Gino did a great job last season... multiple injuries. Got to the Final Four with 51/2 pkayers. Came within a final shot of beating Iowa. One of Gino's best coaching performances
That remark by Geno was most atypical for him. He's a thoughtful and kind man and that remark was anythhing but either. It is now part of his legacy and it will follow him around, including in recruiting. I suspect if they were honest his own players would admit to feeling less of him because of it.
Yet he took a 7 player roster; a starting 5 comprised of 4 Guards and 1 Forward to the Final 4. When the players reach the NCAA they all have talent, its the coaches job to use that talent to the best of the team ability... he does just that and wins. Looks like you are wearing the simp sneakers, lol
@@MooreCEJr And "Iowa" went to the NCAA Championship two years straight and they did it with an average team at best ( a team that just happen to have the best single player in the game) so Geno needs to salute the coaching staff at Iowa.
All the cc fans coming in here that literally JUST started watching Basketball. And then they gonna take one comment that Geno said (which he wasn't wrong) at the time and just think he's the worst coach of all time. 😂😂 got news for ya Geno tells it like it is. He's not an idiot. He knows how good cc is. Also for all you butthurt fans he didn't recruit her cuz she doesn't fit with the UCONN program. You can't recruit EVERY SINGLE PLAYER. you cc fans are something else
@@theanimerapper6351 He didn't say anything different than he wouldn't say for any rookie going in the WNBA... CC was just that special and proved him in one of his rare times to be wrong... nothng wrong about that... He owes her nothing.
I'm a huge fan of Geno's but he made that little bit of a tirade speech and he was wrong even then and it was frankly looking mean spirited. Now of course it is everywhere, used to show how unfairly so many were treating her. That thing will have legs for quite a while.
To not look like a misinformed hater. Gino needs to be asked & answer. His response on Clark. It aged maybe as better as any take any Mount Rushmore coach in any sport has ever said. He needs to apologize Or atleast admit he completely underestimated how good CC could be. Period. It’s a horrible look.
It’s Geno not Gino. Secondly give up the ghost. He said what he said at the time because she wasn’t playing well then. He’s under no obligation to change his statement now. Are you also saying that to everyone else who said that about her. Not playing in the Olympics was the best thing for her. Got her some rest which she needed
Let's move on from Clank. Everyone is tired of her. Stewie has 6 championships and gold medals but oh my God did you see Clank lead her team to a .500 record
Geno needs to offer a mea culpa for Caitlin. I’m an asst coach for USC Trojans and we all admire CC here at our program. We think Geno openly disrespected a great player and class act.

@@MooreCEJr Did you see his interview with Patrick? He made such a fool out of himself with the dumbest take on Clark possible. It was as bad as Swoops claiming Clark had an extra year (Wrong), that she was 25 (Wrong), that she takes 40 shots per game (Wrong), that her records are illegitimate (Wrong). Open your mind to truth.
@@hochha I did.. again nothing he hasn't said about any rookie going into the W... she proved him wrong and he has had nothing but praises for CC now.. people make mistakes and move on... unlike some on here.
