I love how they give Genos the best animation and fight scenes, it's always moving when he starts the fight and got the most awesome fighting music of any anime. But the best thing is that they make him fight hard and mostly lose. He would be one hell of a nice protagonist in another anime. I just love the serious shounen touch they give him while Saitama is the slapstick overpowered main character
Agree. It's probably the best part of the satire. Many Shounen anime would have the “coolest” or “most detailed” character being the OP character. When you see Genos you can plainly see that. All the features in his body armour and weaponry are given loving detail but when you look at Saitama it's the entire opposite.
Genos needs his own anime, like from his back story to where he achieves his goal of finding that guy who turned im into a robot and whatever else he did, been a while since I watched S1
Sad part is that this is is theme, he's my favourite hero but he just fights the the strongest people first although they made him weaker than he seems
@@abucketoftears even deep sea king. genos woulda prob won if either the sea king didnt try to spit acid on the girl or if people werent in the way. genos made sea king ALOT smaller when he did that huge punch on it. he could easily shrivel it up into ash.
@@stephaniejohnson5361 yup!! Agree. I almost forgot that he dropped his guard twice and protected the girl during the battle.. he is actually awesome, people only see his unfortunately losses 😔
I love Genos as a character. He is only out for everyone’s best interest and really does care as a hero. He strives to be better, even if it means destroying himself in battle to win. He’s selfishly self-less and it makes a very cool flaw to watch happen on screen when he realizes he can’t win and resorts to self destruct. He obviously isn’t the strongest, that belongs to Saitama and anyone else. But he is a human character that I love to watch develop and learn. He may have only small incremental growths, but for Genos those small growths, whether they are just small upgrades or new weapons are the difference between victory and defeat.
And his upgrades always persist to his previously lost battle. His arms was ripped off, so now it's able to be taken off and put back on. He was too slow to move the pedestrians out of the way, so he had to take the blunt of the acid to save them. So he now has accelerate and can detach his arms without trouble. Super cool detail.
He loses to major monsters but he wins against small fry ones like G4 he almost beat garou he defeated armored gorilla and to top it off if elder centipede didn't have a regeneration ability he could've beaten him
I believe Genos has 6 wins under his belt. Armored gorilla, G4, awakened cockroach, some demon level monster in one of the OVAs, and he beat mosquito girl and deep sea king in a rematch in one of the audio books, accept those last ones may not count because he still lost the first time
He would have definitely smashed deep sea king if it wasn’t for the civilians. He was literally beating his ass with one arm missing until the little girl needed saving.
I love that Genos gets stronger everytime he loses. He gets upgrades which make him more powerful everytime he fights. He was able to hold his own against Garou and even gave Centichoro a run for his money. His constant upgrades are what make Genos amazing. He’s an extremely powerful and talented hero.
@@aidenharper6013 Garou is like Goku and Vegeta. he seems to get stronger the more he fights and gets beat up. Even Silverfang and his brother together couldn’t finish him off. He just says “pain? fuck it imma just get mad”
@@fulltimeslackerii8229 exactly my point. If Silverfang and Bomb hadn't shown up we'd be saying "Genos? Yeah he was cool till he got turned into a printer"
Genos is so underrated, he’s an amazing character, Amazing power, great heart and personality, and extremely over the top speed, I mean he’s perfect, plus his fire he’s basically the best character in the show, not by strength, but overall in personality he’s the best in my opinion.
3:34 The fact that they bothered making that slowmo kick animated in 1s instead of a moving pngs is absolutely incredible. No unnecessary, but so frickin badass.
I love that small little detail when he says "machinegun blow" when he's fighting with one arm, instead of "blows" when he's normally fighting with both arms.
Yea the details in that fight scene were phenomenal. Also the little running start bounce step that deep sea king does when he pile drives genos through the wall was so cool.
And the fights were even more impactful in the manga... And monster association arc onwards had more detailed panels, which shows you how done the mappa animators are for S3
How could you miss the baddest part of any fight scene with him in it? Where he blasts Garou then fired his rockets to stand him straight up instantly and then glares at him slowly! That's the best freaking part!
@@valexor89 Nah I don't think so, it's just that in the fight with Elder Centipede, Genos did so much that I think he could probably clap Garou, but maybe with his awakening Garou will fight Saitama himself.
@@valexor89 Depends how you looked at this fight, though yes. I'd say they're almost comparable. Problem is, unlike with Elder Centipede where Genos doesn't have anything to worry about collateral, he just spams his incineration cannons that even Garou agrees is bad if it ever hits him. Garou is just lucky he got a lot of "bodies" to somewhat stop Genos from just spamming his cannons, cause let's be real. It ain't h2h that Genos specializes with, he's more of a glass canon and relies more on his cannons. Does not mean he's a slouch at h2h though (literally this was his first time fighting someone using martial arts that specifically counters h2h combatants, but still does well)
Who realized the de-grade of animations from season 1 to season 2? its really astounding how the animation went from top tier to... season 2... more or less genos has some rlly cool fights.
I really feel like genos is the audience stand in character, he's so cool like we all would like to think that we would be when fighting monsters and bad guys, and he seems to be the only person that fully appreciates just how OP "caped baldy" is as much as the audience.
It's great that Genos grows, both in power and technique. In the Sonic fight, he's constantly behind Saitama, just like Saitama moved straight behind him. Pointing it out to anyone who missed it :)
I understand that the edits were to prevent copyright, love how you still managed to montage it in a way the fight seems natural. Without leaving out many important parts.
Even though Genos loses a lot he puts up a really good fight. He can stand his ground its not like he gets instantaneously ripped to shreds in seconds, he usually gets ripped to shreds in a couple of minutes
everytime i see genos when he appears against garou gives me the biggest chills ever, its so badass of how he just appears and creates a giant dust cloud and you don't know who it is until you see him, but when you do see him you see his new version and its so cool. not to mention the music capping off with the "im going to eliminate you" at the end of that episode. such an amazing scene.
Genos is to powerful he never loses he destroyed the deep sea king like I mean he is so powerful. When he fought saitama he held back to let saitama win because he is to powerful
Genos really has the best fighting styles and techniques the only problem is that he is a full cyborg like he's literally robot, it dampens his abilities like strength because his power is limited to his components.
genos is like that classmate who always does his best to win or reach his goals and even though most of the time he doesn't achieve it or achieves it but not as he thought he would, all his teachers and classmates congratulate him.
0:00 - Mosquito lady - L 1:43 - Armored gorilla - W 2:23 - carnage kabuto - L 3:30 - Saitama - L 4:34 - deep sea king - L 5:59 - speed o sound sonic - tie 7:41 - weakened Garou - W to a tie (Bang and Bomb showed up)
Yeah but both are badasses they have their own paths to be the strongest no one cant compare to genos cause he is cyborg that is struggling his life to be the best disciple ever of saitama thats he bring damn fucking coolest moves ever in fight and got badass the way he fought is incredible 🔥🔥
I love how genos improves himself after battles, i remembered he developed a glue designed to slow down sonic, byt most importantly his arms now work when they are detached, he saw that the bad guys always manage to get them off
I love the sfx of his punches, especially when he does his machine gun blow. It sounds like Laser guns. As well as when he lands those hits you can hear the metal doingthat Ding* sfx
Genos almost always loses because he always chooses fights with opponents WAY out of his league, and he learns from those fights to improve himself even further. I'd like for this show to turn out more in his favor: actually defeating a dragon/god level threat.
Genos is one of those Characters That doesn't give a damn about getting wrecked in his battles he WILL Fight till he can with whatever he's got up his sleeves and he doesn't lose hope on getting better although most of the time he loses any small upgrade is a big deal for him that's why we all love Genos👍
Most os the time when Genos loses, he comes back stronger than the enemy who defeated him. He can almost defeat every enemy one on one except some guys.
