@21:05 For people following this tutorial with 3.1 version of Blender. The Curve Parameter Node is now Spline Parameter Node! BlenderDude keep it up!!! Liked and subscribed myself.
24:10 you can use vector math node after noise texture, set it to substract and substract by 0.5 from all axies, it normally works for me, IDK how the math works but if it works, it's fine.
🤦♂ Yes, of course, thank you!!! I knew I missed something! This solved the offsetting. But the Tentacles are still scaled up. I need the "transform Node" after the "position Node" with all three scales set to about 0.5. Then everything is fixed. Thank you!
@@blenderdude5050 Try the Noise without the Vector Rotate , also after the Vector Math with the Subtract of 0.5 add another Vector Math set to Multiply and multiply the Factor of the Spline Parameter, the base of the tentacles will now not move with the Noise.
Thanks, very nice explained. with the floating particle and the tentacles you can create a wonderful scene. You know the coral spawning on the great barrier reef in aussie once a year on full moon.!?
this is amazing thanks a lot!! i'm duplicating lots of them in one scene so wondering what's the best way to make the tentacles move in different random see(since all the duplicated virus are sharing the same node now)?
Great tutorial! I have a question, I add a #frame to make the noise move over time, but then my points keep 'flickering' or disappearing randomly. Do you know why and how I can stop it from doing that? Thanks!
Hi, puh - without seeing your GN Setup it's hard to find the error... I've never had that flickering your are describing... sorry! Normally some in- and outputs are wrong connected or some math node ist set to "add" instead of "multiply"...
==> Hi again, BD ~ Just finished creating this scene, complete with floating red blood cells. Thanks again for your extremely helpful guidance! Question: Is there any way to add a material [color] to the fibers protruding from the virus? [I'm a Blender newbie, so please pardon my cluelessness.] . . . .
Hi, at 28:51, there is a material node for the tentacles. Press shif-A, search for "Set material" and place that node at the very end of the tentacle nodes, just before the "join geometry" node.
==> Beautiful illustration! Thanks very much for this very illuminating video. Question: The final version of the virus seems to be missing the antigens [i.e., the small red bubbles on its surface]? . . . .
Hi, thx! Yes, you are right! I created them at around 6:30 and I plugged them off the "join geometry node" at 12:44. Just connect the material node of the antigens/bubbles again with one of the "join geometry nodes"!
And I also realized, that I have a too low resolution of the virus surface at the end. With a low resolution, there will be no cool noise displacement. Just increase the value of the "subdivision node" of the Ico Sphere to get the detailed virus surface!
for your issue with the noise ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pUoOZP_fffc.html, add a Substract vector math with 0.5 on each axis between your noise Color and the Offset of the Set Position ;)
