Hi Maulin, I always watch your videos and appreciate them. However, I'm just wondering where those beautiful homes are gone Calgary was known for. Many of the home buyers I know are sick of these shoe box type homes. There seems to be no more wider lot homes anywhere. Builders are choosing profit over quality. Thanks.

Hi Rahul, thank you so much for the support and kind words! You’re absolutely right. I’ve been hearing the same consensus from so many viewers. Unfortunately, we’re starting to see a very rapid expansion of the city, without much planning in place. Not only that, we’ve seen the largest growth in immigration population since the 1970s. The city discusses plans for a Calgary with 2 million residents, which means we should be mentally planning for a city with 2.25 million residents. As the city approves new communities, the developers are required to abide by rules set forth by the city, which include heavy amounts of density and more lots that are zero lots. That explains the gold rush type mentality we’re seeing with the lots in the inner city. Those are the last lots left that give the standard 45 foot frontage. While I certainly would like to avoid making this a doom and gloom type outlook, I want to be very transparent with the information I’m getting from builders, developers, and the city council. The town hall on April 22nd will continue to reinforce the push of the city to try and accommodate higher density throughout our communities by doing a blanket rezoning. Lastly, it is profit over quality for some builders. I’ve seen it time and time again. Simply put, if you’re missing the large frontages, I’d highly suggest targeting the inner city communities or slightly older established communities. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
