I’m 79. Understood his style that was funny and insightful at the same time. He finished with a ditty called, “The American Dream.” Not much laughter but an audience stunned by the raw truth that falls effortlessly from his head. Absolutely the best there is. Thanks Mr Carlin. I miss you.
hmmm why? Is this pushed down out of site, shadow banned, or just banned? Why are people or youtube removing this that all need to see? 3 2 1 honest factual reality check.. Don't be scared, anyone, just keep calm, smile, joke appropriately when appropriate and do what's needed! Honest Factual Reality check of what THEY try to hide on this earth again now perhaps more than ever before. While most are obsessed with getting "rich?" their selfish desired forms of escapism and needless [poisoning excessive materialism. lust and addictions here's what's really going on... Here's the evil crazy massively polluting insanity while they claim to be stopping "global warming?" and "climate change?". How do they get the big all nations war going? Ruin the earths economies with the evil insane large portion of the earth's hierarchy, their corporations, governments and criminal bribed helpers all stealing as much as they can in every way they can. This creates massive inflation, poisoning and destruction all over the earth. This forces people to take hierarchy slave classes-controlled positions, government and military careers, jobs and lives of crimes. All of which are endlessly self-punishing miserable suicide organizations, secret societies, clubs and cults! Then off to war to be depopulated aka mass murdered. Wars cause power consolidation and massive profits also from industrial and other revolutions that massively pollute, waste resource's, kill CHILDREN, people and poison the earth and its places. All for consolidation of power, for the most insane rulers, their control, to attempt to put in more of the technology illegal spying and controlling people slavery BEAST system all over the earth So, they're ALL full of crap massively! The End! for most on earth. They're INSANE. Those who poison CHILDREN, adults, the earth, ruin place atter place and mass murder, bring the same upon themselves! The end of insanity cycle and IF anyone is left afterward, they will have to hide far away anywhere in any not ruined by their mass insanity poisoning of the earth's places. Here's what they're really doing secretly. Poisoning mountain tops, snow, and waters that run downhill in every way! They also go into springs, streams, lakes, rivers and the oceans. Also, toxic poisons from weapons, chemical, bioweapons, depleted uranium and so on. Total lunacy! Who wants to be behind such madness, help in it, or allow it!? The politicians are around 99% liars, scammers, terrorists and thieves running slave classism for even worse criminal hierarchy. The corporations and governments are also for-profit corporations. They also promote everything about getting rich, to sellout CHILDREN, humanity and the earth. Meanwhile they never let you have enough power, or money to compete with the rulers. If you get out of line, they abusively reeducate you, by taking your money and materialism, or worse lock you up for slave labor / to steal taxes and skims from the system or get you to commit suicide. Additionally, THEY have plans to offer you to be exterminated if you don't want to go to jail or prison. Total mass insanity. Find other options people! That's how this is stopped, or at least you survive! I'm posting here and everywhere as much as I can to get final warnings out to anyone deserving on how to stop and avoid this massive insanity! I usually post on infowars but they were threatened by hierarchy and government yet again with arrests and being shut down or were cracked/hacked to stop it. Likely told if they don't stop the spread of exposure of the terrorism/crimes run TOP on down. Politicians all over the earth selling out everyone else! Claiming to be for the people while profiting off terrorism, crimes and often owning stocks/investments in poisoning and profiting of RUIN of CHILDREN, adults, and the earth plus wars and mass murder slavery corporations/systems etc. etc. Most likely this means the free flow of information in comments that expose the terrorism and crimes in hierarchy and governments etc. They threatened to kill me so many times I cannot even count them anymore. Most they say and do are all lies, scams, fear threat coercion terrorism crimes, rights violations other REAL working laws violating crimes of all types they can come up with or do and bluffs with these control freak terrorists and criminals. Also, if you protect rights all day every day and everywhere plus a very short set of working all of history laws only that also protect everyone's rights, then this mass insanity stops ASAP and AMAP! As Much As Possible! Pass it on!
I am 55 and my first exposure to Carlin was when Class Clown came out, my parents owned it and I would listen to it over and over when they were not home, which was most of the time....I miss him terribly...that album got me through a period of witnessing egregious domestic violence at home between my step mom and father when divorce was NOT socially acceptable, making me ostracized at school too...rough time made less so by Carlin's ability to just take me elsewhere, ya know?
George was a philosopher, prophet, political analyst, an anthropologist and social commentator AND a comedian all rolled into one..rest in peace George.
I am too damaged to be able to debate whether humans are this way because everyone is also too traumatized or the ones who were blessed with easy upbringings and given everything on a plate screwed us all. I'd like not to be cynical but I think we're all cowardly to some degree a few exceptions like George and others (even they will have their downs nobody's perfect I'm sure they'd admit their flaws which is pretty much the battle) Everyone mostly these days in the UK is a drama queen, back stabbing, shit stirring, materialistic, piece of shit. I see either intentional evil or bullying I'm not intelligent enough to understand.
@@giusepperesponte8077 you did not know Carlin...just stating facts but that hurts the white entitlement..try seeing more of his shows. seems you are triggered easy..look in the mirror.
I consider you FUCKING lucky! I only learned of George around 2012, after watching Dogma, and then I discovered a brilliant satirist and kindred spirit, my kind of people. Too late. I wish back in the late 1980's and early 1990's, when the Cold War kind of ended, instead of Santa Barbara and other crap, the Russian TV had purchased recordings of Carlin's performances. Then my people would know that not all Americans are brainwashed idiots, clinically incapable of critical thinking. Oh well, your government isn't the only one that believes all people need is "light entertainment," obviously.
Gitfiddle 7766 I was just thinking to myself I wish I would have seen him live before he died. One of my great regrets in life. George's comedy/ "spoken point of view" hold a super special place in my memories. He was a genius and he is sorely missed.
Two of the most hardest comedians to ever lose…George Carlin and Robin Williams. The world isn’t the same without them. Can you imagine the material they would both have in todays society!!!
Oh boy!!! I was thinking the exact same thing! I think George would be outraged, and maybe even take these woke trans, grooming...... on and on, and go a bit deeper than comedy even. I am sure he would use his anger in a comedic way up to a point. But as this insanity gets worse, he might get a bit more radical and he would never in any way tolerate being told to use "pro-nouns" etc. He most likely would start getting people to yell NO ! ENOUGH !! We ain`t playing this game.
@@gib59er56George utterly loathed the Republican mindset , he had issues with the liberal Democrats, but he completely detested republicans and conservatives attitudes…hell all the way back to …doing in New Jersey. He’d crap on trump and desantis and all the rest , and yes even Hillary , too.
With people who have something to tell and experience booms of creativity it is best to just let them flow. Normally never challenging your guest as an interviewer is being a bad interviewer though. But I guess it is not that kind of interview.
The interviewer’s name is Sonny Fox. He hosted a morning show on Sirius/XM Raw Dog. He recently passed in August 2020. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonny_Fox_(XM_Radio)
"I'm not an angry man. Anger implies that I care. I didn't really care about the species. I just don't care. We had great possibilities, but we squandered it."
@@jzeltser Yeah, he spent years, decades, practicing speaking and his act. This would be the outcome! "You know, I'm think I'm starting to see some improvement"
George was the first person who told me that things aren't always what they seem. I love him for that. He wasn't a comic; he was more like a mirror of society. Deep down i think he wanted us to laugh at him less and, instead, stand up and say, "Hey you're right! What the fuck is wrong with us? Lets do something about all the fucked up shit we indifferently allow to persist while we focus so intently on ourselves."
RusA MousikA Yeah, I think I know, mostly religious fanatics who think that Earth is 6,000 years old and that Carlin is burning in hell. This comment was for sane people in USA like Carlin was. You maybe in minority but there are a lots of sane people out there. Don't give up hope.
He was a straight-up Genius. Amazing thing about him, everything he said on stage was not only hilarious, but oh sooo TRUE. RIP, George. You're Truly Missed, but not forgotten.
+khairowensullivan PuppetMaster specifically said he was being a troll. If no one encouraged trolling by responding, and acted as if whatever the troll typed, there would be less trolling.
I do agree with you. I am from Shreveport Louisiana and George Carlin was in the Airforce for a short while at Barksdale Airforce Base outside of Shreveport in Bossier City.
Which is why RU-vid (and such) is so great. All these people who didn't get to grow up watching him on television are discovering him here and he is living on inspiring another generation.
That's why I'm here. My kind hearted wife has a nasty type of breast cancer. I needed a comedic break after fighting our insurance company and a very broken medical system.
Was he always in the best position to judge? The drugs, the shattered relationships, the weaponising of comedy that he epitomises. "Muhammad Ali wanted to beat people up.../ if you don't go to kill people (in Vietnam) then we're not going to let you beat people up" that's quite a funny statement, when he puts it like that. But it's not a joke - it has the element of surprise, for pleasurable anxiety, the relief of laughter. But that sort of thing is a weakness into the world of real humour, even rebellious, ruder humour, for the politician, for free lance pundits like George Carlin to take over. There are so many people doing it that way now, it's saturated with liberal fascism.
Thank you George for wasted decades that made bosoms blossomed and so did my taste in art of actin... to said it shortly: I’ve would of loved you if We have met. R.I.P. And He was here a second ago...
George was a very intelligent, amazing comedian. He spawned generations and made people think how fucked everything was at that point in time. Its was genius how he put it all together. There will never be another. He was a total original and will be missed.
He was an 8th grade genius with a command of the english language like no other. You're correct in describing this interview as a "matserpiece of self explanation." Sonny Fox did an outstanding job conducting this interview.
That glimmer of a smile he gave the audience when his radio bit was played, being proud and comical of where he started and how far he'd come since then, we miss you George.
We're all so lucky to have been able to hear George's thoughts. He gifted so many with astute knowledge wrapped in an hour of laughter. The best teacher ever! You are a cherished legend that's greatly missed. Thank you for being you till the end George! You're my hero!!!
If the world is a big joke then George Carlin would be a journalist, and the "journalists" would be the real comedians. Hey yeh you're right it is a big joke lol
Comedians in courts have always had that role really, no one could speak bluntly to the king, and say for example that the king did something wrong or something of that kind. But the comedian could make a joke about it, and then the king could receive the information without having to kill the guy for being ''irreverent'' towards the authority of the king. Because after all, it was just a joke, right? That's why I hate when comedians say (to get out of trouble) that ''it's just a joke, just a show, nothing of this is real''. Of course it is, otherwise it would not be interesting, and certainly it would not be funny. So today they make a funny joke about feminism/women, then they hide behind and say it's all made up, just a joke, but we know it isn't.
Refreshing- great to hear your voice again, George! RIP...needed to hear you wisdom especially during these particularly dark times. Your truth and spirit is a much-needed salve for those of us trying to hold onto our sanity.
My brother-in-law use to watch ALL OF GEORGE CARLIN AND HE WAS intelligent,he could never get enough of him I was about 6 years younger so I didn't get everything George would put out but when I got older ,I started under
>"He was here just a minute ago." That line almost brought a tear to my eye because now we know that he has since passed away. It seems too soon; or too close.
Mr. Carlin got me through high school and college in many ways. He feels like an old friend to me. I wish I could have met him. I love seeing his reminiscent smile here.
23:57 Gotta love how nostalgic George looks at hearing the intro to his old radio show. It's great to know that, with all his cynicism, he was still able to look back fondly on his life. ... He was here just a minute ago!
I realized this is similar to a modern day podcast format, but filmed many years ago, pretty incredible. I discovered George Carlin and his comedy recently, and I haven't been able to stop binge watching him and all the amazing work he's done. It's insane to me how relevant and applicable almost EVERYTHING he ever said is to today's world. He was such well educated and well spoken person, and he definitely did his research when it came to writing his comedy because of all the tiny details he mentions that a lot of people don't notice. I'm so grateful for his existance and thank God we have the power of the internet so we may never forget about great people like him.
You only just discovered Carlin recently? How old are you? 10? Ever heard of Elvis? Ali? Michael Jordan? The Beatles? I seriously doubt that George ever had to 'research' anything. He was a genius. And how do you know what people 'notice' and what people don't? George was not 'well-educated', and he'd be the first to tell you that. But he was very smart.
And then he died just more than a year later. I recall seeing his obit in the newspaper in 2007. What a genius he was, and one-of-a-kind. God love ya George. We miss you.
Only a few things in my life where I actually remember where I was when I heard he the news. His passing was one of them. Not sure why or the reason it's only a handful of events that I can clearly remember, but it is. Maybe it's a similar way of thinking, or realization (and repsect) of words having meaning, the silliness of politics, racism, and a need for political correctness, but whatever it is obviously he and his ideas, thoughts, and grievances (see what I did there) have shaped me as I grew up. I turned 21 years old on October 17th in 2001 (just 5 weeks after 9/11) So as most turning 21 living in So CA do, I go to Vegas with a friend (that was of age) and some family. This was all completely unplanned, and I had no knowledge of him even being there, but when we showed up and pulled into town (on the 16th) we see on a huge neon sign GEORGE CARLIN @ MGM GRAND 10/17 !!! Obviously sold out by now, or waaaay too expensive, probably both. But we go out that night and at midnight start to gamble, blackjack.. By 3am myself, my buddy, and my mom had all won $300-$500 each. So now I'm thinking, it's prob sold out but let's try to get these tickets. We show up at the MGM at like 930am as ticket booth opened at 10. They open we ask, and the lady said, I'm sorry but unfortunately all the seats have been sold. Bummed but what we somewhat expected I say, are you sure, and my buddy adds in "its his 21st bday". She says, yeah, I'm sorry, all seats are sold out. We start to walk away and get about 10 paces away when she calls out for us. She say "so I wasn't even aware of this, and I just looked, but apparently we have 2 tickets available in the sound/light area (like a bullpen at a baseball field) but they're just chairs, no table, no drink service, just 2 chairs. "We'll take em..!!" Needless to say, BEST FKN SEATS IN THE HOUSE..!! And if I remember correctly the tickets were only like $70. No need for a table, and a little flask with a soda was all we needed. ...there was also a lingerie convention in town that weekend, but that's another story. Saw him only once live, but I'm proud and happy to say I was able to. The way it all unfolded and happened was crazy lucky though looking back
EXCELLENT!! I’ve loved George Carlin since I first saw/heard him❤. I’m 69 yrs old now and I TRULY AGREE With his stance on our Government, World Views and everyday life NO MATTER WHERE you live or come from!! 💕🙏🙏
No script, off the cuff, not a routine...articulate, profound, hugely informed, and what a vocabulary for an 8th grade graduate. I love the way Carlin could talk about himself without sounding the least bit self-centered. Also, kudos to Sonny Fox, who could teach reams to bigger names than himself about the art of interviewing.
I'm so glad that I was able to see George Carlin live in the 1980s with my dad. We didn't have the best seats in the house but we both pissed our pants laughing the entire show.
George was and is my favorite. I still have his first LP (yeah, a vinyl album) entitled "I used to be an Irish Catholic." He is my all time favorite comedian, along with Robin Williams.
Interesting I always thought George C. and Robin W. were similar personalities both razor sharp wits with unique thinking minds, never following the herd.
He lived 1 year and 1 month more after this. This interview was april 2007. Best comedian on the social, linguistic, spiritual, political and religious subjects. . Last HBO special "Its Bad For Ya" was on 1 st of March 2008, televised live and he died few months later, 22 June 2008.
"he was here just a minute ago. " what a good version of the human being. Don't forget folks, life is about having fun. Enjoy the short time you have here. And try not to hurt anyone.
I've discovered a comedy of George shortly after he died, I'm originally from Ukraine but I know English very well and live in UK. I can say few things about George - he's tremendous character, intelligent, got great speech skills and use of language, and the best comedian of all times in my view. And to sum the thing up, I think his profession was - GENIUS!
Great interviewer. Asked a question and sat back. And of course Mr. Carlin did the rest. This was a great interview of a great American Artist and I really enjoyed listening. George is now dead, but we have the opportunity to listen to and enjoy his work. And so he lives on.
Listening to him today is fresh. Its like he is still here with us. I thought I was the only one who didn't give a shit until I discovered this great. He liked jazz 🎶 too.
Even if he didn't do comedy, I could just listen to George Carlin talk......He had that wonderful radio speaking voice, and what a great story teller.....Of all the comics who have passed, I miss him most of all.....
It's scary to think about how close he was to his death but also realize how alive and sharp and on point he was. I really regret not seeing him live. RIP George. There will never be a comedian who has a larger impact on the world.
I totally agree. George Carlin had a depth that no comic has ever approached. And though he wasn't "college-educated," he was an intellectual, without a doubt.
@@ronaldbell3788 thank God he wasn’t college educated lol…he probably would have been indoctrinated and never given us the wisdom he has given all of us.
OR BIGGER SET OF BALLS ,,HE SAID WHAT U CANT GET AWAY WITH ON SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS ,,SO CALLED COMMUNITY STANDARDS ,,OBSERVATION OF ONES WEAKNESS SUCH AS POLITICIANS AND RELIGION ,,THE CONTROL AND MANIPULATION OF THE WORLD ,,GEORGE WAS THE BEST AND RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING
I live in the U.K. & I had never heard of George till last week when I was watching RU-vid videos of old American comedians. It's surprising how unknown he is here because I reckon his comedy would have been very appreciated in the U.K.
Can't help feeling and realizing the treasure we lost when he passed away as we listen to his videos and audios today...they don't make them like him anymore...a true golden standard of comedy and satire...his sets still resonate today...
Everything Carlin said was the truth, and his view of the US was dead on. He was something of a prophet, as well as a brilliant man, who cut straight through the BS in a way that made you both think and laugh your @$$ off. I wonder what he would think about America today? There will never be another like him.
George Carlin died, he didn't pass away, nor did he expire like a magazine subscription...just fuckin' with ya...keep that life in the language to paraphrase the man himself. (Albeit a bit ironically, as he's dead)...but I swear, he was here just a minute ago! Peace outside! (And inside for those of us that can manage it...lol...I know I have enough trouble with it, I can't quite seem to let go of giving a fuck...lol again...But the fuck do I know, I guess I just crack me up)

I was a fan since FM & AM came out. He was, without a doubt, the greatest comedian ever. The shear volume of material is amazing. No one comes close. He was brilliant.
I encountered George Carlin very shortly after he died. I totally fell in love and proceeded to watch and listen to everything I could find. It's always so strange for me to watch something like this and feel like he is still so present in my life, and yet for every moment I've spent with him, he was already dead. Fucking weird.
I had the privilege of appearing on television with George Carlin in 1976 (Chuck Barris Rah Rah Show episode #1). He came on stage and for 3 or 4 minutes said absolutely nothing. Brilliant!
simple reason behind your statement... they were great at telling the truth the most of the people do not see even if you shove it up in their eyes ears and throats. some people will come up and say they are not that funny ... well they are not about funny
My first exposure to George Carlin was in 1994 on his HBO special; I was 4 years old. I convinced my mom that if I could listen to her cuss and know not to repeat it, then I could listen to him. It was the best thing she ever did for me. I would have asked him what it was noticed that made him realize we had owners.
I'd wager it was a mix of bullshit schooling, dishonest politics, and seeing how his parents navigated their world. But we will never know probably. A great man with great insight.
I never sit still and watch things like this but I watched the entire show and loved every minute of it. And great applause to the interviewer who asked great questions ss did the audience, and he let him speak uninterrupted!
Agreed, I get so annoyed with interviewers that have to chime in constantly with a "mhmmm" or a "yea", or with their little side stories. It is so distracting, and disrespectful (even if by accident). I noticed this interviewer doesn't even nod silently in agreement, he simply lets Carlin tell his stories. Definitely an undervalued skill, to which this interviewer did a wonderful job.
Wow, i mean W T F are you talking about? The W T F is to simply express shock value. No more no less. So idk but wtf you saw, i saw exactly opposite in some circumstances. Ok thats all. Idc.
