Scanned paper maps, drawings or maps found online may contain useful information not found elsewhere. GIS allows us to georeference a map to link the image its corresponding location. This video tutorial shows the steps to complete the georeferencing of a map with ArcGIS.

Excellent video. Thank you very much. I would like only to know how can I export now the image as image? I had put a point with coordinates in my reference map and I wanted that point to be shown in the image after the georeference.

Mine doesn't auto adjust when i select points. it saves the points but nothing changes with the location of the image, help?

i have tried to georeference a google earth image using arc gis 10.1 but each time i try to input the third control point, all the points disappear completely and i get an error message.someone help me please....... do i have to define projection firs then georeference or which one should come first?

when I try to rectify image in jpg format arc map 10.2.2 shows Error Output file format with specified pixel type or number of bands or colormap is not supported.Refer to the'Technical specifications for raster dataset formats' help section in desktop Help.
