This was a beautiful and necessary love letter to himself, speaking to the partner she is - but also was - when they fell in love. Those that evoke the strongest feelings in us will always present us the greatest joy, but also the greatest pain, I think it can only ever be this way.
natedoggg2002 it's amazing. He's done a lot of movies, though. Not everything's absolute. It could just be amazing acting. It doesn't take away from the power of the scene
Simp city. If she was awake right then she wouldn't have even cared to see him. I'm not saying that the guy should hate her but even after she is a vegetable he is still a door mat for her.
He couldn't seek the comfort from the pain she caused him. For him to not carry that pain his only salvation was forgiveness. To speak his final goodbye would undoubtedly save his soul too.
Tears running down my cheeks, falling down to make wet freckles on my shirt...JFC, RU-vid Algorithm, I almost made it 24 hours without you making me cry.
This movie was so poignant because it creates such a snapshot of an insanely uncomfortable time when an entire community is learning all about the sins of this person who will never wake up, but is technically alive. This family will never get closure with the person who hurt them, and yet they are also grieving her loss at the same time.
Anybody who’s been in that room. Who’s watched their loved one slip away. Watched their skin change color. Felt their body go cold. Knowing they’d be going home alone to tell their children their mom is not coming home. To walk past all the nurses you’ve come to know on a first name basis. To realize you don’t need that parking pass that you just reloaded anymore. To find that a nurse or orderly stole your wife’s credit cards while her belongings were moved to the ER.
@@Mr.Lubbox-Lobsterlegz1 Lol "she was lonely" isn't a "get out of being a terrible human being" card. If you're lonely then speak up. If you're still lonely and find yourself on the verge of an affair, then tell your partner you're leaving them.
There is no penance nor remorse on her part... not one ounce of rumination... she skipped it all.... I'd be checking out if she was cheating on me and got into coma. And send her to silent grave no goodbyes... nothing....
On the bright side, she's gone and he gets to keep the kids, house, and pension, and stock options, and she gets cold earth. She doesn't deserve absolution or forgiveness at least not yet. If there's a purgatory she needs to sit there 100 years for each banging and infidelity Act. Disappointed in such films, makes the ladies think cheating or infidelity is Justified if the reason is good enough even when it's not.
This movie is about flawed people trying to find the answer to the loneliness in thier hearts. Clooney's character has to introspect on his part he had to play, as the other family characters mentioned "he was never around"; he too was looking for fulfilment with his mistress aka "work". It's easy to just throw all the blame on her, but the other guy too went along with it for "sex". Relationships are complex. It's easy to run away. Clooney is mad at her, but also at himself which is why he forgives and lets go at the end. He has to forgive himself too so he can move on with life, not ignore family or overwork and be functional in his future relationship.
My wife left me 9 months ago and as much as I hate her for what she did, I would never wish harm against her. I still love and care for her, and I would rather her thrive with someone else than have no life at all.
When I first saw this movie I thought he had written her off for cheating on him. Did not expect this scene at all. It ripped my heart out. Beautiful scene.
Because women don't cheat unless they've lost all love and respect for their husband. Not so for men. Men can have a mistress and give zero shits about her. He'll cheat because he's lonely and his wife is a bitch and using sex as a weapon, but he's hoping she'll turn back into her old self. He doesn't care that she cheated. He cares that she loved the other man
I would have pulled that plug on the very first day I found out she was cheating and just told the girls that she passed away! Good bye and good riddance. Cheaters are completely worthless and their lives are expendable.
Most women never do. Once a woman cheats its over. Women don't contemplate cheating until they've lost all love and respect for their man. Not true for men. Men can have a mistress and not give two shits about her. He's just lonely and hoping his wife will return to her old self.
It's so weird, because this is my least favorite performance of his (and I know how much people love it). He's always struggled with range and I felt he was forcing his way into those feelings. Up in the Air was where his acting really shined. He was in his alley and nailed it.
I never thought I kiss my father but when I saw him open cascket the last time I saw him, gave a kiss on his forehead, in his cheek and one on his mouth, I will always love Diones De Andrade Regis😢
@@justinfever9787 I mean, you came fishing for compliments/support on the internet: you should’ve expected as much, or had a thicker skin towards the answer you got. MaYbE sHe LeFt BeCaUsE yOu WeRe ToO sEnSiTiVe. …all joking aside, sorry to hear that dude. I imagine that this scene must be either traumatic or cathartic for you.
@@justinfever9787 I have no idea dude: I was basically just a troll when I made this account like ~10 yrs ago and eventually got older and stopped trolling (…y’know, as much) so I’ve said a lot of different shit in a lot of different places.
Philip Mancera But it shows how strong and understanding he was for forgiving her for cheating and ruining his life. After all if that he still loved her.
1. RU-vid is statistically dominated by males 2. Sampling and confirmation bias 3. Maybe the people who are more likely to watch a movie clip about cheating, happen to be spiteful men- such as yourself
@@ABaguette I don't think he said they had no remorse or sympathy in GENERAL but rather that they didn't have remorse in this scene. I would've liked a comment or two from women, I was actually looking for one just now lol
