The writers for this show deserve so much credit. Usually sitcoms have forced humor and the jokes run dry, but the jokes said here were actually funny. It all depends on delivery too of course and George NAILED it every time. Easily one of the funniest sitcoms
I Love Lucy was the first to use a live audience. Ever since a live audience has been used in sitcoms. I my self was a page for various sitcoms in the late 90s to early 2000s. Is a laugh track used? Yes and it not because the jokes are not funny it because we do multiple takes and after take 5 for example the audience does not laugh as they would from the first take. The laughs you hear are from the actual audience.
For those who don't know, this was George's first show and never acted so he admitted the reason he bulged his eyes out during expressive scenes is because he is trying to show us the emotion on his face, and didn't even realize he would do em. The shit first time actors do I guess. Lol, I was always curious about that if it was just a thing he did as a person or for the show
I love two and a half men for it’s dark humour and obviously in an adult show. Kids can watch George lopez and there’s enough subliminal dark jokes for us adults to enjoy. I’m on peacock binge watching this show I’m on season 4 now. I’m addicted
When you look at the shows that had "staying power " before and after syndication, it's almost always the shows where the cast really cared and loved each other. It definitely shows on this sitcom. I remember when I accidentally watched my 1st time, I thought that I must be hard up watching a sitcom about a Hispanic family. But this show hit it out of the park every episode.
I'm assuming his parents only talked to him in Spanish when he was growing up but I believe George was born in LA? So I'm pretty sure he learned English at a young age.
