I thought i'd have half an hour to play some of the lovely styles that are in the new Yamaha Genos 2 pop section. If you'd like me to cover another area of Genos 2 let me know in the comments below.
I'm still very happy with my first genos, please note that i watched as many videos as I could to learn, but you're videos were the most useful for me, i truly love everything you do leigh, you're the best.
Don't just watch, but subscribe as this will encourage fellow like minded musicians and others to continue enjoying such a brilliant channel!
Yes I got my Genos-2 three weeks ago from Bonners and am trying to figure out what style to use for each song I had on my Tyros-5, I must say it’s a great keyboard, have fun.
Hi Leigh. The ABBA song is Don't Shut Me Down. It was the second release prior to the Voyage album that just came out. The first being, I Still Have Faith In You, of course.

I love the layout of this board been playing sx900 for a long while i would love to upgrade but seems like the rhythms and sound aren’t really that different than what i have now i love the sliders to adjust on the fly
You are Great, I have only had me Genos-2 three weeks and am trying to match up the new styles to the songs I played on my Tyros-5. I wish Yamaha would give us a list of songs for each style, don’t you.
@Leigh Wilbraham - In sorting out my mass exodus of yamaha kit to make way for a g2 when can afford, I have a fair few variations of tyros speaker bits and bobs, do you know if the MS04 is compatible with the g2? If so, I have a black set that I will keep back. If no good, then will add them to the bundle to auction.
Yamaha really need to update their one touch voice settings. I noticed a lot of them have the same generic strings for OTS3 which aren’t suited to the style selected
Leigh Thank you so much for your demonstrations. I discovered your channel about a month before the G2 release.. I have been waiting on the Genos and have a few questions that you may help. It is at a minimum a 6 hour drive to find a store with a Genos to demo. I have the PSR970 and the PSRSX9000. I use mine differntly. I play in live bands as the utility player and piano man. Seldoom will I use the stylyes except for fun on my own. I play various stlye shows in my town. Sometimes I have an extra key player in the band and may let them use the Yamaha as it generally has the best sounds. So I listen to original recordings and try to match voices for each show. I split the keyboard into the 3 parts and use the registrations for each song. I'm wondering if you would consider demo separate voice and the articulations. Many voices when buried in the band add, however, taking a lead break becomes too obvious it is a keyboard. If you could help my soloing I require fiddle, pedal steel, dobro, harmonica, mandolin, cello, string quartet, sax. I have live horns in most shows. Sound effects I usally find and MP3 and set up to trigger in a song file. I set up a 2 keyboard stack with my piano on the bottom. I tend to play too hard for the action on the work stations to handle properly. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions. I in the United States
As much as like to say yes to all things - I feel you really have to play one for yourself. Genos vs synth is a very different beast and could be that you’d like the Montage M more. I really cannot say my friend.
Thank you for a replay. I have tried the Montage (our stroes stock that keyboard) I really prefer authentic instruments and no interest in programing voices. I'll keep searching for a demo of the indiviual voices. Thanks again @@LeighWilbraham
It's really nice to listen to your demos 🤩. I really liked the song at min 34.32 but I don't remember the title. Would you be so kind as to remind me? Thank you so much. 🙏❤
Hello Leigh, I wanted to ask you and give me advice due to the great experience you have in high-end keyboards, in which online stores can I buy the best samples and Hammond organ sounds for Genos, and I also wanted to ask you if you like the Genos 2 or the Korg Pax5 better. Congratulations for your good and detailed tutorials, and a cordial greeting from Granada (Spain)
Prices started off around £3999 in the UK and have dropped to around £3750. It has a “retail” price of £5200 but that’s just taking the P. It’s an inflated price to give the impression that you’re buying a bargain. I remember when Yamaha flagship would cost £1999.
@@LeighWilbraham 🤣😂🤣 you are mean ! I'm curious, besides playing with it with the factory styles, if you can create something new, to prove that it's just a toy !
:-) i had the Korg for a while - and being honest, loved the Little Pa700 - it could make some great sounds. It's just a shame so so many owners get rid of it purely down to the way it works and the interface. It has bags of potential to be good. @@adinek28
Some of the guitar sounds are strong! Mixed bag...i just think the accompaniments have progressed so much they have left some of the voices way behind...my opinion for sure and for a circa £5000 machine it should all be top drawer.....
@@LeighWilbraham I don't mind adds here and there but a couple adds every couple of minutes is ridiculous. I won't buy RU-vid premium because they arbitrarily censor and defund for undefined and ridiculous reasons. You'll find out when you start earning good money and they start looking for reasons to defend you. Maybe for playing a song for too long or playing something YT finds it's violated something. Your videos have great humor and are very informative. I'll most likely join your pay site once i get my Genos2.
