@@jackmcinerney1030 Is that in the back story then? I haven't seen the whole program, just this. And I would argue it's a huge advantage, in fact it's apples and oranges.
Well you are not so clever then. It means he's hates losing even to a kid and so he played without backing down. It's not something that happened but his thoughts .
Rahul is remembering things entirely from memory, Jimmy is being given the prompt by Rahul, so instead of remembering "Any" possible song, he only has to remember which song by the artist that Rahul gives him, is correct
Bravado because he wasn’t credited for it through the points both teams getting 3 is like not getting any points at all, so he didn’t get 5 points while the celebrities were losing by 4.
I've always wondered that. Genius to me is invention or improving something. The internal combustion engine etc, or working out how the universe works to a certain degree, and obviously realising how religious people held back progress for centuries while fighting about who's sky fairy is the best 😂
Yeah, I feel bad for that kid, not because he lost or the conditions were unfair but the whoe fact that he's on that show on the first place and dealing with the utterly idiotic moniker of "child genius".
@@gurjodhdhillon1133 You sound indian so it was instilled in you to get all A's in school so you have no room to talk. It's true, people who take school seriously don't have any creativity. That's why Bill gates and Mark Zuckerberg are college dropouts, and other multi millionaires didn't go to college. Elon Musk has said and still believes education is useless. Success is quantified by money not academic achievement, enjoy living in the machine making a middle class wage the rest of your mundane life.
Changing the point system in the middle of the game is favoritism and cheating. Yeah, that was impressive from the kid, but don't you want to win the fair way? I'd be genuinely annoyed also!
That wasn't fair to begin with. Jimmy only had to name the song which is much easier, if you already know the artists and their biggest songs beforehand
Memorizing stuff is not "academia". However... this match is insanely unfair to Rahul. He basically gives Jimmy half of the answer each time by going first.
Jimmy handled it far better than I would have. I would have smashed the podium and every other bit of shit in that place. Richard Osman would be 4'11" after that.
This is literally just sad, instead of letting the kid win just like every normal successful, confident person would, you would destroy everything ? How old are you ? Aren’t you ashamed ?
Honestly, how can you compete with Jimmy gag for gag when he’s got a photographic memory. Still very impressive, this makes academia quite easy for people like this.
@@redjohn3662 yeah your right I couldn't memorize songs of the year and the artist behind them but I can memorize countries and their capitals and other lists/facts. As do a lot of people
The whole way exams in school is about just remembering the specific things the teacher tells you, not exactly a true sign of intelligence but our education system is based entirely off it.
That's a fair call for the kid. I live in Australia and have no actual knowledge of the charts over there, but I'm also 50 and I could name the songs once the kid named the artists. Granted there were 68, but then if I'm given a list to memorise I could probably do well also.
@Gareth Feel free to delete your stupid reply. I will not explain why; if you figure it out you will learn much more from this experience than me pointing the obvious out to you.
@Gareth "...every UK number 1 single". No they're not. There are Australian songs that never get big overseas that are number 1 here, same with every other country on the fucking planet moron.
Naming the artists in order is far harder than naming the song that those artists produced. Plus, Jimmy would have been old enough to know most of the songs. Poor kid couldn't even pronounce Mick Jagger.
Jimmy didn't have to remember the order of the list because rahul did it all, totally unfair, its much easier to guess the popular song name when you have the artist given to you.
Ill be honest impressive by both and as Jimmy said his bit was easier, but the rules were clarified at the start. To go back and change them is unsportsmanlike and a product of this everyone gets a trophy society we live in. Its not a bad thing that he got beat and I imagine jimmy would also be the first to say that everything Rahul does is impressive. What do you think giving him a 5050 split accomplished? If he got beat he comes back better next time. Winning when you lose gives you no incentive to get better. It is a valuable lesson at that age. I would be annoyed as well, not because I didn't get the points but because its just another participation trophy that could potentially slow progress
Sure, this kid has a ridiculous memory and is clearly gonna be successful in life, but I mean in order to be that smart, he has had absolutely no social development. He’s unbelievably socially awkward throughout, even in the room with just him and jimmy. Kind of unfair for the parents to only prepare him to be academically successful, I sincerely doubt he’s gonna be happy in later life if he’s unable to hold a decent conversation. Credit where credit is due, kids got a great mind.
i think you're mistaking him using a memory tactic that engages his visual and spatial memory for lacking eye contact, however, he could be naturally mildly socially awkward but that won't mean he won't be happy in life. it also doesn't guarantee he'll be successful either, a lot of really smart people end up working average jobs
@Fortnite Rambo proves intelligence? according to what? IQ tests that are evidence of white superiority? If you actually think IQ tests = intelligence than you are a white supremacist. Dumbass fortnite kid, next you're gonna tell me we should cleanse America.
The title of this video is misleading. Yes the game was unfair in favor of jimmy, but it should've been designed better to begin with. In this case it was basically impossible for Jimmy to "win" as shown by the fact that he literally did win and not only did he not get the points but you're literally describing him as losing in the title of this video
I don't like Jimmy Carr, but I'm actually with him on this one. He had to memorize the titles of 66 bloody songs, whereas the child genius "only" had to recall the names of the artists. That's not a fair match. Jimmy Carr should definitely have won, and there's no telling as to whether or not he could remember even more song titles. Not just that, but the kid even kept saying the names of the artists, which also should have been against the rules (as it could make one confused); Much like when someone is counting, and someone else then starts saying random numbers. There's no denying that the kid is a genius, but he shouldn't have won, - rather, he should have been disqualified.
@Wubba Wubba The kid did amazing but lost that game because the rules were agreed to before the game started. Changing rules after a game has ended because the "wrong" person won is cheating. I agree, the child genius had the much harder job but the whole point was to show off the kids superior brain power (which they did). Even a regular kid would be expected to beat an adult in a memory game on equal terms because kids typically outperform adults in these games so they had to making it challenging.
@@itsnotworthit7178 if it was really fair they'd have taken turns in naming the artists. Jimmy's task was much easier considering he lived through the eighties, would be much more familiar with the songs belonging to the artists being named and then only need to remember the number one single of the artist in question, instead of having to solely remember what was next in the sequence, which the boy had to do. I'm pretty sure this is why they awarded them both points and it's all meant as a bit of fun as well.
8 point spread lol. That's 3 more points that he shouldn't have gotten, and 2 that you lost. That's a 5 point spread Jimmy. With those reasoning skills, Carr's just lucky he got the easy questions.

not at all fair to jimmy they all knew he is a kid and he agreed to it knowing the opponent is jimmy yet they screwed him over not fair dude i´d be pretty annoyed too jimmy i am with you and btw he DIDN`T LOSE TO THE KID
@@noorkhadim844 @ oh ok, I am glad to know that he is happy I just wondering, do you have his sister link video? I love watching videos about genius people
Okay, aside from the clickbait title, I'm 100% on Jimmy's side here. He won fair and square and he should have been given the points he earned. They wouldn't have split the points if he was going against an adult; the kid is a genius, everyone involved agreed to the rules and Jimmy won. I'd be pretty pissed off too if the rules were changed after the fact.
