Between Versions 3.8 and 4.4 of Genshin Impact, a strange, large chunk of land was hidden below Liyue. What exactly was it? Follow on Twitter for sneak peeks and strange finds: / moosashiden #liyue #genshinimpact #genshin
That was also the exact location for when you open a minimap during a certain quest/domain (iirc it happened during the ninja dog event). Probably just a default location for the minimap when the game doesn't know where the players are.
also happens during lisas story quest! don't recall when exactly, but at some point you are told to go meet up with lisa (iirc it might be at the start, once ur done talking to her in the library) and if you open the map quickly enough it tells you the quest marker is all the way in that spot in liyue!
I once broke a quest by dying in a cutscene with only the traveler in the party. When I respawned the quest marker moved to that area, but it was like 200m under the sea level and I had no clue how to reach it. I restarted the game and it went back to it's normal location.
I also had this happen to me in Shenhe's interlude. I was standing near her house and next point instead of going to her house, showed to go there, I went and spent a lot of time searching for a hidden cave. Then I iirc went to the teapot and then the coordinate changed back to her house.
Back in 3.2, there was a bug during the Archon Quest where the quest marker pointed almost this exact spot underneath the map It's probably the 0, 0 point of the map
When I was playing domains in coop maybe like 2 months ago, I sometimes saw players being in this exact area on the map after I quit a domain. Usually they teleport to the normal spot after that. One time I teleported there to see where they are and why they went there, they appeared to be under the map judging by the radar blip. When I asked what they were doing there, they said that they didn't go there and it seemed like they don't know what I was talking about. I was so confused and didn't even know what to think of it. After this video, the spot becomes even more mysterious
I've seen quest markers get moved there when I'm in a domain, that place specificaly is pretty central to all the map, so after getting out of a domain you get teleported there as a set point in the normal world to then get sent to the place you were before. About the navigation marker got placed there probably because it can't track your distance from a domain space to a normal world space, so it kinda breaks I guess? Or maybe some quests are tracked not by the place in the map but by the place of the NPC, so if that central point is the same point of map loading, then being outside the map causes it to be unloaded and all NPCs and "entities", things that change position, are put at that same place to then be replaced when you come back. In some programs, adding new stuff to a 3d area can place them at the (0,0,0) coordinates, that exact center point, so maybe the devs placed that model and didn't drag it to the right place and it just stayed there. Or maybe there's no correlation at all, who knows
now that celestia is above a playable area of the map, can you do the elevator glitch and glide to it? if you have kazuha and the fontaine wind current gadget you can glide forever and dont even need to use stamina food, though you will lose some altitude.
Seems like a really low LOD version of the Tunigi's structure~ Maybe is actually the real piece's LOD mesh being wrongly positioned... somehow (?) If there are footage of the whole *Tunigi Hollow* at different LOD levels between 3.8 and 4.4 maybe we could get an answer for this theory~ * ^ *
@moosashi The place where it was is some where near the 0,0 of the map (we know that information thanks to people that have done things such as decompiling the game and creating private servers)
Im betting on this location being the 0,0,0 coords for the whole map like other people have theorized. A while back (pre inazuma) there used to be a glitch you could trigger by talking to an npc at the same time you die with an active character (easy enough to do, just fall from a lethal height and talk to them right as you hit the ground or stand in burning grass and wait for the right damage tick). Doing this would make the game go haywire and basically teleport the camera to near this location on the map, somewhere next to the mountains. The screen would show the faded grey / red of a dead character / going past the paimon barrier and you couldnt move the location of the camera but you could weirdly move around with the mouse. Its hard to explain how it felt to be in that zombie mode camera. Regardless, this location being 0,0,0 makes sense as the default location to send the camera object to when no live active character is detected but the whole party hasnt wiped. It also makes sense that the map designer for tunigi hollow would put this template practice piece near 0,0,0 so they could easily switch locations on the map without putting anything near the sumeru underground which did have existing underground structures that would get interfered upon.
This is so interesting actually. I know it's probably a hard sell, but if you came across any footage documenting this bug online please let me know I'd love to see it!
@@belairidv tried searching a bit in old discord chats, actually found a few times when I'd shared some screenshots with friends but the media is missing 💀thanks discord I remember someone sharing a youtube video that showed this glitch back then though, but it's super hard to find. All i remember is that it was shared around 1.4 or so
I also immediately thought of Tunigi Hollow when I first saw it, but it makes no sense why it would be under Liyue unless it was a weird map origin thing and a dev accidentally reset its position
actually, its probably near the position 0, 0 on the map as it is near this area so it was probably being worked on there and was ment to be moved over at some point
Personally, I have a feeling that this was created as a test for something more majestic that they will add to the game in the future, or maybe it was just a mistake by someone on the programming team :)
they are usually leftovers after creating certain thing and it´s used when needed you know...devs testing new map or event or resolving something...they have are usually some purpose not mistakes but it´s not completely wrong either
I think it'd be neat if Mihoyo just did something funny like put a little shack somewhere out of bounds, and if you get there you find an NPC who basically says "What? How'd you get here? Well, there's nothing to see here so kindly be on your way.". No achievement or anything, just a random fellow.
just like I found multiple wishing screen portals underneath them map. I found one in fontaine underneath the city, one in sumeru near the dendro chicken boss, one in mondstadt near boreas and one in inazuma underneath narukami island
Based on my knowledge and other suggestions in the comments, it might be a glitched LOD model for that spike thing that got yeeted to that location. I wonder if the real spike has been invisible at distance until now since its LOD was displaced. Heck, that might be why you could get to it, it was probably loaded as a LOD until you got closer to the real one. This couldve happened if the LOD got detached from the Unity GameObject of the real spike on accident so it went to the 0 coordinate.
Almost a year ago I had a quest marker in that exact location, far underground. Somehow or another a quest NPC ended up loading there, and I couldn't complete the quest because I had no way of getting beneath the earth. This video makes for a neat follow up!
We actually found the Genshin wishing screen in the middle of Teyvat. It's accessible via ALL the maps. Once you remove the fog (can combine this with the Paimon Barrier glitch (which still works using a different method in 4.4, and can be done in COOP as well -me and a friend of mine have a process for that which we use). It was a trippy area. No solid spots to land as expected, and unless you're coming from Fontaine waters, you'll lose stamina just getting to it.
That's peculiar! Is it just chilling somewhere beyond the Paimon Barrier? It makes sense if there's a version of it on every map in the game, given it's accessible without a loading screen on all maps.
Not even in the Paimon Barrier. Just dead center of everything. At first I thought it would be under Fontaine only, because it was the place where we could easily glide to it from the bottom box of the water with enough stamina left to take pictures, but we glitched through Sumeru desert to get to that one area where the "catwalk" lights were at no fog and it was also there. Likewise, it was visible from under Sumeru -we passed through the turkey boss area- and Liyue. It's just at the center of everything. Closer from Fontaine waters though.
Huh. Interesting. I admit I have never played with the glitch I'm about to talk about, but I am wondering if what you are seeing is a product of that. So, I've heard there's a glitch that causes menu backgrounds (like the Wish Screen) to manifest in the overworld. I believe this was also able to be used to really mess up the Party Setup screen by combining a bunch of the new animated backgrounds. I'm not aware of all the steps to replicate the glitch, but I believe Wish Screen fog removal was among them. My theory here is the Wish Screen appearing in the overworld is a direct result of an error brought about by using the Wish Screen to remove fog. Still 110% super cool even if this is the case! This is just what I'm presuming based on info from you, other commentors, and the tidbits I found via Google.
@@Moosashi I've heard about that. It would make sense since the wish screen was used to remove the fog to begin with. I mean, the current one we use to de-fog the map is the wish screen and an archer. Given that, then...would that mean if we de-fog using other screens, we can make them appear in the overworld? The Paimon glitch can be done using multiple kinds of screens, especially when you do it co-op, where guests have limited interactions unlike the world owner. That's how we made it possible in the first place. If say, we replace the wish screen with the BP or the Event screen...ooohh this seems fun. 😁
@@Moosashi I've played with this glitch many times before (mostly for taking pretty pictures of the scenery without the fog lol). It seems that there aren't multiple wish screens, but rather one wish screen that moves under the map wherever you teleport while the glitch is active. If you do a single (or ten) pull while the bug is active, it gives you a cool low quality wish animation background that i'm pretty sure is a barely loaded location between liyue and dragonspine. Could potentially be around the same area on the map where you found the odd structure beneath the map.
I think I know why it was in liyue. The area that you mentioned between the two waypoints has the coordinates of 0, 0, 0. And it was under the map because 0 in the vertical axis is under the map. Don't know if I'm explaining myself.
I have the CBT Version of the game and couldn't find it there so its not in CBT Ver if your wondering... I could upload a video of me going through there if anyone wants to see it?
Wow I guess it was better to be late than never huh lol. I can't wait to see a video about Chenyu Vale. Let's see what kind of other secrets you will uncover.
I think the landmass was the secret area opened up after the main quest of chenyu vale because my game got glitched when I was just going to enter the fog and see that place and the quest marker pointed at the location this thing was below the map, it didnt correct itself until I restarted the game.
i was thinking about something, is it still possible to return to the perilous trail cave after finishing the quest? it's a permanent archon quest for everyone, not an event, so the cave itself should still exist somewhere, right? not sure though, just asking
From what I could tell when poking around out of bounds in that cave, it's a separate map only accessible via loading screen. As far as I'm aware, it cannot be returned to because of that.
It might have something to do with the bug on one of the quest on Fontaine. Just a guess, coz during quest when you open the map it appears that we are in that area of Liyue.
