Some experts insist that the matured age of a male gorilla in a gorilla society is over 13 years old when he becomes an adult. 専門家によってはオスゴリラが成熟し大人になるのは、13歳以上からだと主張してます。
Iam afraid there is going to be a problem with that . In the wild they choose to leave the troop around the age of Gentaro or in some cases younger . But in a small HABITAT that consists of (4) it could cause a problem !! Gentaro should be ready for a mate and his own habitat within a year two years would be taking a chance on Momotaro abusing him . Please don't let Gentaro ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT continue beyond that 🙄. He is wayyy to intelegent and loveable . Maybe a bachelor group for a year then when he is 13 years a mate and his own habitat . He needs to be around other female or Gorrilas besides Ginki and Kintaro all the time . He deserves so much more . Momotaro and Ginki has Kintaro for a good while to come . ✨♥️✨
@@joycecodrington4829 he’s a lovely gorilla but he is very immature unlike Kiyomasa who is rebelling an displaying. Gentaro is really not. Think the Zoo staf are professionals an know what their doing. Gentaro is well cared for an if they felt he was endangered they’d take action
Gentaro is not yet a silverback, so I think it's good that he gets to spend more time with his family, especially little brother Kintaro. Wild gorilla troops have more than one silverback, so this shouldn't be a problem. However, I would like Gentaro to be able to start and lead his own family one day. Selfishly, I'm happy about this decision, because it means he will still be at the Kyoto Zoo when I visit next year.
There is a huge difference between Gentaro and his father at the same age. Momotaro was 10 when he came to this zoo to breed with Genki and he was a silverback. Gentaro is very immature ( still sucks his finger ) and his development isn't advanced as it should be. As much as I hate the way he treats his mother sometimes, I think she will stress and she has had enough suffering at the hand of humans and their decisions.
I chuckled at the description of "when" Gentaro may leave. Gentaro isn't REALLY interested in leaving; he's that child who enjoys living in his parents basement🤣🤣
I for one am happy about that! He still loves his time with Kinny and Mom when she lets him !! As long as he's not challenging Momo he should be fine! He has alot of respect still for his dad and is very submissive to him! Thanks for the update!!!
Well, I hope its for that reason and not because he has no place to go...hopefully, he and Momotaro wil remain peaceful to each other, because if they dont have a place to seperate them should they begin to fight, it will already be too late. Our 7 year old barely blackback, has already gone to a bachelor troop.
On one hand I am happy that they will be together and on the other hand I can’t wait for Gentaro to become a father. Can you imagine how cute his babies will be ? ❤
He is going to be an amazing mate and father. I am anxious to see this part of his life too. Gentaro is an exceptional gorilla! Watching him made me love gorillas and start my addiction of watching gorillas on RU-vid.
I’m not happy about this news. When Gentaro is sexually mature he should be placed with a mate. The whole purpose of having these animals at the zoo is to preserve them. Gorillas are endangered and every attempt should be made to find suitable mates for all of them, even if it means trading with other countries.
Gentaro is very handsome gorilla, big, gentle, cute and strong too,is cute face but sometimes his like a baby he need mama Genky but Genky she’s not interested by him is sad for gentaro, but mama Genky she’s a good mother too!!❤❤❤❤❤!!
Very unfortunate if that’s the case, he deserves to get out of there. This whole dynamic is bizarre and the poor conditions at that zoo make it worse. Considering how Momotaro can barely mate properly, although more recently I suspect he’s done with Genki and would be more interested with additional females, I wouldn’t expect him to know when he should see Gentaro as a challenger.
Everyone blames Momo for the mating problems but I've noticed that when other gorillas mate the female lies down completely on her stomach and stays there. In all the recent attempts at mating between Momo and Genki I've noticed that she keeps remaining in a standing position and then she very quickly walks away. For whatever reason she doesn't seem like she's quite ready.
Sono sicura che Gentaro sarà un ottimo papà, lo si vede da come è gentile con Kintaro. Il viso di Gentaro quando si è avvicinato a Genki ( forse ha chiederle il cibo) era bellissimo e dolcissimo! ❤️🍀❤️
I'm glad the zoo is carefully considering the needs of all the gorillas in this group. It's so good for Kintaro's development to have his older brother around to play with and learn from, and he'd be heartbroken if Gentaro were taken away now. Momotaro and Genki would also be deeply upset; zoo gorillas just like chimpanzees don't take the sudden loss of a troop member well because they don't understand what's happened and of course their keepers can't explain it to them. They're a happy functioning family with little conflict so it's always best all around to leave the group as is rather than separate them, at least for several more years.
Oh yes, YAHOOOOOOOOO,!!! Gentaro get’s to stay longer to myself that’s perfect he still tries to get Genki affection when he can and he plays so well with Kintaro … I know the day will come for him to make his very own sweet, beautiful and handsome babies but for now he stays with mom & dad still learning from them ❤❤❤❤❤
He's got lots of time; many captive male gorillas are kept in all-male groups for their teenage years and aren't matched with a mate or mates until they're 20 or older, as females usually prefer older and calmer males rather than hyperactive goofy teenagers who are always chasing and teasing them, not surprisingly. They may be physically and sexually mature at 13 but like humans are far from mentally mature at that age.
I’m so glad Our Beautiful Sweet Boy Gentaro will stay with his Family 😊❤❤❤ He is such a Joy to watch with his funny ways and his love for his baby brother and his Sweet Precious momma. He also Loves his Wonderful father too. This will make him a Happy Loving Silverback to his own family when he’s paired with a mate. If He and Annie are not related , she could be a wonderful mate for him. Because of his gentle nature and being raised in a really good environment with his loving family , And poor sweet Annie being rejected by her family except for her loving father seems she is so sensitive and Gentaro is sweet and carrying. So maybe if is a possibility . What a good matchup it could be❤️🦍🦍🦍🦍
I recently saw a RU-vid video that indicated a Silverback can eat up to 75 pounds of food in a day and a female 40 pounds! So leave my Genki be she’s doing what she needs. Love this family!
@@wintergem74 Genki eats a hundred pounds or better daily she never stops eating unless she sleeping I’m glad you like her 2 claps 👏🏾👏🏾 for you I like her too 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 but the girl is greedy
@@LadyChelleish It's interesting to watch a person cling to being rude & mean, and dismiss people's call for making more kind words. Mean-spirited commentary about Genki's weight and eating habits is not okay even when it's wrapped up in a joke or sarcasm. If you don't have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself. Also, the tone of your comment and replies remind me of the words from another commenter...so maybe someone's projecting their misogynistic body-image biases, greed and eating issues onto a gorilla? Who knows.
My opinion: I don't think Gentaro will ever "challenge" Momotaro. One, he's very intimidated by his father and, two, he respects and loves him. He doesn't have a driving reason to take such a risk. That would perhaps change if there were a female he wasn't biologically related to in their troop. (Similar to Shabani's family.) The presence of another female gorilla could create into an environment that could put Gentaro's hormonal/physical Silverback transition into overdrive. I'm also not sure Momotaro will even know what to do with Gentaro when he recognizes him as an adult. I'm happy Kintaro gets to have his playmate for a while longer. If Gentaro stays around until Kintaro is 7 or 8 years old, they would have the option of moving to a Blackback enclosure together! Gorilla family dynamics are complex. Similar to humans, each gorilla is different. So, it's cool to see the Kyoto zoo take nuanced and well-thought-out steps to act in each gorilla's best interest. ❤
That will be a sad 😢 day when Gentaro does leave his family🦍🦍🦍🦍!!! I don’t want to even think about it right now… just enjoying his time with his family!!! 🦍💙💕💜💋
I presume as soon as Gentaro starts to show aggressive behaviour to his father, that’s when he will be moved. I personally would like to know where he goes and his cage.
I'm gonna cry the day Gentarp leaves his family, he's an awesome brother to Kentaro, and although he picks on Genki alot, I've seen Gentaro protect Genki from Momotaro when needed.
Lol why a lot people insist gentaro should move and produce a baby,he's not ready. He need to learn more, also he's not causing any trouble with momotaro, which mean Momo accept gentaro as an adult troops member. Also Lil kinny still need a friend to play.
Because the whole point of keeping gorillas in cages is to preserve the species. They need to reproduce or they will become extinct. Keeping them away from mates because they are fun to watch is irresponsible. So far Momo and Genki have only produced enough offspring to replace themselves. They have not added to the numbers of gorillas. It’s imperative for these animals to be provided with enough space and mates to produce plenty of offspring.
I'm happy and relieved to learn that the zoo doesn't want to act hastily and suppose they'll be flexible about any future decision if things change. Every gorilla family has different family dynamics, there are no uniform rules to apply about moving or leaving them in their place. I'm sure their loving zookeepers know them better than any of us and especially know what is best for them. GL, thank you for informing us gorilla watchers and for your dedication! One question - do zookeepers use your or other daily video distributers' footages to observe Momo's family?
Right in your short introduction to Gentaro, why don't you also refer to his ability to learn numbers from computers? Doesn't that show his intelligence? His eyes and the side looks that he gives his father are also very clear-eyed and sharp.
