Everyone has their preferences and it’s great there’s enough out there to satisfy pretty much all of us. But to me, it doesn’t get much better than this. Listening to Lynch jam away with some of the most wicked axes in the style that made the man an icon. Sends chills down your spine. I had no clue how drastic music would change within a handful of years after this and this would become almost non existent on the scale it was then. All hail 80s George Lynch!

George was just a beast on guitar at this time! One of my favorites of all time. Wish he kept this style of playing. He managed to create his own which many could not at this time. Still awesome today but miss this tone and approach which was down right scary good.

Funny to think of all these guys in the room with him, just casually going about their business getting ready for the clinic, not really even paying attention to his playing. Imagine how many of us would have been in absolute Awe just listening to him warm up back then. Even now, with all of the incredible players out there, I would be ecstatic to sit in a room and soak this up for a couple of hours!

ironz18 Yeah, but this this video perfectly illustrates the good and bad of George. He is good at burning up the fretboard and squeling and sounding "exciting" to teenagers. His (huge) problem is that he is kind of a one trick pony. He doesn't have a good background in Theory like Randy Rhoads or John Petrucci, so as a consequence, there isn't much sense of a direction or structure to his playing. After listening to this for 5 minutes, one gets the impression you've heard his whole bag of tricks.

ADA MP1 ideally 3TM will give you the early years Lynch wall of treble..I testify!! For that shrill 80s tone (add chorus, reverb and delay for some serious wet-ing) the ADA will deliver..Somehow this thing is Thick and Shrill at the same time..Push the volume up and the front rows ears are gone...heads will follow... :) But it IS noisy and you will need a good gate. BTW George slays here.

Had to compete with Jackson Charvel the famous players who got free instruments through endorsement's jacked up the interest and PRICE!! We see this with our Les Paul's! The mind boggling market value of the Holy Grail 58-59-60 Standard!?!? Who were playing them at the time!? Imagine that players of that era weren't playing LP's ? I always attribute exaggerated price gouging with the artist association and hyped promotion!! Alot of us players are swayed by this! Got to meet and greet George after a Lynch Mob show in 91? Unbelievably gracious with his time and signed memorabilia!! We gave him a scarf of the Snake through Skull "Hagi" Black Strat he was cracking up and really appreciated it, it was epic meeting Mr.Scary!! Cheers !!

Killer tone! Though I always felt that George uses too much delay and it seems like he uses it as a crutch like he’s be lost and can’t play without it or at least wouldn’t feel comfortable anyways. Which is never a good thing. Which is why I practice on a totally dry tone then when it comes to playing I wet it up abs throw in the juice!!!! ;) I also practice and play on clean times quite often.

I wouldn't say it a crutch. A lot of the times players have a certain sound that inspires them and helps drive their creativity. It's the reason why Kirk Hammett uses wah a lot on his solos because it helps him creatively. Plus george has done plenty of solo work with a dry guitar tone. Tones of stuff even on Dokken's discography like Back For The Attack and Dysfunctional. All killer stuff with a drys sound

It’s to bad silken didn’t make another album right after back for the attack, beast from the east was good but I’d rather have another album! They had.deals and were becoming more popular! They had a green light but Don said he wouldn’t and could not work with george again in the studio. Makes me wonder if george was right that Don wanted it all for himself or if george was full shit ? Don said that wasn’t true. So who do you believe ? It was dons lose , he had the best guitarist in the world to me.

That’s because he wasn’t and isn’t even close. In fact he tries to play a lot of Yngwie’s licks here and quite poorly I might add. His hands aren’t synced up at unless he’s playing 80’s rock blues based licks. Don’t get me wrong he’s a killer player and I was really into his style back in the day but no one could touch Yngwie back then. Plus George is using waaaayyyy too much delay distortion and reverb and is totally dependent on it.
