Also. If Mihoyo does another anniversary concert. I want to see this live. Would also be great if we can see other CN VA's do a song aswell. Edit: Yep they did it. and it was Grand!
As a Chinese by ethnicity, I am not interested in Chinese Opera but damn I hope in the 2nd anniversary, should Mihoyo organised another concert, I want to see and hear this Opera singer sing on stage "live" with a Yun Jin cosplayer (with wushu background) doing moves with a spear :)
ahhhh that would sound so beautiful I cant- and the CN vas all sing so well (some sing in JPN too it's crazy) (their cover of Hikaru nara sounded SO GOOOOODDDD and their other covers)
Actually all singing parts of Yun Jin in all language is performed by a single professional chinese opera singer. She’s quite famous from what I heard.
@@AgentMulder120 I highly doubt it'll take any more space than it already does lol, unless genshin immediately deletes the cutscene data after it's played
girrl, why did i actually tear up hearing this again? The music + voice is put so well together that it gave me chills nonstop, i almost couldnt enjoy Yang Yang's truly beautiful voice because of the strong chills it gave me. Im so glad Mihoyo decided to do this original type of thing to demonstrate Chinese Opera i almost could forgive them for making everything so expensive, haha.
Bc it’s adapted to modern standards (partially), but again if cn didn’t lose their cultural progression a lot of the cn music should sound like this or even better
huge respect to mihoyo for legitimately representing chinese culture, and not just making it seem like yun jin is just for show. i'm not chinese myself and i've never heard of chinese peking opera, and i'm grateful that i have now through yun jin. this is absolutely gorgeous, again mad respect to mihoyo!
@@kera1998 i know. im just saying, not many companies, or rather chinese companies, out there would be willing to hire a professionally trained chinese opera performer for a video game character.
@@MiiChanx Mihoyo could've literally added any sexy four star girl with sad backstory into the game and community would worship and suck up to her for 2.4. The fact that they took the extra mile to research and design a character based off Chinese opera and cool design is what OP means. And OP is right.
@@3nowStorm Chinese opera is very old, idk how old is western or modern opera is but Chinese opera is possibly as old as their Three Kingdoms literature (which is like 1000+ years old). Chinese opera is also featured pretty frequently in medieval Chinese TV series.
I can only imagine being born in that era, and watching a child of her age learning and practicing their first steps into the opera scene. I've never been into opera, but seeing how much a child loves doing it fills me with a warmth I didn't know I had. Humanity is beautiful. I'm so proud of our community's folklore-representing daughter.
i don’t think you understand the meaning of chinese va it means she’s the chinese voice actress only her singing itself is spread across the other regions but for yun jins speaking voice she has different va’s
I hope we get something like this again, maybe one for each region in the game! It's so nice to experience other cultures through a video game. I never knew about Chinese opera prior to Genshin. I'd love to see more traditional and cultural stuff, maybe dances and instruments too!
@@terrycornelius4 Actually she has two separate VAs even in Chinese, one for normal voicelines and one just for her two operatic voicelines and this cutscene. Her main CN VA is a professional voice actor, while this VA is a professional opera performer. If you don't believe me, go check. She has two CN VAs credited, with an ampersand (&) between them. There was also a behind-the-scenes thing about it, but I don't remember if it was a video, a post on the official website or what.
@@aoriiyes See my previous reply, it's not even her (main) CN VA. Anyway people are commenting on it because it specifies "chinese VA" when it's in every language, and it's not the main chinese VA, meaning it's actually just the "singing VA."
Growing up, I was never a fan of Chinese opera. But when Mihoyo dropped a character representing an age-old Chinese culture I thought had pretty much died out among the younger and newer generations, I felt like I could finally appreciate and embrace the culture much more than I thought I would. Still not a huge fan, per se, but Yunjin is such a cute and cool character it is hard not to like opera even just a little bit. Also, whoever composed this music did an amazing job. I really like the blending of modern day instruments with the opera singing.
As a Chinese I thank you all for liking Chinese opera. I am truly happy seeing you guys liking the singing through the comment section. Thank you mihoyo for spreading Chinese culture globally!
I had a Chinese language teacher (she's teaching both Mandarin and Cantonese), who desperately wanted material to help teach her classes. I think one of my now junior school mates (I've left, but the Team never leaves you, as they say) might have recommended Genshin and other stuff. To help her out I really hope they saw this cutscene update, because this was absolutely beautiful!
It's sounds so cool yun jin voice alone brings alot of emotion because of her tone. I started tearing up at the end because of how good it was bro and now I keep watching her singing because it's so good
WHEN SHE SANG I SCREAMED SO LOUD, the instruments and the vocals were a perfect mix between modern and classical opera music fgdfg 她唱得真的太美丽了!!! I'm so happy with the representation aaaaaa I could feel her song punch through my chest I was so moved!!!
as someone who grew up on chinese household and chinese opera, this is so nostalgic QAQ my grandpa used to play chinese shows, etc etc. on his tv when i was a kid... i'm happy mihoyo decided to bring this up and introduce CN tradition to the world, it deserves more attention!!
As a long time singer myself, it really does take so much effort to sing traditional styles like this. As a Vietnamese, we also have our own traditional opera style that’s directly influenced by Chinese opera, so singing along with yun jin is incredibly fun for me. It’s also why I like singing enka style Japanese songs as well. Overall, I really can’t understand why people would say that yun jin’s singing is bad, it may sounds different from usual singing, but it’s a really beautiful art that’s been passed through the ages.
Me who doesn't speak a lick of Chinese or has any formal singing training: "I'm gonna sing this" It's just so beautiful my god I want to be able to figure out how it works even though I'll butcher it in the first second ahhah
As a Chinese I have to say that these words contain so many traditonal stories which makes the show hard to understand while exremely beautiful and attractive. I got tears in my eyes for this so many times and hope you can enjoy it.
I used to hear/watch chinese operas with my grandpa when i was like 7-9 yr old, And when i see this cutscene it brings back so many memories and i instantly became obsessed with it Idk why some players call it strange or bad, maybe they're not used to it, or maybe they don't like that type of stuff?
I very happy to have Chinese opera translated into a modern epic game that everyone can enjoy It feel like. Japanese rpg type of song it's incredible sensible epic and without any understanding can feel some emotion it's great. We know ccp is not find of gaming but I hope they can drive company toward stuff like that
I'll be completey honest right now - this is my favourite song EVER, alright? I have never heard a song so beautiful, and I'm completely obsessed with the "From the world she seems apart, but there are those who know her heart" part. Everything is so perfect, you cannot point out even one little thing being wrong with this, since there literally aren't any mistakes. I feel so moved when listening to this, it brings me back my memories from when I was around 5-12 years old. I have moved to china when I was 4 because my mother has always wanted to go there, and once we were there my mom just straight off went "screw it" and decided to live there permanently, or at least for some time as it turned out. Once I accustomed to living in a different place, I've bugged my mom to go to the opera every couple months. The peking opera was my whole childhood through the 7 years in my life. Sadly enough, we had to move back just when I was 12, due to my grandfather's demise, and my grandmother being too weak to take proper care of herself. I never really thought about going back to china, but maybe I'll go visit someday. I still have contact with some friends from china, so I guess I could always stay a bit at their places. And then come back a year or two later :D

ooc // this song really is magical, it totally touched the whole fandoms hearts and deserves so much love . the cutscene was very well done too, its all perfect tbh . not to mention the VA did a great job at capturing emotion and voice range , very well done . :)
I can’t stop listening to this. It’s beautiful. This Archon-Quest was beautiful. Thanks to Genshin I fell in Love with Chinese Opera ♥️ I will continue to listen to sich music. And thanks for Uploading♥️
This seen almost made me sob. It was so beautiful. Liyue scenes always hit different, and this one. Oh my gosh, this one...you just can't describe it. It's so meaningful, and the singing is so gorgeous and masterful. I'm also so glad they didn't attempt to dub the singing.
I’ve always loved the opera style singing parts in all the Donghua OST’s I’ve listened to so I’ll never understand how people could even hate on this kind of singing
People make fun of her voice before.. Now that they heard the whole thing, they started to get goosebumps. I'm not into chinese thingy but when it comes to old thingys I appreciate the art. Since gensshin is not based on modern theme i love everything about it. Yunjin singing with music sound realy nice though. Since everyone heard before is just a plane line, it sounds weird specially for the ones who's not familiar wotu chinese culturr
@@peter_4355 you should've watched the 2.4 livestream on Twitch and RU-vid, it was pretty bad in terms of the comments on her singing. Not just Twitter
Have to agree even tho I neve played the game. The part where she appends the story quite interesting bcos the main character supposed to be alone but then the story changes
the fact that people say yunjins opera voice sounds bad its just the opera is displaying the chinese opera of chinese culture and people say that the chinese opera sucks💀
I know absolutely no Chinese but I've been trying to sing it and man does it hurt my vocal cords. It's pushing them to limits i didn't even think I'd hit
Never in my life have I liked opera but this song has singlehandedly consumed my life, it's so beautiful and you can hear so much emotion in the singers voice. It's absolutely breath taking the way she sings.
