I was so transfixed on his passion for his tomatoes I wasn't watching him guide us through...but I totally get it, what a sweet expressive man Gerrano is, and thank you ❤.
It’s so good to see you still making videos Mr. Contaldo , I feel like you’ve always been part of my family. Makes me feel good. Stay well, my friend. Thanks for sharing your recipe.❤
Oooo, what a great recipe! I've just bought a whole lot of tomatoes... how did I know!? I'm on a strict budget so the more I can do at home, the better for my health & my wallet... yay. Thank you so much. I've just started exploring how to make my own pasta thingies, so this is a great bonus. I see in another recipe that JO uses sundried tomatoes in his veggie stock - I'd say "two birds, one stone" but I love animals so I won't....
The passion is wonderful. I will use his recipe next summer. We just sold our sailing yacht and bought a house in Greece. I am starting my life as a homesteader, something I did for years when my kids were little. With the sun here in Greece the sun dried tomatoes will be just wonderful. ❤
I’m sat inside a café looking out at the dim, dull sky in Altrincham near Manchester - Gennaro’s video has made me yearning for the sun - but I’m in the North of England !! 🥺
I did some in a airfryer, 100° c for 10 min at a time with total cool down in between, takes ages and I'm not sure it's worth al the energy, but it tastes great, I ate it for snacks.
You can put a piece of mesh screen or cheesecloth on top of the trays or boxes that you line with the tomatoes. I've seen shallow boxes with screens on top made for just this purpose.
You've extracted all the moisture from them. This is the whole point of dehydrating vegetables and herbs to the point that they can't support the growth of bacteria because they contain too-little moisture. If you're nervous about it, you could pre-soak them in citric acid?
