In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock.
I have a solid diversity taste in Music in general, I'm only 30 born in 94 Music like this will never be replicated nor replaced, 80s music will always and forever be timeless.!
"Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece."
Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Sabrina, remove your dress. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Sabrina, why don't you, uh, dance a little. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your a**hole. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. Sabrina, don't just stare at it, eat it. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.
Lyrics to this iconic Genesis Track: 👑👑👑 All that time I was searching Nowhere to run to, it started me thinking Wondering what I could make of my life And who'd be waiting Asking all kinds of questions, to myself But never finding the answers Crying at the top of my voice And no one listening All this time I still remember everything you said There's so much you promised How could I ever forget Listen, you know I love you, but I just can't take this You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this You know I want to, but I'm in too deep So listen, listen to me Oh you must believe me I can feel your eyes go through me But I don't know why Oh I know you're going, but I can't believe It's the way that you're leaving It's like we never knew each other at all It may be my fault I gave you too many reasons, being alone When I didn't want to I thought you'd always be there I almost believed you All this time I still remember everything you said, oh There's so much you promised How could I ever forget Listen, you know I love you, but I just can't take this You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this You know I want to, but I'm in too deep So listen, listen to me I can feel your eyes go through me It seems I've spent too long Only thinking about myself, oh Now I want to spend my life Just caring 'bout somebody else Listen, you know I love you, but I just can't take this You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this You know I want to, but I'm in too deep You know I love you, but I just can't take this You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this You know I want to, but I'm in too deep You know I love you, but I just can't take this You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this You know I want to, but I'm in too deep
It's probably one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard in my life. It never gets old and it will always be a timeless classic. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
I used to party to this album all the time with my friends in the 90s and in the 80s and oh man we party and have such a good time listening to Phil Collins and all the different artists back then it was fun❤
Yeah, I prefer prog Genesis, "Supper's Ready" and all that, but that doesn't mean I can't love THIS, because I do. Sometimes a pop album like "Invisible Touch" is just what I need to hear. Thankfully, Genesis have a kind of music for nearly every mood. 💚
Yes I'm with you, l much prefer the early 'proper' Genesis, however l do enjoy their later work and Invisible Touch is one of their best post Gabriel/Hackett efforts.
Another week of Genesis' Iconic work especially with this album, and this legendary track. A true one-of-a-kind this band is, with such an impact to all. A track filled with emotion, feeling, and memories for all, and one thats known as one of their best around the world. Long live legends, All the best. Amazing how much of an inspiration these guys have been. 👑
@@o.portista like standing in line at McDonald's and telling the people behind you what's on a Big Mac. I'm pretty sure 100% of the people here know the lyrics
Tony Banks rocks!😎🎹🎶🎼Support Tony by buying 5 or any other of his classical albums!🎵🥳It's the 10th anniversary of SIX - so maybe a good opportunity to buy this album, too! 🥳
Invisible touch album is one of the only albums I can listen to every single song and genuinely can not choose my favourite, my 5 year old loves it too ❤
Beautiful song ,about separation and at the same time about great ,love you made me a big surprise with this song I love her more than my life since the 80's thank you so much my Genesis 👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤Oh ,what a beautiful time it was ,my 80's and Genesis 😉😀❤ Album perfect ❤
My favorite Genesis song ever & absolutely love the music video too!! Memories of being a teen in Summer 1987 in Wilson, North Carolina 🥲!! God I miss the 1980s so much. Wish I could've been stuck in it forever!! Best times to be a kid and teen I swear cause we had actual talent & vocalists & deep songwriting to help you understand the heartbreak and love and loss not just sex and profanity. We 80s kids and teens sure had it good and we took it for granted. God if I had only known would have appreciated it more when I was young
You need to go and listen to Suppers Ready mate, or Firth of Fifth, or Back in NYC or.... This is a Phil Collins solo song played by Genesis. I can only assume you're not a prog rock fan? Each to their own.
This breakup song is about a guy who thought he found his everlasting love, but is now watching it tear apart. He would like to repair the damage, but he cannot, because he is “in too deep.” A band composition, the lyrics came courtesy of Phil Collins. At the time, his Genesis tunes were generally written in character and crafted for hit potential. And it did the trick❕ “In Too Deep” (1986) became the fourth of five Top 5 singles from the “Invisible Touch” album (1986). This piece is used in a memorable scene in the acclaimed movie “AMERICAN PSYCHO” (2000), where the serial killer Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale) plays the track for two ill-fated prostitutes at his luxury apartment. The character tells them : “‘In Too Deep’ is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I’ve heard in rock.” About the music video, keyboardist Tony Banks explained : “The songs that were most difficult in a way were the ones that didn’t have a particular thing to act out. A song like ‘In Too Deep,’ for example, was quite difficult to do - it was just a performance video.” 💚🎵💜🎬💛
This Song Is One Of My Favourite Songs With Great Genesis And Probably One Of The Best Pop Songs, Maybe The Best, From The Amazing Era Of 1980's. The Lyrics, Music The Song Is Incredible Amazing, It's A Masterpiece...The 80's Was The Best Era In Time.. Wish We Could Go Back To That Amazing Best Era Ever...
I love I love I love his voice is magical. I'm crying with this song, Super beautiful. Really, Mr. Phil Collins you're THE BEST and forever... and Genesis too. Give your news please. We love you and forever. Take care of yourself. From Paris, with all my Love and Respect.
🥀👣🥀Beautiful sad love song. I love this song and this Man he's so creative with everything he does! Thanks for posting this video it's priceless to me and God Bless you Phil Collins for sharing your life n love!🥀👣🥀
Genesis could do anything. They did write great pop songs. Remember the tension had left this band when Peter left and then Steve left and the band were more relaxed.
@@songmanl1480 Usually bands with that much tension don't last long. Then they break up. Genesis didn't. They were a songwriting collective so what you talking about, now?
@@quaid667 thought the main reason why he left because his wife had a difficult pregnancy. Don't forget they did a reunion to help Gabriel out with financial problems in 1982 so I don't believe they were in that much odds with one another as you may think. But then again that's what I remember I don't live and breathe Genesis.
@@songmanl1480 he left because he had to lay an egg and Tony Banks doesn't like band members laying eggs all over the place. It's not a very Genesis thing to do.
I heard this song by chance. I was scanning through the radio stations the other day, and this was playing. I saw it said Genesis and thought they sound just like Phil Collins. Fast forward a week or two later, and I'm finding out Phil was part of the group 😂😂
Give him another chance. in 50 years there may be no one who looks at a phone book and tries to find your name. i looked at an old phone book tonight to find my parents names and number. they were UNLISTED!
In TOO Deep, Many TOO Many I have read people disliking this track and i can't understand it, is really complex and fun to play on the keyboard, i like this one better than Throwing It All Away, even though that track is really pretty also.
