We recorded this 4k ultra hd video during our trip to Genoa, Italy on June 2019.
Genoa is the capital of the Italian region of Liguria and the sixth-largest city in Italy. Located on the Gulf of Genoa in the Ligurian Sea, Genoa has historically been one of the most important ports on the Mediterranean. It is also the birthplace of Christopher Columbus.
Part of the old town of Genoa was inscribed on the World Heritage List (UNESCO) in 2006.
Our guided walking tour is about 3.4 miles (5.5 km) long, starts at Ferrari Square, ends at Carlo Felice Theater and covers most attractions and historic sites of Genoa.

The Venetian Republic may have been "La Serenissima," but it's easy to see how the Republic of Genova earned the moniker "La Superba." The grandeur of the architecture, the magnificent port and stunning monuments tell of a storied, almost mythic, past, a past that it clearly (and proudly) wears on its sleeve. I feel like Genova often gets overlooked on the Italian itinerary but, when I finally make it to that glorious country, it's actually the first city I'd like to visit! Thank you for making this beautiful HD video on my hometown country. Genoa has been an Independent Republic from 1096 to 1814, we were a huge finanicial Power and we had financed half of the europe crowns. And this Is Is why they made us fall. We would be richer than Switzerland if we hadn't been illegally occupied by italy. Long live Genoa and St.George.

I was so pleased to see a walking video about Genova. I am a fan of your channel, your videos are stunning. It would be lovely to see a second video of Genova but walking from Piazza Ferrari down Via Venti to the lovely park in Piazza Brignole, Parco Vittoria and then walking back towards Christopher Coluimbus's house. There are some lovely walks from Via Venti, Walk up Via Sofia Lomellini which takes you on to Piazza Corvetto and some lovely parks around there. You get a lovely view of Genova too. There is also a walk down Corso Torino to Corso Italia where the beaches of Genova are, again lovely view. Thank you for making these awesome videos. They are a joy to watch!!

Thanks for the tip ! I know Lucca, Pisa, Siena, Florence and Volterra but Genoa is something I had only seen from the motorway bridge passing the harbour. Now I know what Italian city to visit next time.

@@gc_1986 ci siamo ancora!! Un po' di inquinamento da altri paesi..ma essere Genovesi è uno stato mentale. Pensa che la famiglia "Durazzo", ricchi commercianti arrivati a Genova nel 1400 e poi imparentati con famiglie nobili come i Pallavicini, era originaria dell'Albania. Però erano ben integrati, lavoro e serietà, e sono comunque considerati Genovesi da secoli!! Ciao

E come tali vogliono essere riconosciuti perché si sentono più genovesi che italiani per il seguente motivo: Il 26 novembre 2008 il consiglio comunale di Genova, ha fatto apporre sul marciapiede di fronte alla statua del re Vittorio Emanuele II, sita in piazza Corvetto, una targa che ricorda i tragici fatti dell’aprile 1849. «Nell’aprile 1849 le truppe del Re di Sardegna Vittorio Emanuele II al comando del generale Alfonso La Marmora sottoposero l’inerme popolazione genovese a saccheggi bombardamenti e crudeli violenze provocando la morte di molti pacifici cittadini aggiungendo così alla forzata annessione della Repubblica di Genova al Regno di Sardegna del 1814 un ulteriore motivo di biasimo affinché ciò che è stato troppo a lungo rimosso non venga più dimenticato il comune di Genova pose» D'altronde è anche vero che: "I Genovesi non si raffinano in nessun modo: sono pietre massicce che non si lasciano tagliare. Quelli che sono stati inviati nelle corti straniere ne sono tornati Genovesi come prima"-Montesquieu

Lo so che ci sono i genovesi...ero ironico anche perché in questo video se ne vedono di tutti i colori, poi conosco Genova come le mie tasche e vedere quei quartieri genovesi al 100% pieni di gentaglia mi da molto fastidio....parlo di caricamento sampierdarena i vicoli ecc ecc posti dove anni fa potevi girare tranquillamente mentre ora,.... vabbè lasciamo stare va

Another useful live walk. Some lovely architecture but also some pretty grim areas like the cruise port and pré neighbourhood. Genova probably not in my top ten places to visit after lockdown! Having just watched your walks in Malaga & Seville they will definitely be higher priority. Thanks again.

Questa passeggiata su alcune strade di Genova da solo in minima parte l’idea di Genova, molte altre parti della città sono altrettanto belle e l’interno di alcuni edifici come vie sono da vedere con più attenzione.Genova è una città che nasconde le sue bellezze al viandante e quindi anche al turista,pertanto vale molto di più di quel che si vede.

Nice video, i like it! But i think that is more respectful to use italian for call the proper names of italian cities... it's so annoying when tourists ask for diractions and use the english version of city names. It's like I come to England and say Londra for London, it's okay to use Londra or Genoa but is more respectful to use London and Genova. (then use the name of the city in the language of the city state)

Il ponte è stato terminato il 29 aprile come detto e dovrebbero aprirlo a luglio causa covid che ha leggermente ritardato i lavori, le famiglie erano state sistemate prima in alberghi e poi in appartamenti. I proprietari delle case dovrebbero essere stati risarciti
