He did not run away, but tried to fight to the end, but the battle was inevitably interrupted by the intervention of a third person. Please do not misunderstand him. The captain is a great man.
EN Cap - i dont know how to explain it, it just fits best. i feel the conviction in his voice CN Cap - like an old kungfu master barging into your dojo KR Cap - i might not understand the language but his cadence sounds like he's narrating his lines JP Cap - sounds more like a mastermind of sorts i also noticed that in KR/JP versions Capitano "shouts" while EN/CN "grunts". i like the EN/CN better because it gives vibes of fighting something not human.
i like this. it’s this kind of moments where you can tell how good an EN VA is. so far, I enjoyed his EN VA so much. The same with Neuvillette, well, except the “hummm, huuhhh, hggrgggghhaahh!”
JP feels very hammy in general with Hoyo games. If a character is shouting in other dubs, they're screaming the house down in JP, and they also tend to be shouting in general where other dubs wouldn't be. Generally it does have very suitable voice actors and great performances. Weird issues with JP Neuvi aside. Here though? I dunno. I just don't think this is a great choice of VA or direction with Japanese Capitano. He's over the top dramatic and his effort sounds are too much. KR has similar issues with over the top efforts but I feel like his general delivery is incredible. Low, cool, commanding voice. CN is overall fine, sounds a bit older than I would have expected but unflappable and self assured. Great efforts too, doesn't sound like he's overexerting himself until the end which lines up with the scene. EN is the most hit or miss dub in general for me but the Harbingers have been standout powerhouse performances and this is no exception. He perfectly delivers what I interpret as the essence of Capitano. Powerful, controlled, and capable. Effort sounds are also 10/10.
