Well that is until he has to approve something that he fears might make him lose money ... Don't get me wrong he made Star Wars and for that he has my praise... But for fooks sake why did he wait so many years to release the DVD's and why did Europe have to wait 8-9 months longer on the release of Episode 1 (at which time the plot was utterly spoiled for me).
I had to look up who Mara Jade was. Does George Lucas not like the character ? I know this whole bit is a joke but is it a known thing he hates the character? If so why does he hate the character?
Oh man, i didnt even recognize Green. Lol yah that gives it all away then. Thats funny that Green and Robot Chicken are always making lampoons of Lucas, seems that he wouldn't be having a social meeting with em ? Unless he is encouraging lampoons and insults of him? Weird
George is actually a hilarious dude. Very quick witted, and dry sense of humor - and doesn't take himself too seriously like all these other directors who claim to be "artists". George truly IS one.
I remember reading an interview with some unknown actor who scored a part in one of the prequel movies playing a young version of someone from the originals, and the day he was supposed to be on camera he had cut himself shaving. He said that he went up to George Lucas to apologise because he thought he'd be in trouble, but Lucas looked at the cut and said "nah, that's a scar you got at the Battle of ," and it was fine.
@@TaurusInvicta Like the time John Stewart was interviewing him and asked George what planet Obi Wan was from. He deftly deflected the question and told Stewart that Obi was from the planet "Stewjohn".😂
Palpatine : "I am the ruler of this galaxy!" George Lucas : *Raises one eyebrow and says*..: "Shut it Palpatine, or else I will write you out of the script and kill you." Palaptine : @,@ *zips-it* George Lucas : "Atta boy"
@@silkycaterwaul3897ITs Like a meme He hate her but ITs obvious that its more Like He hate that Fake Fan. Mara Jade IS the Woman of Luke skywalker in the expanded universe which is Legends since Disney. She was one of the Hands of the emporer and was later Killed by the Last member of the rule of Two
The way Seth has to try so hard to keep it together and they still end up laughing at the end.. I don’t think anyone expected George to commit to the bit so hard, this is priceless lol.
Isn't this video a joke? Like the entire time somebody is laughing in the background. Then they do some fake fighting and none of the guys take George seriously.
The piece of DOGS*** that has written quite possibly the worst Spider-Man comic run that you will ever read. He's pretty much ruining the character. Both him and Marvel seem to love turning Spidey into their whipping boy.@@error_404_mma
Fun fact: he actually played as Baron Papanoida in Revenge of the Sith. You see his character in the hallway of the opera before Anakin goes in to talk with Palpatine. It’s a shame he didn’t have any speaking parts though.
George was great. He could take a joke and even contributed to projects that joked about his work. Every big Star Wars parody either was backed by him or the creators got to be involved in official stuff like the guy who made Troops. He got to work on a comic called Tag and Bink. Star Wars pre-Disney was genuine fun and now it’s a bigger case grab than what the “George Lucas killed my childhood” crowd could imagine. edit: Guys when I say "George was great" in past tense I mean when he owned Star Wars. I'm not saying he isn't great now or that he is dead. I'm saying Star Wars was in a better place before Disney.
@DTXSpeaks not really. I personally wasn't a big fan of the prequels until after the Clone Wars series filled out a lot of context, and i *DESPISE* the sequel trilogy with the absolutly passion of 1000 dying stars.
@@generalgrevious815 Actually yes. In the lead up to TFA they made a big deal about how they were going back to A New Hope using practical effects and even down to using the same type of cameras used for that movie. There was conscious effort to reassure those who didn't like the prequels that they were going back to the OT and it's very evident. One of the books released in the lead-up to TFA called "Life Debt" had story about Jar Jar being a traveling clown befriending an orphan and he says that everyone hates and blames him for the rise of the Empire by proposing that Palpatine be given emergency powers. It's mean-spirited and depressing. Him being frozen in carbonite? Hilarious. That? Not in the slightest.
@@muigokublack6487 It was extremely explicit. To this day you have Gen X-ers so obsessed with their hatred of George that they will earnestly say things like "If George Lucas made the sequels, the main character would be Jar-Jar." 🤦♂
I love this. George acknowledges that there's Star Wars lore he never created that his fans really like. He also pokes fun at himself for tyrannically insisting that the EU is fan fiction all these years.
Ironic since he had the idea for Palpatine's rebirth in Dark Empire ( the writers originally intended to clone Darth Vader ), approved of Luke and Mara's wedding and worked on the story of the first Force Unleashed video game which had declared as canon and the unofficial 4th prequel which connected the two trilogies.
Oh totally. Say what you will about his declining movie quality, but he's always been a good sport about allowing parody, he's been more then willing to let both Robot Chicken and Star Wars spoof him after all.
Mara Jade: "I love sand" Darth Vader: "I will break you child. I will make you hate everything about sand, and make you my apprentice!" Luke, much later: "Sand is pretty neat, actually" And that was the story of Mara Jade's fall and rise
@@SquirrelASMR 'Factory seconds' they are sometimes called. They had a minor flaw so they got sold at a discount at the dollar store for people who are okay with a minor flaw but are desperate for clothes.
Lucas could barely keep from laughing, so it seemed to be a skit. And a cameraman just coincidentally happened to be right there, which seems like if Lucas really did something like that in anger, the camman would have been told to stop filming before he went off. :)
2 Decibels is quite loud. For comparison, the average tv volume if on say the regular 12 would be about -32 Decibels although it can vary. I don't think George Lucas normally speaks at over -20D.
@@nog297 that’s actually very interesting, I’m actually a filmmaker so sound has always been a head-scratcher in production! I will correct my comment.
@@Rob_-dv6ei EDIT: It seems I was wrong, thankyou for clearing this up for me @None I used to be kind of confused about that eventually grew to just think that was how it was. This whole thing is kind of on me sorry ASeries Of Shorts for the misleading information. Thankyou for being so polite unlike somebody else in this thread. I am actually no expert so don't quote me or use that specific information for filmmaking I just know because my home theatre speaker system uses decibels so I have gotten used to it.
@Mahesh Hey, sound engineer here, I fiddle around with Hz and db a lot at work and can say that a normal human conversation is around 55 dB. In response to what @Ben Hartley is saying, some consumer electronics use a different scale to the normal dB that isn't actual dB but I am pretty sure what is happening with him is he is seeing the amplifier amount not the actual volume out of the speakers. Edit: I accidentally pressed send before I was finished typing.
Seeing George yell is like that one grandparent who you’ve NEVER heard yell suddenly snaps at a grandchild, and you feel super afraid because how bad was the offense to make them raise their voice?
Never ever had my grandpa yelled. He is a such good guy, because he felt guilty (because of his past). But one day me and my brother got in a fight. Grandpa tried to resolve it friendly, but in the end he yelled at us. I was so fucking afraid man
Oh I know the feeling when I was on my grandparents farm I went with my grandfather to go milk the cow he said not to scare the cow cuz it might kick him in the head but I did not listen and I danced in front of the cow while grandpa was milking it I did it very slowly so nothing happened but he did get mad at me
@@christopheranderson2576 He wasn't mad btw It was something of a skit, they were all in on it. Just a joke, and a pretty funny one at that. I like to come back to it
The first cut of Empire was so bad, George got really pissed and yelled at Irvin Kershner "I spent so much money only for you to make a bad movie!" Just reading that made me tense
George Lucas' door is the funniest part of this joke. Having to stand there and wait for it to fully open so that he can use the "close door" button, hahaha.
Lucas to Palpatine: I made you and I destroyed you... and I will sell you to Disney, so stop using your Sith quotes on me... Palpatine: nough nough nough nough...
I love how they desperately try not to laugh and fail each time. Especially the hysterical angry slapping across the face as he already leaves leaves me and the guy in the background in stitches 😂
It's because he just screamed at him, threw him out, then slapped him several times, over essentially a small misunderstanding. 🤣🤣🤣 it was a perfect skit lol
@Max Messinger knowing how the high republic is turning out, that’ll be a disaster probably. I don’t mind people enjoying Disney Star Wars, I just prefer to stick to the expanded universe
We are going to do this with no FX. No lightsabers, no force lightnings, just pure concentrated explosive anger. As if Kylo Ren had forgotten about the Force.
@@tacenda3250 Fair, I'd still say its a moral failure to allow yourself to become surrounded by sycophants and yes-men. Directors (and everyone else) need people around them who will be honest, especially in their disagreement.
@@connorcastilla4707 George Lucas also didn’t want to direct the prequels, he asked Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg to direct and both turned him down and told him to do it, so he did.
Imagine your dad. He's always chill, always joking around. But one day, you fuck up majorly and he yells at you for the first time in ages. This is what that feels like.
He didn't "act" like he hated her, he "acted" like he was angy over people always thinking he created her, he probably did this because he finds it funny that people think he created Mara Jade when he didn't.
