit the crookedness of the fathers upon the children to the 3rd and 4th generation of "THOSE WHO HATE ME". So if the descendants love Elohim then God will not visit the crookedness of the father to them. A Good example of this is where King Ahaz of Judah was a wicked king, but his son loved Elohim so that he became well loved by the people of Judah, as proclaimed by Isaiah in Isaiah 9:6, King Hezekiah. Question: "Why did God love Jacob and hate Esau (Malachi 1:3) Answer: Malachi 1:2-3 declares, “‘I have loved you,’” says the TMH(The Most High). But you ask, ‘How have you loved us?’ ‘Was not Esau Jacob’s brother?’ the TMH says. ‘Yet I have loved Jacob, but Esau I have hated, and I have turned his mountains into a wasteland and left his inheritance to the desert jackals.’” But Rebekah’s children had one and the same father, our father Isaac. Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad-she was told, ‘The older will serve the younger.’ Just as it is written: ‘Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.’” Why did God love Jacob and hate Esau? Isaac and Rebekah had two sons, Esau and Jacob. God chose Jacob (whom He later renamed “Israel”) to be the father of His chosen people, the Israelites. God rejected Esau (who was also called “Edom”) and did not choose him to be the father of His chosen people. Esau and his descendants, the Edomites, were in many ways blessed by God (Genesis 33:9; Genesis chapter 36). So, considering the context, God loving Jacob and hating Esau has nothing to do with the human emotions of love and hate. It has everything to do with God choosing one man and his descendants and rejecting another man and his descendants. God chose Abraham out of all the men in the world. The Hebrew scriptures very well could say, “Abraham I loved, and every other man I hated.” God chose Abraham’s son Isaac instead of Abraham’s son Ishmael. The Hebrew scriptures very well could say, “Isaac I loved, and Ishmael I hated.” Hundreds of years after Jacob and Esau had died, the Israelites and Edomites became bitter enemies. The Edomites often aided Israel’s enemies in attacks on Israel. Esau’s descendants brought God’s curse upon themselves. Genesis 27:29 tells Israel, “May nations serve you and peoples bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may the sons of your mother bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you be blessed.”.

This was the old covenant, my friend. We are not Israelites and don't try to say the church has supplanted Israel because the church certainly has not. It is written that Israel will be restored and the Jewish people will be saved. Jesus already judged the covenant breakers in the first century with the destruction of the second temple and the desolation of Jerusalem by Rome. (Matthew 23-24) The example of Jacob and Esau is simply God choosing to bless one person and curse another. God's sovereign will is being demonstrated and nothing more. 'I will have mercy on whom I'll have mercy'

A Aron But jesus is a fictional person! That is what I get from the book of Matthew, over and over again. Its clear that matthew is simply writing a story of fiction.

So.... the God could lie, if he has God reason for it and it will ripple to goodness. Right?

1st generation family curses God,His judgment takes effect for that family.If the 2nd gen will follow the same trend,it still carries the same curse(from God).It goes for the 3rd and 4th generation,else their generation will be wiped out. God's grace and mercy will not be exhausted,neither His curse and judgment if we challenge His character. Better stay on the winning side.

Curses falls upon generations for sin!

That's probably not how it works when you look at God saying "The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself." (Ezekiel 18:20). Plus the generation curse heavily interferes with free-will because when a child is born he or she is given free-will and it would be the most unjust thing to curse the poor child from the get go. So there is no generation curse. Jesus be praised.

Disappointed in this video. This would have been an opportunity to explain about curses. Open doors to demons (emotional bondage) are fear, anger, abandonment, rejection, self hatred, abuse,........ What parents (or anyone) say to children can put the child into bondage. Even babies in the womb can sense when there is an argument and they are not wanted, in which case the child could be born with a spirit of fear or rejection. Children grow up but are so used to their bondage that they don't recognize it; and the demon will constantly put them into circumstances that magnify their weakness. Until someone comes along and calls out the weakness, gives therapy, and the person is taken through curse breaking. This would include renouncing any ancestral curses (witchcraft/murder) and the sins of the parents, as well as their own. The pastor could even call upon the demon to talk to it to get more information, then cast it out. The occult/false religion also open the doors, it's about lies...about ourselves, others....❤

My mother talks about generational curses too. I absolutely do not believe in them. God is not going to curse an entire generation because he is mad at one person.
