Geoff Tate had and still has one of the very best, if not the best voice in metal, rock whatever you like to call it. Queensryche was one of the most underrated bands of the 80's-early 90's. They were awesome!! Absolutely AWESOME!!!!

No ONE could ever replace this voice.

I used to sing this song to my sons at bedtime. They are 16 and 18 now. They love song.

At the time of this recording, he is 59 years old. To have that voice still at his age is impressive. Truly one of the greats of metal, hell of music in general.

Beautiful song, it was one of my sons favorites back in the nineties, brought me to tears because he was murdered last year! Geoff Tate has such an amazing voice, and as a musician myself, anyone who can sound great acoustically without digital enhancement, is the mark of a true professional!

It doesn't matter how different style he did this song but this song is his song no one can ever stole it from him

Fucking incredible. Tate is still amazing and these 3 acoustic videos have literally made my year. Sure Tate had his problems in the band but damnit man....the guy has fucking beautiful singing chops. He'll always be the voice of Queensryche.

The one dislikes this video is from the new singer of Queensryche. You know, basically the same as the Guy who now sings for Journey. A bandaid to a forever wound that will never heal.

Love it! Prior to this I was watching a vocal coach's reaction to the official video!

Another thing I love about it is this fact. These are the brilliant bands I grew up on and here they are after all these decades still sounding amazing and doing what they do with all of their experience and experiences out shining and out performing the new bands of today. That's a fact, so for all if you haters out there think about that.

There's a place I like to hide... And that place is this song!

Tate's voice has gotten deeper, which is natural... but I think his range has stood the test of time. He may have trouble hitting the old E5 in 'Take Hold of the Flame', but it sounds like he could now hit notes lower than he used to to compensate. The tone is just as rich as it used to be. Hear a lot of people saying he's not what he used to be, but that's not really fair. Most singers don't sound this good into their 60's.
