The dealer put my badges on for me on the house at my first oil change. The OEM “H” badges were put in my trunk, in perfect condition. The new ones I bought off Amazon never came off- I only replaced them after 5 years due to the sun causing the clear areas on badges to become cloudy. Dealer again put the new ones on, as well as 4 in the center of my wheels, on the house. All are still on 5 years later. I added Gen Coupe air plugs and button covers for radio & steering wheel myself. Time to replace my badges again- but not doing it this way. Mine may be a more simple job considering I am swapping out the Gen coupe badges and not the OEM ones. For reference I have a 2013 BK2, 8 speed automatic transmission.. first automatic I have ever owned. Thought I’d miss the manual transmission, but I don’t. Dealer had an after market remote start and sunroof installed - I wanted red (as in that was a dealbreaker for me- it had to be red) and they had to get it from another dealer. That was in 2012. I am original owner- she is still a baby - only has 27k on her.
I’ve got some bad butt ESR rims 19s x7 in the back 6 in front white inner and polished aluminum outer, let me know if you interested they need a lil sanding on front because of verry light curb rash, totally fixable. I’ll be selling them cheap after I change to a meaty 18, these ride too ruff for me. Comes with khumo low profiles, our roads are to rough here in lousyanna lol
I’ve got red tape on the back of mine... should I be worried about them falling of or were you referring to the quality of the materials of the badge??
Dude...hit me up with exactly the ones you purchased (and where). AKA ''with the white backing''. Did you find any without cheesy fake carbon fiber, just all black.
Hey bro I just got mine in the mail today and it does have white tape on the back but I want to know how does the quality feel on those ones? Does it feel like straight plastic or is it suppose to feel like that? I got mine from ebay so if you got those from ebay as well, how is the tape holding up throughout the rain?
So I was wanting to black out the stock badges, would I just use the same method to get those off? And would I need adhesive to apply them again? Or should they just go back on
If you want to black out the stock ones theres actually a decent amount more you need to do, reason being is i broke the old ones off because i never planned on putting them back on. To take the back one off without breaking it you need to remove the trunk liner I believe and there should be screws in there and then after you paint it it just screws right in. Now for the front im honestly not 100% sure how to get it off without breaking it i think the bumper may need to come off but not for sure. Id say your best bet is to see if you can find some black H emblems on ebay or amazon and just replace the stock with them!
This is a how not to do video. People this is how you do it: Back: use heat gun or hair dryer in combination with dental floss or fishing line. Then use automotive goo gone and install the new one. Front: there’s two clips. Undo them and reuse for the new badge.
They have been on a little over a month now and so far they are holding up great. Ive probably washed the car at least 6 times so far and they are still on there just as good as they were the day I put them on!
A very aggressive car, with great lines and effortless balance on the back roads. She's never scared me, I've come close to scaring myself... but she pulls through every time. 2015 3.8l R-spec manual. She's my second Genny... first was a 2010 GT. Can't wait to see their roll out on the new coupes. Actually got lucky... bought her last year and had it brought to Knoxville from Atlanta. 4 years old with 20k miles on it.
