Genesis: The Sovereignty of God and Salvation of Abimelech:
One Of The Wildest Stories Ever

Gen. 12:10-13
-A change of scenery may not change ungodly behaviors.
We all are repeat offenders in the cycle of sin.
2. A Rebuke from God vs. 3-5
But why did God rebuke Abimelech?
Don’t be surprised when sometimes doing the right can feel wrong.
3. Rescued By God vs. 6
Rescue me Lord!
4. Receive God’s Word vs. 7-8
At times God’s word doesn’t make sense but if He says it, receive it.
5. Wrestle with the Situation vs. 9-13
6. Restored Her vs. 14-16
7. God Will Restore You vs. 17-18
Summary:
One of the wildest stories ever is that our God is sovereign. He knows what He’s doing even when we don’t. And God is our Savior, He can save us from just about anything.
We've learned about one of the the wildest stories one could tell. In many ways it’s almost unbelievable. But as we dive deeper into the meaning of this story we are reminded of just how crazy it is that a sovereign God would be willing to save sinners like you and me.
While we all rejoice when salvation (grace that saves) has been granted to us, what happens when we have to trust in God's sovereignty (His supreme power and authority) confounds us.
The story of Abimelech, Abraham, and Sarah will both confuse us and console us.
I pray you understand we will:
Repeat The Cycle Of Sin
Be Rebuked By God
Be Rescued By God
Have To Receive God’s Word
Wrestle With Our Situations
Restore Those Who Have Wronged Us
Be Restored By God
This is the wildest story ever!
