Man, I love the Seahawks creativity this year on offense. It looks so much better than it has in the past few years and its refreshing to see change even when there are challenges. The Wildcat snap, the Geno fake direct snap to walker, the double pass. I know we're getting some attention, but I still think they're getting better and its going to shock some people. Thanks for doing this breakdown and giving our team some love

I can't think of many NFL QB egos that could've walked in Geno's shoes without hanging up their cleats. It's such a great story about the value of perseverance and self belief.

Also has a lot to do with the image of the black QB. In the past their skillset as scrambly guys who can't read the field was put aside for the 'game manager'. Now in the modern game scrambly QBs who can make quick reads post snap and arrive at a decision hold great value to smart and creative play callers.

@@HBG313 Where am I wrong? Been a spectator of the NFL for over three decades and I have seen this similar scenario go down. Even more interesting as the modern offense has now catered to mobile QBs with 'game manager' skillsets as a decent baseline.

Thanks for those Geno reviews. I love the Seahawks and I have been positively surprised. On the first play where Geno misses Lockett wide open, does the OC tell Geno that he missed Lockett? Do they re-run the same play again in the same game? How about the DC on the other side? On the INT, K9 (the RB on the play) is a rookie. I'm sure he thought he was still in college. In the NFL, those DBs are athletic freaks and are trained to jump and cut off routes. Do you believe Shane Waldron can be the next hot coaching candidate? His work with Geno cannot go unnoticed. Geno is more than just a feel good story. It shows how someone can take another team 'reject" and turn him into an elite QB.

Good to see Geno finally getting a fair chance in a good situation - something he really didn't get years ago with the J-E-T-S. On that final play, it was hilarious to see Metcalf turn down that blow-up opportunity on 25 and to see 25 kind of just give up on the play.

16:10 Love you talked about those 'ambulance shots'. People who never played this game at any level will think that play is just what it is and you move on. But you NEVER want to see that kind of relationship between a WR with a QB leading those kind of passes to them. Overall I liked how Geno adapted to Vance Joseph dialing up his blitz and pressures in the end. He may not always get to Lockett/DK when they are open down field and he is prone to bone head decisions. But his overall vision and decision making has been great and has shown up consistently every week.

25:13 the Seahawks run this play action naked boot with the front side TE coming across the formation a lot as of late and it seems like they get 10+ yards guaranteed on it. I bet it’s very comforting as an offensive play caller and a QB that you have an easy pitch and catch for a first down in your back pocket like this

havent watched the vid yet, but I came for one reason: Genos awesome mechanics. When Geno Smith is able to throw from his base, I know the pass is getting completed. He's accurate and strikes fast. I think all his problems come from when he has to change his throwing angle or throw off base

but what's wrong with russ and the broncos man. how much of it is russ and how much of it is the scheming and gameplanning? i know the repeated examples of him being unable to throw into the middle of the field earlier on but is it still a consistent problem? is he consistently unable to progress through his reads? are his receivers getting open? are the plays complex enough to scheme players open?

Zack Moss was inactive, but he was inactive on the Colts because the Bills traded him in the deal for Nyheim Hines. James Cook WAS second on the depth chart behind Singletary, but that’s only because Hines just joined the team. I suppose it’s possible they split true RB snaps between Cook and Singletary while using Hines more as a slot WR going forward.

Yeah I think it's because of how much pressure the Cardinals got on him in the last game. The game-plan must've been to get the easy chain-movers. I'm sure Geno will see that in the film room and correct it. If not it could be an issue.

He's doing really well! Sometimes he does get a little Bridgewater-y where he takes the easy short throw when there are big plays available. Again, as you said, it's not the "wrong" throw but man Tyler Lockett and Metcalf were wide wide open on those plays like sheeesh. I think he'll see this in film study. And one other note. In our first match-up they were creating a ton of pressure on Geno so I think the game plan was to get receivers open quick and not go deep.
