Lando was on fire that qualifying session, was going to be easy poll had he not crashed. Treacherous conditions, and he pushed them to the extreme. No wonder George did well to study Landos lines

We all have short memories because of George's last two seasons at Mercedes but that P2 at the Belgium GP for Williams, granted it was a bit farcical, was highly impressive

You can say what you want, but Lando will always own his mistakes and will never take solace in any excuse. It's the 'If you want to finish first you first need to finish'-mentality.
I fully understand the importance of qualifying and securing a good starting position but I'm never really gassed about it. If one can not convert or even improve that starting position into a race position it just becomes useless for us to praise you as a good qualifier. All the best to Lando and Yuki tomorrow, also hope Charles finishes higher.

It's funny to see how bad George actually is as a driver, he got so much to learn, somehow his car is so superior that he still reaches the top every once in a while. Imagine him having a proper teammate, I hope Sainz will become his teammate, then Mercedes can go for the title again.
The only reason why Merc was dominant is because they could spend billions on the car since there was no cost cap. Now since the introduction of the cost cap Mercedes suddenly doesnt know how to drive fast anymore.

Lando took a tighter line through the corner and crashed. Then the session was red-flagged (means that everyone gets in the pits and waits until green flag) and George just looked at the video of Lando crashing because he had time. He saw that Lando took tighter line and he decided to try that himself and it turned out to be the fastest line through the corner, making his sector 1 "purple" (means it's the fastest time for sector 1 among all drivers).

Yellow means it's not fast enough, green means it's personal best time, purple means it's the best time among all drivers. I think there's also a red sector, but I haven't seen that in so long, I forget it even exists. Or maybe it doesn't.
