Summary of the 70 km from Omalo (Tusheti NP) to Pshaveli (Kakheti) across the 2850m high Abano Pass, one of the highest driveable passes in Europe.
This pass is on the north/south watershed of the Caucasus Mouantains, which is in most definitions the border between Europe and Asia.
It took us just over three hours to drive this stretch, an indication of the general condition of the road. It was also featured in an episode of the BBC's World's Most Dangerous Roads series. ( www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01pp7ps )
