Yes, but cannonballs go straight, lol. These things are, in addition to being cannonballish, spastic and unpredictable. I love that you can't predict which direction they're gonna go based on which way they're facing! Super mega entertaining!
They're fun when they are this size. Unfortunately as they grow up instincts take over and they start to try to bite you instead as the wild animal comes out. And it's wild instincts of survival take control. There has been a few adult ones that stay friendly though.
45 seconds is not a long enough video of George. I think I speak for us all when I say, "WE WANT MORE!!" Yeah I know he's 3 years old now but I bet he's just as cute.
Until you realize once they are alduts the wild instincts take over and they try to bite you constantly. Huge 2 inch teeth.... they are actually very heavy.
Link Knight: hair is very coarse, too. Though "bite" isn't what the ones at our local petting zoo do (as adults--look like 75-100 pounds!), they nibble on cuffs, shoelaces, etc. trying to eat them. Kind of indifferent to us at that point but one did crawl into someone's lap and he was sort of forced to stay there for quite a long time until the wombat had enough and got off.
Lived in Australia years ago and was spooked by a wombat snoring in the middle of the night in our backyard, thinking it was a lot bigger than they are. My gosh they're cuuuute!!!
I never truly knew how big the little buggers can get until I started watching these videos.. They really can get huge!.. They're still cute beyond comprehension even when they grow up!. LOL
Wombats are so cute, as are all our wild life. I adore them all. They're just like dogs following you around. So cute. Thanks for sharing. It's so nice to see all these good stories after crying over all the poor injured ones that bring such sadness. This is such a happy positive outcome. Good on you all with your big hearts and caring souls.
It's amazing how Australia has all the cutest animals, they are like ready made adorable pets. Kangaroos, Koala Bears, Duckbill Platypuses , possums and now these little guys! ( try to ignore the crocodiles, Sharks, venemous spiders and snakes)
We knew a man (he has passed away now), who went by “The Wombat.” And I never knew how awesome and wonderful the wombat is. But that dude knew, so my hats off to the man called Wombat.
