I guess you can drive it on flat hard surfaces, not on a rough terrain. Plus I don't see any stabilizers to level it if the surface is not perfectly horizontal.
Thanks for this video, it was very helpful. I know the lift has a continuous loud beeping sound when operating it for safety reasons but is there a way to lower the sound or temporarily turn it off/on.
Thanks for watching our channel! We're happy you found the information included helpful. Yours is a very good question. We would like to emphasize that OSHA requires that anyone operating an aerial lift must be properly trained and familiarized with the specific make and model of machine they are required to operate. MEWP training states specifically that you should never use a machine if any control or safety device is malfunctioning or has been tampered with. The answer to your question is operators are not allowed to alter any safety device on the machine. Hope this helps you and others who may have similar questions.
Is there a way to engage the Emergency Lowering cable from the upper control box? I'm just not sure what can be done if you're up in the air and for some reason the power went out.
There is no access to the emergency down release valve from the Genie GS-1930 platform and an operator must never climb down from an elevated lift. If you are stuck in the elevated position you will need assistance from someone on the ground or technical rescue from emergency services. When possible keep your cell phone handy. Aerial lift operators are required to have a safe use program in place before operating a MEWP. This should include a rescue plan in case of machine breakdown. The safest method is to always have a spotter or someone nearby that can be communicated with to assist in using the auxiliary lowering knob located behind the entry ladder on the Genie GS-1930.
Ours goes half way down beeps and stops if you let go of controls and push down again it goes down but beeps more. Also the beacons don’t flash, is there a way to enable them. The aux lowering cable does nothing when pulled?! Thanks.
Thanks for watching our video. Sounds as though your scissor lift has some serious safety concerns. Every operator is required to do 3 inspections every time the aerial lift is used. 1. Pre-operation inspection, 2. Function test, and 3. Work place inspection. If any safety device (like the emergency down feature) is not operating correctly during the function test, the machine must be tagged and removed from service till a qualified service tech can repair the issue. Because it seems you have issues that affect operator safety, we highly recommend that you do not attempt repairs yourself. Get in touch with your local authorized Genie dealer to have these issues corrected before attempting to operate your Genie GS1930.
Read the manual looking for how high can the lift go up but got confused with a few different numbers. Any idea what is the max height the platform can go??
Thanks for watching! The max platform height for the Genie GS-1930 electric scissor lift is 19 feet. The additional spec they generally give is "working height" which adds 6 feet to the max platform height because they determine that the average adult height plus arms reach is about 6 feet. So working height is considered 25 feet for this scissor lift. Hope this helps.
Thanks for taking the time to watch our video. The red knob below and to the left of the emergency down valve handle is a manual brake release pump. It works in combination with the black knob to the right of the red brake pump knob. If the lift is inoperable and needs to be in free wheeling mode in order to push it or winch it onto a trailer, the brakes which are continuously applied until the drive function joystick located on the platform releases them, need to be disengaged. To do this, pump the red knob till the brakes release and push in the black knob to the right to hold them in free wheeling mode. Be sure to read your operator's manual to become familiar with the specific aerial lift you are required to operate.
Thanks for watching our video. In your situation, the safest way to charge the batteries on a Genie GS-1930 electric scissor lift is to contact your local authorized Genie dealer and have the on board charger replaced by a qualified service technician. However it is possible to charge your batteries one at a time with a 6 volt battery charger.
