GEOMETRY DASH YOUTUBE SHORTS STILL SUCK?!? 

i once saw wulzy on twitter saying that some shorts creator passed him in subscribers And tride replied with: ''subscribers from shorts aren't real dont worry'' I live for these words.

now i feel kind of happy that my level, ispy became this popular even on shortform content. it actually shows something else than wave spam and make people see that the game actually has some cool stuff :3

This video was AWESOME and it completely shows how well your content has improved from the first video of this series. There's so much to say about this video but I'll keep it short lol. Lately, i have been experiencing large content burnout because the field I am in is completely saturated by creators that can make 6 shorts in the time I make 1... and it doesn't feel worth it at times because the amount of time I am putting in is resulting in my videos being tossed at the bottom of the feed (regarding GD shorts) That feeling sucks, and to be mentioned in this video as a "good shorts creator" helps in ways you can't even imagine. Thanks man. It is reconfirming something i said to myself a while back - that I'd rather be an outcast that is proud of his work instead of being a robot that pumps out work that knowingly sucks which goes viral. Crappy GD shorts is just another form of internet clout chasing that sells actual good creators short in their community. I could go on for hours lol but either way amazing vid Troy. Keep going

The point you made about non GD players’ only interaction with the game is scarily true. I have a few friends that don’t play GD and whenever GD comes up in conversation, somehow one of them mentions KaiGuy or one of the other Shorts creators. And they think he’s super good and/or one of the best players in the game. They don’t even play GD, they just see this terrible content in their feed. I feel kinda bad, how they only see this side of GD content.

I don't typically donate, but I definitely feel this video was great, and you definitely deserve the support when comparing your content to the Shorts shown in this video. I really hope that one day we will actually get good Shorts (in general), because the Shorts algorithm is very unfair. If you keep uploading the same thing over and over again, eventually you'll have tons of fame, and RU-vid verifying such low-effort creators clearly shows they support mass-produced shit.

Shorts have had the potential to revive the "skit" era we had in early 2.1 with OG Juniper, Huseey, Etzer, etc., but all we get are creators who don't even attempt to be creative with their jokes and writing. Didn't expect that I still get mentioned after quitting GD about half a year tho. I'm not sure how GD shorts r going today but through your video, I can see it now. It's true that my recent long video is trash, I just got inspired through many other channels which using the same method (its just for fun tho) and the reason why I removed most my shorts( I basically starting to remove most of them) for certain reasons, I guess u r already known why. Haha... I'm still thinking and will make change on my channel soon on my next upload. Of course that it wont be good like the others but it will be just a normal videos like normal lvl, layout showcase or just a normal tutorial videos and a random one like my 2 most popular long form. Bro THANK YOU SO MUCH for make this video, my friend Gerson Gaming, who has made the biggest Geometry Dash iceberg (4h duration) we always talk about this topic, I've noticed that not many people have talked about this on RU-vid. btw the part where you say that gd shorts are the antonym of effort is honestly very funny XD and we thank you for making this video.

Yes, I agree, Geometry Dash shorts are bad, and its sad to see a lot of people doing the same content as other creators. I wanted something different in the comunity, not another gd shorts youtuber doing the same as everyone, and here I am. It might be weird content, but I enjoy making this content. What most people think, is that RU-vid shorts is a low effort way to create content, but this isn't the case for me. The average time I spend on a short is between 4h and 10h, even more in some videos, for example the skibidi toilet and grimace shake one, where I spent around 15h. (Of course, I spent around 1h or 2 on some shorts, but it barely happens) I have made some large form videos about Brawl Stars before starting with gd shorts, and definitely, for me, it takes more time to make a "good" short than a large form video. I really enjoy making this kind of content, I know it may be cringe, but I love it, for this reason is why I put a lot of effort and time on them :) PD: I really wanted to see someone criticising YT shorts to see what people think abt them and the creators, also to see what people thinks abt me, so I am happy to see this video. I speak spanish, I am sorry for my english guys, I hope you can understand everything as I tried to mean :)

I completely agree, all shorts are just low quality and easy to make repetitive things that are always focused on the current popular trend or meme, just so they will be viewed when people search up for those trends or memes. as a stream moderator and discord administrator for beanable, I know a lot about him and his community, and as you'd expect, it's mainly 9 year olds who only care about skibidi toilet or whatever. but tbh otherwise it isn't that bad, I still find a few sane people that are fun to talk to. about his long form videos, they at least have effort put into them and aren't filled with typical yt short clickbait things so it's not half bad to watch (still a long to way go if he wants to match evw and juniper though). his streams are also pretty good, that's the main reason I'm involved in his community. me and the other discord administrator have been asking him for a few months now to make longer content more often like he said he would in that comment he made, but he hasn't made much progress yet unfortunately. I hope sometime he will fully transition into long full length videos and stop steering non gd players away from the game, and hopefully they get good views too eventually with his 175k subs, although like you said, that doesn't guarantee popularity. for now though, while he continues to make shorts, at least they're getting a bit better and more original, like his new controversial questions series, which isn't full of gen z clickbait. don't get me wrong, it's still not what yt shorts should be, and far from it, but it's definitely a step up. also this is a very well made video and I can see you going places, so good luck with your channel!

You are probably one of the best GD content creators to come out of 2023 in my opinion. I feel like you have given the community what it needed, more creativity in new types of conent. Even though all the documentaries and crazy level creations are pretty good. I feel like it's always been very repetitive. With some big youtubers reusing old documenaries/storys that have been told thousands of times in just a different format. Your editing style, commentary, and critique is very refreshing to see. I hope you one day become one of the bigger Geometry Dash content creators in the near future.

Not only do the GD shorts suck, but the short video format is terrible as well. It lacks depth, lowers attentions spans and keep us hooked for way too long on social media. The fact that there are so many people willing to make and watch this type of content is really sad to me. Obviously its easier to gain subscribers on short form content since people watch more different videos from a lot of youtubers. Anyway, i found this to be a great video, thanks for sharing ;)

This is maybe the only time i don’t capitalize or change the font in my text, so you know this comment will mean something. As a Geometry Dash RU-vid Short Creator, i can def agree with 90% of what was said, the only thing i cant agree on is "the effortless amount of time spent" with all due respect, some creators do take their time making bad RU-vid shorts (CiroXP), whilst some just puts the clips into their editor and calls it a day. I started this RU-vid shorts thing because of a tiny gd shitpost, which caught me 20k views (which is deleted now) and because of that i continued to create more and more of these videos, do i plan on stopping? Yes, yes i am. But RU-vid Shorts are like a cigarette, once you want to stop, its impossible. Im currently sticking to long form content, as well as editing for people. But i agree with everything said in this video, huge props to you for making this. Also, nobody comment "i aint reading allat" im just speaking my opinion.

I don’t get the appeal to be a GD shorts creator. You’ll never develop a true fanbase. You can have as many subscribers as you want but you’ll never have a community. Real fanbases are formed from high quality, relatable content. Taking the easy route and pumping out mindless shorts with no thought put into them will never find you real success. Those who do shorts to “grow an audience” to watch their long form uploads are gravely mistaken. That’s not how it works. If you really want to find success, you have to put in the work and make high quality content. You’ll naturally get recognized and grow if you do that. Uploading slop to the shorts tab will cause you more harm than good. When shorts creators turn to long form content, I see it all too often that when they don’t immediately get similar views to their shorts, they immediately turn around and go back to effortless content that’ll never find them real success. My advice to shorts creators wanting to get into long form content is simple: put in the work. Make long form videos instead of going straight back to shorts when you don’t instantly find success. You won’t go viral on your first attempt. It doesn’t matter how big your sub count is if you don’t have a community.

That's true on a whole new level, I think YT Shorts is like life itself, if you just give the lowest amount of effort expecting everything just to be successfull, it'll just be a pile of nothing but failure and disappointment. It's all about being passionate and motivated to do something that shows how much care they put in all the details and how they show that they are definitely unique. It's the kind of philosophy I came up since I finished watching this video, and it really seems that you keep growing, in search for constant change for the better. It's a great video, I did find this in recommended and I do agree with that point, GD YT Shorts are way too oversaturated with people that only upload those kind of stuff just to gain popularity that can just drop anytime. What's crazy to me is the idea that these creators somehow think will work, being that you can first grow/cheat a massive audience and then make videos; first of all you won't know how to make good videos at that point, and secondly, your audience won't necessarily enjoy that different form of content.

Amazing video, hope this continues to blow up so more people will understand how awful the gd shorts space is and why we need to prioritise quality over quantity in regards to making short form content.

RU-vid actually has a policy against repetitive content. This policy has a pretty terrible reputation in the GD community, causing #FreeNpesta and similar cases. However, it seems that only the bots decide if a channel gets taken down for something like this rather than humans, so it results in actual repetitive sludge like Kaiguy’s videos not getting deleted due to not being exact replicas, but with Npesta having gotten an instant take down despite being the opposite of people like Kaiguy.

idk i think that’s just how yt shorts will always be. the few times ive scrolled through shorts it’s always the same thing. i think people see how big some of these can get and just want to feel like they made something that a lot of people see. problem is no one really takes the time to actually check out their other content, so they just fall back into obscurity. i heard a youtuber (can’t remember which one pls tell me if you do) say that views from shorts are just from randoms, and you can’t really make a personality from minute long videos, so no one is ever going to come back funnily enough i used to play geometry dash years back and the stupid shorts is what got me back into the game. it wasn’t even a omg i remember this game it was more like a wtf has happened in the few years i was gone. i think it’s great that vids like these are being made cause back in the day all you had was videos of people beating levels or exposing videos so it’s great to see people branching out i kinda rambled about nothing for long enough. i think i just needed to vent cause all my friends that used to play don’t remember a thing about this game lol

Fun fact: KaiGuys has over 1.1 billion total channel views. Guitar (yes the predator), GDs biggest youtube channel, has 1.4. The spanish guy we dont talk about has been around for like a decade. And was undoubtedly the biggest gd channel for... for ever. And now he has been surpassed by motherfkn kaiguy.

I still remember watching Lemoncak3 channel back then. Back when he actually makes long form content. But like 1 year ago, he started making shorts and I hated it so much, like you're throwing away all your good reputation just for more subs and views. And now people look at him as a yt shorts content maker as oppose to the okeyish channel back then.
