I am convinced that somewhere in the world, there are still people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to this wonderful, unforgettable song.
@stefanoperoni6059 Me.. this woman from Scotland, has the same feelings and emotions when I hear this beautiful piece of music.. You’re not alone with that thought. Isn’t it beautiful!
In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock.
Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Sabrina, remove your dress. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Sabrina, why don't you, uh, dance a little. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your asshole. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. Sabrina, don't just stare at it, eat it. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.
No doubt, it's one of the most beautiful romantic songs from the album *"Invisible Touch"* by Genesis, one of the greatest progressive rock bands ever. *"In Too Deep"* is really amazing!...
Myself and my brother were unfortunate to lose my Dad when I was only 13 years old but his lasting legacy for myself and my brother is a love and appreciation of Phil Collins and Genesis. All of our childhood we were raised listening to Phil Collins work - our dad was such a massive fan and could connect with each and every song on a personal level. No matter how many times I have listened to this song it still bring a tear to my eyes every time I hear it. RIP dad, we love you.
Sacou
This kicked off a little period when they had several medium-sized hits with slower, more introspective numbers like this,Tonight Tonight Tonight and Throwing it All Away - but in between they also brought out Land of Confusion.
IN TOO DEEP All that time I was searching with nowhere to run to It started me thinking Wondering what I could make of my life And who'd be waiting Asking all kinds of questions to myself But never finding the answers Crying at the top of my voice And no one listening All this time, I still remember everything you said, oho There's so much you promised, how could I ever forget Listen, you know I love you, but I just can't take this You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this You know I want to, but I'm in too deep So listen, listen to me Ooh, you must believe me I can feel your eyes go through me But I don't know why Ooh, I know you're going but I can't believe It's the way that you're leaving It's like we never knew each other at all It may be my fault I gave you too many reasons, being alone When I didn't want to I thought you'd always be there I almost believed you All this time, I still remember everything you said, oho oh Ooh there's so much you promised, how could I ever forget Listen, you know I love you, but I just can't take this You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this You know I want to, but I'm in too deep So listen, listen to me I can feel your eyes go through me It seems I've spent too long Only thinking about myself, oho Now I want to spend my life Just caring 'bout somebody else Listen, you know I love you, but I just can't take this You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this You know I want to, but I'm in too deep You know I love you, but I just can't take this You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this You know I want to, but I'm in too deep (you know I love you, but I just) You know I love you, but I just can't take this (but I just can't take this) You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps (you know I love you) Although I need you, I'm not gonna make this (you know I love you) You know I want to, but I'm in too deep (you know I love you, love you) You know I love you, but I just can't take this (I can't take this) You know I love you, but I'm playing for keeps

How could I ever forget...........I grew up in the 80's listening to Genesis thanks to my Brother who bought all the album's being the oldest. God what a privilege it was to have experienced that life, freedom from all hate and racism. We learned to use our imagination and creativity and improvise with what we had. A couple of pennies was all we needed to get us by and to think of ways to earn it too. Anyone remember Corona pop bottles with the return pence on top. Or Bazookas with the cartoon strip....these were some of the luxuries we had to look forward to and what about the luck dip bag..endless gifts and sweets for a penny or two. But honestly looking back in those times the music and videos were the way forward, they were so inspiring and certainly influenced us all. We became superstars when out partying, dancing all night and enjoying each other's company on the slow but safe happy walk home. Life was fun Life was exciting Life was about choice and being what ever you wanted to be or dress etc. Thank you for the 80's and all who shared the Life 😇 Oh yes and Thanks to Banks,Collins and Rutherford for helping to re live the memories.......x
I was a baby in the 80s and kid etc..in the 90s and beyond but I know what you're saying it seemed to be a better time. The 90 was great too. So much has changed since the 90s and even early 2000s.
The lyric "there's so much you promised/how could I ever forget?" Must resonate with a million hearts that have been broken, put back together but never forgot the first one. Great song- real emotion.
How loyal is the pianist and guitarist " they started Genesis with Phil Collins back in 1983 , and was still with him at their last reunion concert couple years ago in 2021" that's the ultimate dedication and chemistry.
This is music you'll listen for years and remember every syllable, every chorus and emotion. In comparison to nowadays music : Listen once, maybe twice and then you can't remember the song nor the artist

This song has so many layers. It almost gets better with each listen. You hear something subtle which you didn't notice previously each time. It's quite difficult to pinpoint the high point of the song, but if pushed I would say around the 2 minute mark. A tremendous blend of talent on show here.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤I FEEL AS IF I WERE A PHOENIX RISING FROM THE ASHES, TO CLOSE WITH A GOLDEN KEY ONLY THE CAT OF MY DREAMS TO COMPLETE ME IN FULL MY HEART WILL NOT SUPPORT IT, MY GOD !!!! A.D.
Saudadessss...
Amazing song and great performance from G and P C. This really gets inside, right into the soul. God bless you Phil and thank you for the amazing tunes over the years 👍👋🇬🇧
I remember my father, God take his soul! My father teach me to hear these type of music, specially Phill. For me it's so hard doesn't remember good moments that share together. I hope so people gives chance for apologizes for who make bad in any moment, because life is so short and we need share love and peace.

I always adored Phil Collins. He was my first ever crush, i was 7 and i knew from that moment on, that i will always adore him. Today it was a really bad day, realized some painful things, and felt the need to cry. Was searching for the perfect song that could open my heart, and i found it. Finally i can cry my eyes out, freeing my soul. And all over an loser.
Thanks for liking, watching and listening to my songs, Thanks for your love ❤️ and moral support. I hope you have been well entertained over the years?
In too Deep is the perfect example of good songs are timeless. A true contemporary classic.I wonder if in 30 years anyone is going to remember Kathy Perry or Miley Cyrus; but hell they will remember Michael Jackson, Madonna,REM,U2,Genesis, Pink Floyd and the list can go on.
In 30 years, people will remember the Black Keys and Green Day and Red Hot Chili Peppers and Gotye and Paolo Nutini and Kings of Leon and countless other excellent current musicians.

For all those out there (you know in whom you are...) when you have cherished, loved and that special someone is within your 'deepest' parts, this hits Us All so deeply, you just can't explain it... I believe this Phil Collins (Genesis) special song... takes it too some explanation for each of Us, in whom just know !!!

Gabriel was too minority for them to achieve mainstream success. It's all well and good producing 'art' but lots of people have to like it, Phil Collins combines the quality of pure musicians who know how to appeal to a wider audience and make high quality music which is also easy to listen too. Sorry to the PG fans but with him Genesis would have been like FM without Buckingham and Nicks, probably a band that very few even heard off.
