Honestly anything less than a 10pull is boarder-line insulting. I have spent thousands on the game and still love it to this day, but it’s sad to feel unappreciated as a long time supporter

If they wanted to do three intertwined fates to represent three years, they could have *easily* done something like "three fates per day for a week" to keep the three and encourage people to keep playing consistently. That would have been received SO much better

IMO the biggest problem is that starrail got a lot of, and i mean A LOT OF qol updates. not even mention free 5* but for example you can pick a selected 5* from standard banner after 300 rolls. or abyss that you can skip easy parts if you clear harder part. and about daily that's takes like 3 min and you can just do it when spending resin. And this 3 wishes are just adding salt to the injury

At this point, Genshin is going to be making changes out of obligation rather than appreciation.

Things like these are EXACTLY why we need another game to compete with Genshin. As long as nobody is competing with Genshin they will start giving worse and worse rewards.

in this situation i only feel sorry for the genshin team who has nothing to do with giving rewards all those talented voice actors, artists, composers, etc.. they did great job with the fontaine and other regions and i don't think this drama won't affect them in any way

They should be worried about Wuthering Waves and I hope Kuro succeeds. Considering PGR, they've been pretty responsive and generous to their community. I wish it changes Genshin for the better coz competition leads to healthy development.

Three fates is way more of an insult than giving nothing at all.

If it's Chinese players that are mad furious you know it's REALLY bad

The crazy part to me is that they could just straight up add a zero onto that number and most players would still get absolutely nothing of value out of those 30 wishes because Hoyo's gacha economy is just that f**ked up.

CN players are the only ones who can sway Miho into action so its good to see they're up in arms about lack luster rewards

it’s about a barrier thing. it was working up until now because they never gave us any meaningful rewards larger than a 10 pull. but the ratio thing broke that barrier showing the fans that they were willing to give away free stuff. and they’ll consider that a mistake going forward.

What I’m worried about is that they will only try to give extra rewards to the Chinese player base and not to anyone else, since it was mainly a Chinese review bomb and all that and since it’s for a Chinese new year event. But I really hope they give us something more then just aquaint fates …

I remember the drama during the 1st anniversary, and all the "seasoned" gacha players said, "don't worry guys, gacha games don't usually give great rewards in the first anniversary. Wait till something like the 3rd anniversary". Well... here we are.

Most creators are saying it, most day one players are saying it, and now the CN players as well are saying it. "We want to be rewarded for playing the game."

If Wuthering waves play it right and gave players Star rail like rewards, they could seriously be the Android to Apple and make Genshin work their butts off for better rewards and everything. A good competition is what GI need, a slap in the face.

the differences between HSR and Genshin can be mostly pointed to the fact that HSR has a pretty strong competition its fighting over players with, while Genshin has long been the only open world RGP gacha (aside from ToF i guess), hopefully the release of Wuthering Waves and other games will help us get Hoyo on track with how they treat their players.

As much as I love Genshin, I really hope that some game devs out there are cooking something up that not just compete but truly rival Genshin. Having no real competition does say a lot on how good the game is in general but it also makes Hoyo think that they have figured it all out and theres not much they can improve on. One of the best examples of this is what Valorant is to Counter-Strike (CSGO). Before the development of Valorant was public, Valve didn't really do anything meaningful or fix a lot of the issues the game had for years. When Riot announced Valorant, Valve almost immediately went to work on improving the game and even started developing a version of the game that runs on a newer and more advanced game engine that now we know as CS2. Now im not saying that what Valve is doing is great considering how unpolished the game is to this day, but the fact that competition was the fire lit under their asses proves the point.

Cant wait for the HSR first anniversary to inevitably be better than any of the Genshin anniversaries. They've already given us a free 5 star unit as well as 4 stars... Genshin cant eveb give us a standard banner guarantee pick make it make sense

Cai Haoyu is main and biggest culprit of this. For those who dont know he's the Lead Producer of Genshin and Honkai Impact 3rd in first few years. As you know HI3rd didn't fare well during his tenure there until David Jiang took over his position, HI3rd exponentially improved under David's tenure. Current Lead Producer of HI3rd and Star Rail is David Jiang. Cai Haoyu never learned on his tenure in HI3rd and is about to make the same mistake in Genshin. Still the same stingy b@stard as he was.

Wait for Wuthering Waves to be released. Having good competition makes this Genshin better. But if Wuthering Waves turns out to be better, then good bye Genshin

I am genuinely believe this year is gonna be the time genshin is going to be "degraded" not "killed" tho since the game is too big to be killed right now. we have REALLY BIG games incoming this year compared to the previous years, if genshin still being greedy and lousy on their QoL and endgame content then its gonna be a big trouble for them. 4th annv wont save them, Source? Me playing this game since day 1 💀

As any live service game (or even AAA retail games), the value aggregated to it slowly diminishes as time passes. This is why games usually enters sales months after release or are given for free during special events. With a lot of gachas they usually give more and more rewards as time passes, to either get new players or bring old ones back. The problem with genshin is that Hoyo thinks the game stills holds the same value as the first day it releases. Every player will burn out of the game, this can take days or even years, and the recycled events and pity rewards will not be enough to keep those who leave.

I sincerely wish that the western world would get on board but most are too convinced that they should "defend" companies

Wait till wuthering waves releases , All of the players will be storming into there , Genshin will have no choice other than to increase the rewards then to get the players back.

What's funny about this is that Genshin Devs should know they're always on thin ice with their fanbase. Their first anniv also had a lot of drama to it, and they haven't learned anything years later.

After learning what Genshin has done with their anniversaries this doesn’t surprise me I’m just disappointed Hoyoverse didn’t learn from their mistakes.

Imo the point is that they improve rewards in general not only for the anniversary or for the new chinese year and also they actually put more effort on adding permanent game modes like hsr does

I was like “Huh!?” when I heard they announced these 3 fates proudly in livestream. Imagine getting 3 fates, equal to 480 Primogem, for previous one-year is like 1.3 Primogem a day!! Wow!! 😂 Anyway, I’m not that much upset about this year’s reward. But it’s because I’ve stopped spending for 2 years already. I’ve sent so many tickets mentioned the same issues I have with Tablet platform UX, but none of them has been mentioned. So, it’s simple, they don’t cared about my issues, I don’t support them anymore. 😢

Let’s not spend any money on genshin until they give better rewards and more endgame content

I think Mihoyo knows what they are doing. If they said ''We're giving away 10 wishes'' same thing would happen and they would be forced to give away 20 wishes for example. They purposefully said 3 wishes so they could apologize and give players less rewards.

I think the Genshin Team knows they can get away with this, because so far, other than being a gacha, it doesnt really have any other competition in their gameplay, while Star Rail has hundreds of competitors in terms of turn base combat. Players looking for a similar gameplay dont have much options on where to move, Wuthering Waves looks like a competitor, but its not released yet so they'll be stuck wandering around and get back to Genshin. maybe once WW releases, and other open world combat gacha games releases, thats when Genshin is gonna try to give out better rewards to keep their players now that they have options to just drop it.

I can relate to you as well. I haven't spent thousands. Maybe a couple hundred and having good rng with characters. But even I looked and felt unfazed because it is something I expected for the past 3 years. Not sure what the players expected at this point. Honestly, a free standard 5 star would be pretty darn good considering they are much harder to obtain than event banner characters. Wouldn't hurt one bit. As for the loadouts, I too said the same thing about it. It's literally the same shit they had already implemented when sorting artifacts, and all they did is add a quick equip. (Which they could have just added a button to quick equip in the same menu they implemented sorting. Stupid I tell you)

I've said this on another video and I'll say it here - The main issue is the idea that they're rewarding long-term players for their loyalty. We've been hoping/asking for a Standard 5-star selector since the first anniversary and back then it would've been a good reward for people who've been playing for a year. At this point, it might be enough to calm the uproar, but it's not meaningful for *long-term* players who've been around for 3 years now. They likely have the entire standard cast at C0 at least and a C6 Qiqi by now. Bare minimum would be adding the standard weapons to the selector too, if not making it a *limited* 5-star character of choice. Loyalty rewards should age with the game and we've been stuck with new-player level rewards forever.

It’s crazy seeing so many people defending Hoyoverse say Genshin fandom is “greedy” and “ungrateful”. If anything, the biggest issue is how the community eats up literally everything with zero opinions. 💀💀💀 Fans wanting developers to listen to them isn’t greed. Fans wanting QoL updates that HSR actually got isn’t greed. Fans wanting MORE THAN 3 PULLS FOR CHINESE ANNIVERSARY is not greed. These Hoyoverse apologists have no idea what criticism is. They are part of the reason that Hoyoverse can do literally ANYTHING and nobody says anything opinionated. Are you genuinely happy to get 3 pulls? Are you genuinely happy that only Chinese PS5 users get a free skin? Explain yourselves Genshin is the king of all gacha games. And as the king, there is no competition to push Hoyoverse to improve the game at all. Thus, they get lazy and half-witted with rewards like these. Someone needs to punish Hoyoverse 🥵🥵

It would be cool if they do the following: 1. Quality of Life Updates 2. Increase resin cap if not at least make it easier to obtain fragile resin or decrease resin refresh time 3. Add actual end game content such as: More levels to abyss as far as you can go, it'll be harder with new enemies combination but the damage characters do will be compensate with the damage boost selector every time we start a stage and the reward can be moras or fragile/50 primos per stage. 4. just give us the d*nm 5 star selector from std banner. 5. Make the desire sub stats easier to obtain for artifacts like c:rate, c:dmg, er, em etc... 6. for the love of archons, please condense the story or at least make a skip button, the quests takes too much time for a single drop of info/lore.

HSR actually gives you a free 5 star selector on standard banner on your 300th pull. This in addition to a free cracked non-standard banner 5 star Dr Ratio. Meanwhile in Genshin there are people who have played the game for years and still don't have all the std banner chars. I have no Jean after 2 years and it took 1.5 years to get a single Keqing. No one is spending money on the standard banner so the smartest thing is to at least offer a choice on anniversary or NY. Keep the playerbase happy means more profits long term.

The thing i love the most is that all of the content creators was sitting quiet with their tongue in the ass for every of past anniversaries and other shitty events, but once china players decided to rebel against rewards, EVERY of those content creators immediately makes their own video ab the situation stated that "we deserve more than this bullsh*t".

They 100% need to give a free 5* selector from the standard banner.

Honestly, im at a point where i would prefer an artifact set selector with the ability to manipulate the substats or an artifact reroll to change the upgraded rolls rather than getting a 5* unit. Getting a good artifact is way rarer than getting a new unit

My opnion is we should keep putting pressure on them even if they give us rewards cause we cant be acting like dogs that start barking when theres no food for us to eat but immediately stop barking when we get just a bit of food... we need to "bark" until they realize they need to treat us like the big community we are and that we do indeed have a voice and deserve more

Even tho the gacha is optional, although you can get one 5 stars per patch, there's nothing to lose to give players a big reward once/twice a year.

Devsis is having an anniversary too and the rewards are overwhelming 😭😭 and yes I know they are both different games but considering they are both gacha based I personally think that im being valued as a veteran player. They have given me rewards like legendaries and epic cookies as a F2p which is also possible for genshin but it takes a long time. I just hope genshin consider the issue as a major signal to change for the better.

Maybe they just made this 3 wish drama just so they could hide the fact that they gave 20 wishes last year. 10 from mail straight up and 10 through log-in. Maybe they just don't want to give wishes that would exceed the amount compared to last year.

Seeing as how I have spent probably 200+$ at this point in Genshin (momey I have NEVER SPENT in amy other game) after playing for a year and half. i agree, the rewards are underwhelming if they are receiving this amount of money from people. Like, even with the amount I've spent, I barely have five stars. Giving a free five star isn't going to hurt the game that much since again, people still pull for weapons and constellations, lol.

I haven't play Genshin in months and also only know about this drama through Wuthering Waves😂 everyone was saying they'll leave Genshin for those game because the developer actually listen. I guess I'm not missing anything when I stop playing.

They could be more generous, especially anticipating wuthering waves and mugen (both looks very promising btw), the games that could really have solid chances to be competitors. They could do a lot when newer gacha games is gaining attention and take the momentum to gain even more players and this is what they do

The team working on Genshin is very penny-pincher, they don't give us anything, while the Honkai team is very generous! They give a lot of things and create various quality of life systems for players, as a Genshin player I feel "left out" and this is very bad for the company...

they really used the wrong choice of words during the livestream lol. If they had just said that players will get total of 10 fates by 7 days of login PLUS 3 extra pulls by in-game mail, there would've been less riot. But instead, they just had to specifically say "to thank the community for years of support", 3 fates will be sent by in-game mail which is just haha...

I'm no longer playing Genshin these days, but when i heard about the extra 3 intertwined fate... bruh, that S# got me wheezing LMAO but hey, this kinda show how they only listen to CN playerbase... (Zhongli buff, remember?!).

I have reason to believe that, at this point, the higher-ups of Genshin's dev team figured they had the playerbase by the balls and thus they tried to see how much they could tighten their grip before, erm... _something_ burst. Be honest: how often have people brought up a bizarre decision in Genshin's design only to be met with "Hey, well, you know, it be like that sometimes" from their peers? If I had a fanbase that seemed ready and willing to fellate me and my company at the first command (and I also didn't have this pesky little thing called "a conscience"), I'd try something similar, i.e. "You'll take what we give you _and you will like it!_ What are you going to do: _play another game?!"_

The ball is in their court. They have always been cheap and stingy when it comes to this particular game, when it's their literal cash cow, while they treat Honkai games as their favorite vanity passion projects to dump all revenue on and pamper the playerbase.

Thank you for making this video. Its important that everyone who can bring this subject come to a head will help in the long run. I also missed like most people the 3 fates, or at least i kust thought i misheard and only saw the regular 10 fates.

We've given them literally BILLIONS of dollars and they gave us 3 wishes as a thank you. It cost them literally nothing to give us a free 5* AND 100 free pulls, its not like fates are a limited resource, they push a button and its there. It is unbelievably greedy to give us basically nothing after the unbelievably massive amount of support they have gotten.

It just feels silly that they’d make this mistake again. Like, did they really forget so quickly about the 1st anniversary fiasco? And for HSR, a game run by THE SAME COMPANY to have way better rewards for a similar type of celebration… like, what gives? Honestly, if they had not mentioned the “all 3 intertwined fates” I don’t think the community would be this mad. Genuinely. Bc their current rewards seem pretty on par with what we’ve had in the past for lantern rite (one free Liyue 4 star, 10 fates, some gems, and some materials). It sucks, sure, but the 3 fates is literally just adding insult to injury. Like, “oh, you are so used to receiving trash rewards, let’s give you a little more trash to enjoy”. I’ve played games where anniversary rewards included special tickets to pull on a “rare units only” banner (where you are guaranteed only top rarity characters/cards), where you were given at least the anniversary x10 pulls (so 50 for 5 years, or even 55 for 5 years). It just feels like they expect the players to be grateful for the bare minimum and that’s why people are so mad.

The best reward is the one we give ourselves, by dropping Genshin and going to Wuthering Waves.

This is a good time to also voice our demand for other community requested QoL and Replayable Past Events.. It's already 3 years I bet new players want all that old event stuff "but the storage will be massive" they can make it by just doing partial download per event so you'll never have to worry about storage, if you done with said event we'd be able to delete that content and download other one, simple.. Additional feature for that is you can view old CGs and some event-only cutscenes plus dialogues in-case you miss some lore stuff. I'm sure people would love these stuff especially the lore nerds, even I want to as well as a day one player because i want to re-experience the Albedo events Keep voicing your concerns, people. Don't let the bootlickers shut us down, they just loud minority. If we truly love Genshin, we would call out these kind of bullshit. It's called tough love.
