An obituary for George Harrison following his death on 29th November 2001, aired on "Today Tonight", Seven Network, Australia. Includes portions of a 1995 interview, presumably when Harrison was plugging the Beatles' Anthology.
YOUR WRONG GEORGE.... Nobody forgot the Beatles. EVER. The Beatles will go down in history even one hundred years from now. Nobody forgot "him" because he was out of the mainstream,NOT 4 A MOMENT. The BEATLES are IMMORTAL. It will always be John,Paul,George & Ringo. They reign supreme...
R I P George....thank you for your beautiful music, you gave us more than music, you gave us love songs, memories, that have carried me from the time I was 8 yrs old, to know an adult...I will a forever Beatles Girl...you are terrible missed.....I know the Angels are happy to hear your music, while your guitar gently weeps.....
I grew up listening to the music of "The Beatles." George Harrison was always my favorite. I absolutely adore him. It's too bad we all have to die but I know one thing for sure 🎸George is up in Heaven rocking on with 🎸John Lennon🎸Tom Petty🎸Billy Preston🎸and 🎸Roy Orbison🎸 Rest In Peace
15 YEARS AGO TODAY, THE ANNIVERSARY OF HIS DEATH. MY FAVORITE BEETLE. A SPIRITUAL MAN WHO HELPED ME GET THROUGH SOME TOUGH TIMES. MUCH LOVE AND APPRECIATION. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND TAKE CARE!!
George I will never forget you. The world is a poorer place since you left it and I love all your songs all the way back to Don't Bother Me ! I will love you forever and a day 🙏
THE WORLD WAS SHORT CHANGED OF MORE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC, WHEN JOHN & GEORGE PASSED AWAY...........THE BEATLES ARE 'ETERNAL", THEY LEFT US ALL WITH FOND HAPPY & HYSTERICAL MOMENTS. BLESS THE 4 POOR BOYS FROM LIVERPOOL, AMEN
Although Australians like to take the mick out of English people, they recogise quality when they hear it, and George had quality, as well as a cool accent !
He wasn't Quiet , is just that John had to look like a leader, and when a smart question needed an answer John would become insecure and Paul was there to answer. But George was a big part of the group
@thegrinchl7 "Asking a lot"... hmm. Was anyone forced to watch it? I just don't get your arguments anymore. I loved every second of it - you didn't, BFD.
He wasn't full of bulls**t and half way up his own a**e like another Beatle i could think of. And fake hippie? He was the real McCoy, a genius like John.
@DasGoldenBoy I think it was more than that; an exchange recounted in Ian MacDonald's Revolution In The Head had Harrison saying during the sessions that he thought John's writing was going a little off towards the end, which Paul dismissed, but others have also thought this was John's Barry Manilow period (by the way, there is some sad poster with a numeric name stalking me around youtube. Just ignore his comment. Thanks).
@RollingOrmond I think he meant the sound quality. FAAB was from a cassette tape. The other's have talked about how when they were working on that song that it was a challenge. The bare bones of the song were there but filling in a lot of the gaps took a some effort.
@thegrinchl7 This is all your opinion, mate and "everybody's got one" - spot the Beatles lyric reference! Harharhar!!!. Don't like it - watch something else. I watched it and wished it had been twice as long. ... Why make these comments here? Find something you like and say what you like about it. If we all bitch about what we hate, this world will become a real shitty and negative place.
"From Me To You", the Beatles' third UK single. Unless you're talking about John's spoken word bit, which I think is from one of their early Christmas Fan-Club records.
@55painterman I submit the next (top) level is GOD IN CHRIST. We all have this longing in our lives, no matter how many experiences/accomplishments we have. We're happy for a moment, but then something gnaws at our souls for something better, indeed perfect. Nothing in this world will ever truly satisfy us. That's why eternity with Jesus who redeems our soul will be the perfect contentment. I hope John & George found Jesus.
@mmg1123 well out of all the beatles John had the most issues he was a homosexual that wouldnt come out and also a herion addict after he got with yoko. Not sure thats considered talent.
