Genesis: Finally it Has Happened to Me

Main Scripture: Genesis 21:1-7
Points:
1. God’s powerful word is always at work even when we see no action. (v. 2)
Question 1: How do you approach God’s word in view of your own life? How do you receive it and live by it?
2. Sometimes the blessing is best when you’re mature enough to receive it. (vs. 3-5)
Question 2: Has there ever been a time when you thanked God for not giving you what you wanted when you wanted it?
3. God’s purposes and plans do not waiver even though we might. (vs. 6-7)
Question 3: Are you aware of the times when you need God to be God (unchanging, unwavering, unrelenting…)?
Question 4: Can feel yourself being unsettled, insecure, and unstable in your faith? If yes, what do you do in these situations?
4. A promise fulfilled by God will make you laugh and it should bring you joy.
Question 5: Has there ever been a time when you laughed off something that later you laughed in joy?
Summary:
“Finally it has happened to me!”
God fulfills His promises even when we’ve given up on them.
-His word is powerfully at work even when we don’t see it.
-The blessing is best when we’re mature enough to receive it.
-God’s purpose and plan don’t waiver even when we do.
-When God fulfills His promise it will make you laugh and bring you joy.
