It couldn't even decide how to pronounce "Sisler,:" not to mention ongoing issues with baseball slang.

Sisler, with Ken Williams and Urban Shocker, led the greatest Browns team of 'em all in 1922.

I think that it would have been better for him to stay at first.

He also helped Branch Rickey decide on signing Jackie Robinson.

Most likely. Branch Rickey was one of Sisler's closest friends for life.

A degree in ME? Cool. Not fair to compare stats between Irchiro and SIsler. Two totally different eras. Dimaggio won the MVP in '41. Ironically, not only did Ted Williams outhit Dimaggio, his BA for the whole season (.408) was higher than Dimaggio's during the streak. This was a result of media bias against Williams.

Yes. I think one reason the media hated Williams was he wouldn't tip his hat. He also didn't fraternize often with the reporters.

To think that Bill James called Sisler the most overrated player in baseball history. Go figure.

I think Sisler's stats would even be better if he had more protection in the lineup. And even so, he did pretty well. And he also batted .309 in his last year in the pros.

@@soyouthinkyouknowbaseball Sisler also had eye problems that affected the second half of his career.
