Yep it is also a way of denial to pretend he isn’t gone laughing like it never happened. Me at my Dad’s funeral (I don't remember saying much. I couldn't cry. I couldn't do anything) This made me mad. Why was I so heartless? I wanted to cry to feel something anything! But I couldn't not until I laid my head on my pillow. And everything broke. I balled myself to sleep that night.

My dad was a character. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. A few jokes were said at his funeral. My cousin thought his whole service was "inappropriate". She didn't get it.

It's more like Missy's innocence (being still young) in defending his dad when she thought everyone was making fun of him. Thank God for Georgie explaining it to her saying "cause they love him"

Same happened to me at my moms funeral

Its like your emotions dry up and at a very random moment the emotion all manifest 100 fold.. its when after funeral mass (I’m catholic) the casket is leaving the floodgates of tears just explode 😢

I feel you, it was me at my grandmother’s and grandfather’s funeral. Even tho I wanted to cry I couldn’t.

That happened to me at my Grandpa's funeral. I didn't pay attention to the service or anything. I couldn't because I didn't want to cry. I had cried a lot, and truth be told, I don't think I could've cried. I don't regret not paying attention. The only people speaking were people who I never knew, and by what they were saying, I don't think they knew my grandpa either. I wish they could've had people speak who actually had stories to share, so that we all could've cried together. Instead, I sat there emotionless, and that's how I know Sheldon was hurting too.

I wish Georgie had talked to Sheldon before the funeral. He would have said something simple that would've given him comfort.

​@@aaronwilson4267you really think Sheldon would have listened to Georgie. Sheldon has never been shown to acknowledge Georgie's hard work.He didn't value anybody who wasn't intelligent.He thought Georgie was a good for nothing person.

I feel like Sheldon changed once he became a father. He was still the Sheldon who loved science and had the awards (even the Nobel prize at that point which was what he had been dreaming of his whole life). After he achieved and he became a father, he began to have some emotional maturity and understood how he could be a burden at times. So I guess he stopped being a man-child considering he now had to take care of children of his own. I guess it's all about perspective and experience.

Ok the writers showed us Sheldon's take on how everyone was behaving after George's death but who knows maybe Missy is also in the same state of mind.She might have been regretting things she has done or said to George in the past and the biggest regret of her life might have been that she rejected his offer to give her a ride to school before he left for work where he died. And Missy having been the closest to George makes sense in her anger of losing George. It is pretty reasonable. And seeing Sheldon lost in thoughts Missy took the initiative to talk to him but he dismissed her by telling that he was thinking about Star Trek after which she didn't bother to ask him anything again.When Sheldon said that George's funeral was irrelevant Missy again got triggered thinking he doesn't care about George's death As viewers we know Sheldon's feelings but the truth is he also never bothered to ask Missy and Georgie how they were dealing with George's death. He didn't even bother to talk to Mary and understand her grievance who was visibly in a complete mess. Georgie talked to Mary once and understood what she was going through and when he couldn't help he asked Meemaw for help in talking to her as he was worried about her. Sheldon being the closest to Mary couldn't see Mary losing herself after the death of George.

​@@sushreepadhito be honest, I'm surprised that Sheldon still has teeth until his adulthood with how he acted. Georgie has his father's fist, and maybe just a bit too much of his kindness too.

@@tonythong5352 Well Sheldon didn't have any friends in CalTech before Leonard became his roommate because judging by the fact that he was always showing off his knowledge people in Caltech would have behaved with him the same way people at East Texas Tech did till he met Leonard,Howard and Raj and then the others and all of them had to deal with him till the end of BBT.

Especially it was him who probably saw his best friend "alive" last before that heart attack.

The sad thing is that Meemaw is most likely dead by the time Sheldon is writing his memoir. She was 71 when George passed away in 1994, meaning she would be 101 if by some miracle she was still alive in 2024.

I found out recently my father is dying of leukemia. We do not know how long he has left exactly, but his doctor said it’s stage 4 and too advanced for treatment. What I am grateful for is the fact that we still some time left to share and express how much we love him. There will be no regrets or unsaid words. That brings me closure and allows me to prepare emotionally for when it does happen. I could not imagine how bad it would hurt for him to just be gone one day with so many unsaid words and regrets.
