A trick of the tail, Wind and wuthering, And then there were three. For me this trilogy is the definitive Genesis. Post Gabriel, Phil Collins before the descent into pop musak. This era is by far my favourite and I thank the bright spark for sharing this peak into peak Genesis. Well done
It's the first Genesis I got into...a friend gave me a copy of Wind and Withering and I liked parts of it but then got ATTWT and absolutely devoured it and (i think) listened to it for an entire summer. Then was able to go back and get into all of W&W. It's exciting music for sure and probably the band's favorite time for being musicians, but guys I gotta say, nothing roasts my chestnuts like Lamb. I'm sure you'll disagree but it's my Genesis fav.
Saw this particular tour date while a senior in high school. Will be attending Steve Hackett - Foxtrot at Fifty concert tomorrow night in Rochester with my brother and friends that went to this Buffalo concert 46 years ago. Some things never change. 😀
Awwhh! many thanks for this movie, at that time we listen the records but Genesis never comes to our country, and I was a truly very very fan. Best wishes from Argentina
Wow! That's much better than the 35mm "photos" I tried to take of them in the '80s! ;-) I was going to try to record them on cassette back in the '80s, too, but I ended up trading my recorder in for a front row ticket at the Spectrum in Philly, from a scalper! It was worth it! 🙂
This was my 2nd concert ever, i was 16 years old I'm 62 now and went on to see Genesis about 20 more times. Feb 28 1977 was a very bad snow storm and my brother was supposed to drive from St. Catharines, Canada to Buffalo but never made it home from work in time. My dad wouldn't let me drive his car in that weather so my buddy, my girlfriend and I jumped on a Greyhound bus from Canada went to Buffalo in the storm. We had 32nd row left side on the floor and got moved up to 8th row because our original seats interfered with the mixer. (later at 2 subsequent Genesis shows i purposely bought these same seats knowing we would get moved up each time). The plan was to leave the concert early to catch the last bus back to Canada at 11:00 pm but after the show started, NO WAY that was going to happen lol. I remember the lights going on at the end of the show and thinking how we were gonna get home to Canada. I turned around and there was my brother standing by the mixer, he had only arrived to catch the encore. I remember him just saying wow !!!!! What an incredible memory, I was hooked forever and still listen to all their stuff new and old. Phil was stellar that night. At their final 2022 Domino Tour I was sad seeing Phil in the condition he's in but glad to have seen them one last time. Gonna be a sad day when Phil's no longer around. Reply
Apesar de preferir a fase com Gabriel, ainda é fantástica esta fase dando graças que pude assisti-los no Brasil em 1977. Meu amor a esta banda incondicional e a melhor do rock progressivo ❤❤
Musically at their best. Had to prove they were not a busted flush without PG and SH was out of this world. No one to touch them as a live band at the time. Still prefer the PG era though.
