Because he was a workaholic. Could never relax. I remember one episode the Dr make him go on a vacation. He went to Hawaii.

@Freedomofspeechisajoke the truth is....Sherman Hemsley had a contract with the suit company Botany 500. The deal was for him to model the entire suit. This deal is even listed in the closing credits.

George was being such a male chauvinist saying the Help Center was all women's work. He ought to want to help all he can and if he helps by hiring a young man like Marcus he's having a part in the Help Center so it's no longer women's work. He needed a good swift kick in this episode. Love Florence, this show may not have lasted as long without her. She's so funny!
