My favorite line “oh, he’s just threatening to eat her. That’s ok. I thought he was gonna do something else” 😂 I feel like I’ve had that same sentiment in other anime’s, like “oh, he’s just threatening the FL with violence, that’s relief” Why are anime’s like this?!? 😂
My theory is that it was "probably" since romanticism of "you still have heart you scary teddy bear (bakaaaaa)" & I'd argue it's been done (at least in modern time) during the booming of novels before it'll cultimate to "hollywood please make alpha male do something to this poor damsel!" & now we have those remaining old tropes intermixing with other tropes (like how powerpuff girl was made but the prof. instead unknownly mixing all ingredients with every set of chemical X)......So, I dunno.
@@airplanes_aren.t_realTrue. It’s too bad that they never made a second season. But we can all enjoy the manga. And we can rest assured that if they were to make a second season, they would ABSOLUTELY do the manga justice….
i enjoyed reading the manga (and was way too invested in the lizardxlizard slow-burn) and i'm pumped to see how pretty it looks. def gotta appreciate how blatantly pro-furry this story is lmao
Ya this series is not what I would call subtle about pretty much anything. But there is a reason we love to keep re telling fairy tale with their timeless quality. I would make a reference to a song from a movie but Disney probably has a sniper on me even now.
THANK YOU MORE SHOUJO. shoujo deserves more even if they're not, like, Amazing-Groundbreaking-Never-Been-Seen-Before stories. Shoujo shouldn't have to jump through standards so high just to get even the lowest of the lowest baseline of respect shounen gets
I'm glad shoujo fans are finally getting some variety in their anime. I doubt they'll ever get as many anime has shounen (but given as much crap as they put out, that's not exactly a negative)
@M 560 I didn't say you didn't deserve more. I was just saying that it'll probably never reach Shonen numbers and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Quality over quantity
Hey, Shonen anime can be shoujo too if you squint hard enough. At least a solid 3% of the Shonen Jump lineup is trashy romance, though admitedly, it's very male-gaze oriented for obvious reasons
Ainz keeps reincarnating into beasties, first Fel and now this guy. That VA always is a plus but not quite enough to get me to watch this. Thanks for the helpful reaction!
“I can see why they’d have to eat humans.” Or, like, the human’s livestock? Maybe there’s something else, but it looks like you’re treating “We can’t grow our own food so eating humans is the only reasonable alternative” as a logical escalation.
Nice to see Sacrificial Princess getting some attention and admiration. I mean Crunchyroll is paying for it but I’m choosing to ignore that because I love this series.
I just saw the first episode. This is definitely hardcore shoujo (is that a word combination that even fits together?) with the young girl 'taming' the dangerous older guy love interest and all. I enjoyed it, though! Here's hoping their actual ages aren't too far apart. They did look a lot closer in size when he was in human form, so maybe she's not as young as she seemed at first.
I’m at the point where I’ve just stopped caring about ages in anime. They rarely matter and can actually detract from the enjoyment if you care too much. Why should I care if one drawing is slightly too old for another. They were drawn at the same time lol
I find the style of this anime fascinating. It's not the greatest art or design and it feels quite retro because of it. The backgrounds especially feel very painted rather than smooth/overly rendered
The little ball demons are one of my favorite since together they are cyclops like the one eye monster but since they are two of them one have the eye and the other is just a mouth. He not wrong about the blonde boy lol. Wish we get more on what the blonde body doing in the manga.
You calling Ilya Gaston was so funny to me. XD He's a little punkass that grows on ya, bit by bit. It looks great, but I'm waiting on JC Staff to fuck it up. I can't trust them after what they did to Requiem Of The Rose King.
You may think this anime may tone down a bit after his first very convoluted episode but it's just keep being as good each episode developing the characters as the same time as exploring the problems of this society while establishing an obvious comparison (and contrast at the very same time) with our own, exploring thorny issues on a relatively safe way. Its an episodic formula where each episode and mini arc contributes to the whole story with a finale it really wraps up all together on a beautiful conclusion.
To the ones that are excited to wait for this anime to be released and have watched it now. So, how do you like em speeds? Would you like to have it faster? Lol
Isn't this just a better anime version of Beauty and the Beast? Oh well, either way I'm watching it. "I thought about this bfr he said anything btw, you don't have to believe me tho"
This might sound like an odd comparison but this reminds me of the sleepy princess at the demon kings castle anime. Similar vibe with the girl who will eventually befriend all the demons lol
Strange as it sounds I like the unscripted intro\outro for these. Def gonna check this out this week, need to scratch my fantasy itch real bad right now
Honestly, I watched the first episode of this anime and it was actually ok, but that's it, it was just ok, and I don't think I would keep watching it because I am sure there is a lot of other animes in this season, that deserve watching more than it.
It was ok, so I will give it a few more episodes. It's pretty unique between all the isekai this season. But you are right there is some really great anime to watch this season.
