About Seinfeld:
Seinfeld stars Jerry Seinfeld as a stand-up comedian whose life in New York City is made even more chaotic by his quirky group of friends who join him in wrestling with life's most perplexing, yet often trivial questions. Often described as "a show about nothing," Seinfeld mines the humor in life's mundane situations like waiting in line, searching for a lost item, or the trials and tribulations of dating. Co-starring are Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Jerry's ex-girlfriend and current platonic pal, Elaine Benes; Jason Alexander as George Costanza, Jerry's neurotic hard-luck best friend; and Michael Richards as Jerry's eccentric neighbor, Kramer.

Fun Fact: According to Jason Alexander, the monologue was actually an alternate ending to the episode. The initial test screening of The Marine Biologist ended with George walking into the sea, but the Seinfeld crew didn't find the ending funny. Larry David wrote the monologue and Jason memorized it in ten minutes. It was done entirely in one take.

When George throws off his hat and starts walking into the water, I laugh every time.

Just watched Jerry talking about how they came up with the golf ball in the whale idea at 2am the night before the final day of shotting the episode. Jason memorized that speech in 30 minutes. The look on Jerry’s face wasn’t acting, he was SHOCKED that George absolutely nailed it first take.

The Sea was Angry that Day my Friends is iconic, but George’s rant at Jerry in Jerry’s apartment about telling the woman he’s a Marine Biologist is brilliant: “Why didn’t you make me an architect?!! You know I always wanted to pretend to be an architect!!”

Bravo to the actors (cashier and customer) behind Kramer and Jerry, acting "normal" while the crowd was laughing wild.

George's speech was already entertaining but it is the ending that puts it in legendary status.

One of my all-time favorite sitcom bits. "The sea was angry that day, my friends..." "What is that, a Titleist?" Perfect!

Love how it's Larry to scream it. His little 'cameos' were always great.

Jerry correcting george with "mammal" still gets me. I dont think that was rehearsed but its so brilliant. All of georges bullshit and he didnt even know they were mammals

Only a trained theatre actor like Jason could have pulled this off. He was the best actor on the show and he was comic timing monologue perfection here.
