Alain Caron ist probably the only Bass Guitar Player who does not make a theater of playing but plays impeccably both the fretted 6 and the fretless 6. Very few bassists come near to his intonation.
Love that Stella By Starlight he did. Alain Caron is probably the single bassist whose playing style and musical ideas influenced me the most. But even I can't make any serious claims to knowing of only very few bassists coming near to his intonation. Among those I can name of whom I've come to be aware are Gary Karr, Renaud Garcia-Fons, David Allen Moore, Marcos Machado, Hans Sturm, Bozo Paradzik, and Rimat Ibragimov. And before my introduction to these guys there was Michael Manring, Gary Willis, Jaco, Brian Bromberg, Tom Kennedy. And then there's every principal bassist for every major metropolitan orchestra who wouldn't hold their positions if they couldn't keep in tune.
This guy has to be one of the very best fretless players ever....he is someone whose playing I could use as a benchmark for my own....great intonation hands down.....
Loved this! Thanks to everyone who had a part in bringing this to us. I have literally owned THREE FBass AC6 basses, one fretted. I've sold the fretted AC6, but I still have my AC6 and AC6 Classic. I also have a couple of BN6s, a BN5, and a VF5. Fbass makes the best six-string basses without question.
I had a furlanetto guitar sometime in the 80's it was a well rounded shaped lp style guitar with a wooden boomerang style wooden tailpiece I remember it having maybe Schaller parts and cream coloured hb pickups maybe push pulls if I remember correctly I was young so I never kept it long but regret selling it it was neck through body
There should be an award for "Best Placement of Flowers in a Video." Just kidding, but a slight bit annoying. It is interesting that as a non-base player I can hear the things he speaks of.
