My late husband was a long haul gear jammer for many years. The stories he told me….from lot lizards to hauling dynamite. My best to all the truckers. You guys and gals keep this nation rolling!
The rusty old truck in Mad Max was an old Auto Car. I don't know if Auto Cars are built anymore. Another old timer is Marmon. White was around until Volvo bought them out to get in the American market. But you really have an old truck if you have an FMC. Not GMC it was FMC.
Great point. Here's another : you can't count the songs that are sung about Freedom, but you have to think reeeeal hard to come up with even one about Equality. Think about it. (and tell a lefty, they seem to have overlooked this fact. ;¬)
Give me a prius and I'll gear jam the shit out of that thing. Yes with the little fake shifter, it will still gear jam. Why? Because I'm American and I can rock anything with wheels and George backing me up.
@@adamm1284 lol prius's are actually pretty good cars as long as its a new one i got to drive my aunts 2015 and it'll do burnouts in the rain (only in the rain)
Thanks to the truck drivers who keep things going throughout the current crisis. You guys don't get the respect and pay you'd deserve. Greets from Germany.
I love trucks and truck drivers. They keep us going and keep us supplied. Anytime after a war, there were so many independents who were the rebels of the road. My dad was one and with his Freightliner, he could go coast to coast in less than 3 days with only about a half an hour to an hour of sleep.
Saw the thumbnail, recognised the truck, came here to find out the name of the movie. Thanks. :) Remember seeing this as a kid, but forgot what it was called.
Jammin' gears all night long. My rig might not be as iconic as these beauties (it's a 2014 cornbinder with a Cummins) but she's got an 18 over and could run hot and hard if the gubbermint didn't strangle her at 65mph. Love this song!
Always loved semi trucks. I made them blow the horn when I was a child and I still chase them down to have them blow the horn. I lost a good friend in 2018, he loved driving 18 wheelers. He always said "if I'm gonna go I wanna go in my rig." Well he did, had a seizure or heart attack and hit the sign to a gas station and his rig went up in flames with him in it. RIP SUAVECITO. This is dedicated to you brother.
This hit from George Thorogood was heard on the Miami Vice episode, Walk-Alone, which aired on October 17, 1986. Miami Vice will always be one of my all time favorite shows. It was the first to combine MTV with police action drama. I did not see this episode when it first aired as I was out at sea (US Navy).
I drive every weekend 400Km...the speed 210 km/h i try every time to drive slow, But since I was a child I felt passion to drive fast, every time I try to don't drive fast but believe me it's not easy, of course I drive in highways almost empty of cars, "I know is dangerous" but I feel alive. I won't to hurt to nobody, person or animal but it's very difficult to go slow
Ryan Fugitt Yes Sir them good Ole days are gone I myself have seen trucking at its best! For the last 8 years it has gone to hell now there are far and few real truck drivers out here now! Nothing but a bunch of steering wheel holders now that don't even have a c.b. in their truck but they call themselves truckers!
William Creel I know right but thankfully I'm one of those old school truckers and I'm 19yrs old I luv the old trucks their stories and work that they do even the drivers of the trucks too. my great grandpa on my dad side was a logging trucker he hauled giant redwood to the sawmills but he got killed by a log I don't know all the details I heard it from me mom dad and my grandpa
I remember being on a road trip from CO to WA. when I was going through oregon on some of those nice curvy highways I passed a semi truck going like 90 on the inside of a corner. I kept hauling through there, (not going too fast since I didn't know the road) and the semi kept up with me pretty much the whole time. he was probably listening to this song
No me aburro de escuchar este tema es mi favorito cuando voy en mi Subaru sobre 180km/h es mi momento de locura jajajaja saludos desde Chile ...!!!!!!!
Had a 470 Mack 18 RR, early days IH AACO 9RR 903 Cummins. Heavy loads you had to be alert and drive it like you hate it. Love gettin' the foot down and into it. Even the N10 16 speed with the splitter and the 2 stick Diamond T was a lot of fun. I drove the latest trucks with big horsepower and all the comforts but not the same. Nice song for coming off Cunninghams Gap.
Saw GT in August '81 at the Auckland Town Hall...grouse concert! I was 22. Taking my 6 year old granddaughter to see him at the same venue in 3 weeks time. She can do all the boogying though coz I'm too crook these days (legacy of a loose lifestyle😆)Cheers from Aotearoa New Zealand.
Dad drove rigs trough Europe to feed his family, Manly bulk, I drove for a Indusrial cleaning company. And last month my "big brother" got his license to. Hail and blessings to you all.
Such great memories of this song! A scorching hot day, wide open empty highway, this song blasting in my helmet and screamin’ down the road at over 150 mph on a two wheel rocket from hell 😊
Real trucks get dirty and grimy, and belch out that gorgeous black exhaust. Big trucks aren't meant to stay clean and shiny, they're built to get dirty.
I tip my hat to you men and women of the trucking industry. If trucks stop, America stops. Be safe God bless and thank you for keeping America rolling.
