Saw him live a few years ago. He's quite the showman. Had everyone in the audience out of there seats & up on their feet dancing. People in their late 60's & even 70's (Everyone). The guy in front of us said it was his 5th time seeing George. I told him I can clearly see why. If you ever get a chance to see him live - Do It! You won't be disappointed.
We played this at my Dad's funeral service and every body loved it he lived to be 87 yrs old and wanted this song played and he got it. Rest in Peace Dad with Mom 😥😥🙏💛💛🌹I WILL miss both of you💛💛💛💛
He's not underrated. He's not near as good as many of the virtuosos that were playing at that time. Seems like he's a good capable rhythm guitarist. He has had lead guitarists playing with him on occasion.
So true one of the best no auto tune his actual voice right there it’s so unique .. George plays blues or rockabilly .. when he was out he was in the company of mainstream big hair rock band ..but he is so underrated .. like Prince
I used to have a stammer when I was a kid, a teacher used to call me Thorogood for some reason, it wasn’t until I discovered George Thorogood and The Destroyers years later that I realised it was the b-b-b-b-bad thing. Great song, awful teacher.
@Jordan Cruz Obviously GT does it on certain songs for effect only but as a true stammerer you must know that singing, whilst not a cure in itself, stammering doesn't happen during it. Here in UK we had a talent competition (X Factor). One year a young lad won it. He was a brilliant vocalist but had possibly the worst stammer i've heard. The guy who ran the show is a record producer and signed him up but also funded coaching lessons to help cure his stammer. He had a short musical career but years later appeared on tv to explain how his stammer had been cured and has since worked as a tv presenter.
That is badass rock n'roll. I had thought that "Bad to the Bone" was George doing a cover version of some oletimey Delta Blues singer or something but he wrote it himself. Badass.
It's a take off of Bo Diddley - I'm a Man. If you've ever seen the original video for this song in the pool hall it has George playing against Bo Diddley with the high rollers placing bets and neighborhood kids trying to catch a glimpse of the action.
It's because he let the song get used in every film and tv show and commercial with a bad guy it got overplayed and he became a parody of himself ..but your totally right this song is insanely good and his voice is from the devil himself it just oozes testosterone he must gargle gravel in a morning
Before the days of video and I saw him I pictured him to look rode hard and put away wet. Like he had been smoking 5 packs a day for the past hundred years. What a surprise!
Dude, he's playing live at 71, in Las Vegas on Fremont Street literally right this second. I'm so pissed in missing it! TWO saxophones?! Sweeeeettt... Great performer.
Him and his band just played in my little area about 45mins South of DC, he came but I didnt go unfortunately, also ZZ Top, Joan Jett have played here and Allman Bros but I ended up seeing them in Virginia it was awesome
I heard this on a Monday night party bus and I can't get it out of my head. That guitar solo is nuts! This is one of the most badass rock n roll songs of all-time!
+carlitosskater89 Isn't that game Christine is in? This Song was the Theme for the movie Christine and the car in that movie was a 1958 Plymouth Fury, Christine Was also the first movie to use Bad To The Bone in it, George Thorogood was actually in the ending scene as the Junk Yard Worker
+Lance “BlueMule74” Cormier Excellent memory! And, long, long ago, it was also the title of a book written by the prolific American author known as Stephen King! Hard to imagine, but the book was actually more frightening than the movie!
The amount of respect and awe involved in knowing George had to stretch the vocals out to keep the feedback from rolling, and how well he made it all fit to time, is simply AWESOME!

GiRaffe101........ it was the best decade to live in. I turned 16 in 1980. I couldn't have timed it better if I tried. Best ladies, best economy, best cars for cheap, best music and the best times all around. We'll never see another decade like the 80's ever again. That's for sure.
Loved the 80's. Your the exact age as my brother and I was 9 in 1980. It was a great time. Now if I could go back though I would want to see the 1950's.
un grande de verdad antes para escuchar este tema tenia que ver la pelicula cristina gracias a youtube por revivir esta musica y sensaciones que causan en mi muy agradecido cordiales saludos

On the day I was born The nurses all gathered 'round And they gazed in wide wonder At the joy they had found The head nurse spoke up Said leave this one alone She could tell right away That I was bad to the bone Bad to the bone, bad to the bone B-b-b-b-bad, B-b-b-b-bad, B-b-b-b-bad, bad to the bone I broke a thousand hearts Before I met you I'll break a thousand more baby Before I am through I wanna be yours pretty baby Yours and yours alone I'm here to tell you honey That I'm bad to the bone Bad to the bone B-b-b-b-bad, B-b-b-b-bad, B-b-b-b-bad, bad to the bone I'll make a rich woman beg And I'll make a good woman steal I'll make an old woman blush And I'll make a young girl squeal I wanna be yours pretty baby Yours and yours alone I'm here to tell ya honey That I'm bad to the bone B-b-b-b-bad, B-b-b-b-bad, B-b-b-b-bad, bad to the bone And when I walk the streets Kings and queens step aside Every woman I meet They all stay satisfied I wanna tell ya pretty baby What I see I make my own I'm here to tell ya honey That I'm bad to the bone, bad to the bone B-b-b-b-bad, B-b-b-b-bad, B-b-b-b-bad, bad to the bone

3:35 He's not even human anymore that's the devil himself ...That's the serpent tongue ...I knew no human could make a guitar riff that bad ass this whole song is from Belezabub himself but I can't stop listening ...I'm too weak ...it's too good
